À conversa com…Urbanismo, pensar a cidade com o coração

No momento em que este primeiro número da "malha urbana" chegar às mãos dos leitores os primeiros licenciados em Urbanismo estão a acabar de suar as estopinhas perante o júri que apreciou as teses de fim de curso.Foi uma longa "peregrinação" por um currículo vasto e variado (já que vária tem de ser a formação do Urbanista) e foi também uma "peregrinação" pela cidade-primeiro em São Marçal, depois na malha labiríntica de Alfama, Sta. Helena, logo bem juntos a uma das zonas mais degradadas de Lisboa, em Alfornelos e, finalmente, o poiso no Campo Grande. Para sabermos como tudo se passou desde o início fomos procurar o primeiro coordenador do curso, seu fundador e principal impulsionador o professor Mário Moutinho.

Qualidade e cinesfera do movimento de jogadores de basquetebol em cadeira de rodas

Este estudo de caráter descritivo teve como objetivo investigar a qualidade e cinesfera dos movimentos dos membros superiores de jogadores de basquete em cadeira de rodas da Associação Rio-grandense de Paralíticos e Amputados. A revisão de literatura destacou a caracterização da pessoa portadora de deficiência motora e o basquete em cadeira de rodas, assim como o significado, a qualidade e cinesfera do movimento humano. Não tendo sido encontrada literatura sobre pesquisas realizadas a respeito desse assunto quanto ao usuário da cadeira de rodas, a coleta dos dados ocorreu através de entrevistas, filmagens e fichas de observação, o que possibilitou a análise e interpretação da qualidade e cinesfera dos indivíduos da amostra. Com os resultados obtidos, foi possível verificar que, em todos os movimentos locomotores, manipulativos, estabilizantes e expressivos, os indivíduos apresentaram uma qualidade própria dentro dos fatores do movimento (peso, tempo, espaço e fluência); foram também identificadas combinações entre estes fatores (caracterizando ações básicas de esforço). Quanto à cinesfera dos movimentos dos membros superiores, os indivíduos observados, portadores de deficiência motora, demonstraram explorar diferentes direções espaciais (dimensionais, diametrais e diagonais), predominando a direção espacial diametral, denominada de movimento das ações práticas.

A organização do reparo iniciado e levado a cabo pelo outro na conversa cotidiana e na sala de aula tradicional em português brasileiro

Os estudos seminais em Análise da Conversa são originários e estão amplamente difundidos nos Estados Unidos e, assim, grande parte de suas asserções está baseada em estudos feitos com anglo-americanos, mas as descrições da organização do sistema de troca de turnos e do reparo têm a pretensão de serem universais. Então, neste trabalho, analiso ocorrências de uma das trajetórias de reparo – o reparo iniciado e levado a cabo pelo outro – com dados de fala-em-interação em português brasileiro, para verificar se o sistema opera da mesma forma que nos trabalhos seminais. Dentre as trajetórias de reparo, o reparo iniciado e levado a cabo pelo outro – fenômeno muito próximo da correção – é o mais despreferido e, conseqüentemente, mais raro na conversa cotidiana. Isso se dá porque o reparo geralmente se presta para garantir o estabelecimento da compreensão mútua entre os participantes, mas, no caso dessa trajetória, ele é dificilmente justificável nesse sentido, e serve, muitas vezes, como um exercício de controle social sobre o outro. Contudo, essa noção de preferência do reparo dá conta apenas de dados em conversa cotidiana. Na sala de aula tradicional, por exemplo, um ambiente institucional, há uma diferença de status de conhecimento entre os interagentes, as relações são assimétricas, e não se configura a despreferência deste tipo de reparo, pois a correção faz parte do modus operandi desse ambiente. Tendo confirmado a adequação da descrição do sistema de reparo às ocorrências de reparo iniciado e levado a cabo pelo outro em dados de conversa cotidiana em português brasileiro, o estudo concentra a sua análise na descrição da ocorrência do fenômeno em sala de aula, e discute as possíveis implicações político-pedagógicas relacionadas a essa prática tão comum nesse ambiente, mas tão despreferida na conversa cotidiana.

Efeito da natação e do basquetebol em cadeira de rodas sobre o colesterol HDL: uma investigação em indivíduos com lesão medular

Despite the observation of an increase in life expectancy in individuals with Spinal cord injury (SCI), it is lower than that of the general population. Studies have shown that affected individuals have a sedentary lifestyle that reflects negatively on health and quality of life. Studies have demonstrated that HDL cholesterol (HDL-C) levels, a high-density lipoprotein and important predictor of cardiovascular disease, are lower in this population exposing these people to a greater incidence of heart disease from atherosclerotic process In the general population, exercise increases HDL-C serum levels, but this phenomenon is not very clear in people with spinal cord injury (SCI). The present study examined the effect of both swimming and wheelchair basketball in the lipid profile of eleven men and seven women with SCI. The subjects included in regular exercise programs showed increases in HDL-C levels and decreases in CT/HDL-C and LDL-C/HDL-C ratios. We found better results mainly in men with lower levels of SCI and in those that sustained exercise intensities above 60% of the heart rate reserve. The duration of training sessions can be an essential factor in these results. The results suggest that both the exercise prescription and the personal characteristics of people with SCI influence changes in the lipid profile mediated through exercise. The elaboration of this work is an attempt to clarify uncertainties about health and the longevity of people with SCI generated in discussion of all members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, especially the physiotherapists, nutritionists, nurses and physicians that contributed considerably in all phases of the research

Efeito de rodas compactadoras submetidas a cargas verticais em profundidades de semeadura sobre o desenvolvimento do milho

O sucesso de implantação de uma cultura pode ser garantido por uma semeadura bem realizada, e as rodas compactadoras utilizadas nessa operação devem ser capazes de melhorar o contato solo-semente para promover boa emergência das plântulas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a influência de três modelos de rodas compactadoras, três profundidades de semeadura e três níveis de carga sobre a roda compactadora na germinação e no desenvolvimento da cultura do milho, em uma pista de ensaios projetada para essa finalidade, no município de Uberaba - MG, em Latossolo Vermelho distrófico, textura média. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de parcelas subsubdivididas, com 27 tratamentos e quatro repetições. Os resultados obtidos evidenciaram que a profundidade de semeadura foi o fator que mais afetou o desenvolvimento vegetativo da cultura do milho no estádio 2, enquanto no estádio 4 nenhum dos fatores afetou as medidas de desenvolvimento da cultura.

Uma conversa na escola: o diálogo e a mídia

The dialogue represents an essential condition for the complete realization of the Communication. In Paulo Freire we find a concept of dialogue which expresses itself, fundamentally, in two dimension: on one hand, in the confluence of subjectivities; on the other, in action. Dialogue would not be, therefore, a thinking for , but a thinking with . On the other hand, the media, here understood as synonym of technical media of information and expression is spread all over society as synonym of communication media. In this direction, this paper intends to check if the media allows the dialogue, in the heart of the Freirean concept of communication. We start from the premise that it is not possible to come to an answer if we continue to accept the theoretical approach which polarizes the process of communication between emitter and receptor. By using elements of the ethnomethodology such as the analysis of the conversation and the reflexivity, we dived in the school everyday life of educators and students of an elementary level public school in the city of Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte, in order to, through some experiences with the media, corroborate Paulo Freire's ideas, stating the mediation made by the world and seeking a bias for the use of the media to enable a more dialogic education

Navegando nas ondas dos saberes do ser: uma conversa com a sexualidade à luz da corporeidade.

This study aimed to provide a continuing education towards raising teachers for reflection and effective sexual education within the school environment as a possible route of self-education and training of teachers of elementary school. More specifically aim to facilitate through the Continuing Education to discuss the knowledge of the body and knowledge of human sexuality, presenting them as core knowledge in the integral formation of individuals and promote discussion of a Human-centered education Teaching in a vocational training and human .In this sense, we dialogue with the human teaching preconized by Arroyo (2002, 2004) along with the humanization (hominization) of the individuals through education, under Freire´s perspective of the being more (2003) as well as his ideas, Pineau´s (2003) and Josso´s (2004) about the educational practice understanding as a way to build up the autonomy of the individuals who we intend to educate. We defend the inclusion of the body as an essential learning element according to the principles of corporeity presented by Assman (2001), whose comprehension is that every learning experience has a corporal inscription. Furthermore, the knowledge about human sexuality cannot be excluded from this process since the sexuality is inherent of individuals and is constructed and reconstructed during their existence. Our view of the world and of man is supported by the knowledge of the complexity (Morim, 2004) trying to surpass the mechanist view that sees them through the duality view, fragmenting them. For the discussion and construction of knowledge that search for the confluence of these knowledges about the being and the educational practice, aiming at the individual integral formation starting from the process of self-formation/self-knowledge, we´ve directed our research-action-formation having as compass the theoretical-methodological postulate of the research-action (Barbier, 2002; Morin, 2004; Thiollent, 2004) because it makes the participation of all the involved people in the process of resolution or surpassing of problem solving possible. We´ve used the continuing formation as a way of access for data collection, applying a questionnaire with open questions for the ones involved in the research. Based on the findings it´s been possible to infer that for the teaching formation it is necessary the inclusion of the Human sexuality and corporeity theme, so that the teacher can surpass the biological view of sexuality and also the expansion of the mechanist view of the body. To do so, we suggest that the teaching formation happens supported by the teaching capacitation and formation according to Maturana (2004), bringing teaching knowledges (Tardiff, 2002), which contribute effectively for the responsibility to educate people for life.

Simetria na dança: vestígios matemáticos na prática da dança esportiva em cadeira de rodas

To investigate in practice of the Wheelchair Dancesport (WDS), the mathematics of the characteristic isometric movements of the dance of ChaChaCha was the generating subject of this study. The subjects and the locus of the research were the athletes dancers of the Associação Baiana de Dança em Cadeira de Rodas (ABDCR). Referred him study aimed at to describe reflections concerning the athletes' practicing dancers of the technical acting Wheelchair Dancesport, using the inherent mathematical knowledge to the isometric movements executed in the ChaChaCha. For that, I stimulated in the athlete dancer the need to be investigating of his/her own practice, motivating him/it to be searching of information that they collaborate with his/her technical refinement, proposing like this roads to make possible his/her growth, while dancer and, also, promoting of their own movements. To reach my objectives I dialogued with some specialists to understand, to the light of their theories as, Espaçonumerática, Sociology of the mathematics, Etnomathematical, Dance and Symmetry, as those spaces they interact with the atmosphere of the Wheelchair Dancesport and that contributions could supply to the study. However, two authors of the Dancesport for walking , Ried e Laird, they brought contributions that aided in the creation of a prototype for the study of isometric movements in practice of the modality promoting the interface between the theory and the practice. The study showed to be possible to navigate still with the Mathematical Education in an universe little known as the one of the Wheelchair Dancesport. And it is in this adapts that propose a more attentive glance to the illustrations executed by the athlete dancer wheelchair and walking , in the dance of the ChaChaCha, verifying and proposing an analysis with focus investigate, looking for mathematical tracks concerning the symmetry that you/they characterize some of their illustrations
