Through observation of production process of a Vale do Paraiba’s automobile industry, one can encounter in need of improvement related to large uncertainties and variations in the production environment, a fact that inspired the search for solutions that can respond quickly to these changes. This way, the paper describes the development of a flexible manufacturing model, which aims to optimize the process in an automotive sub-assembly industry of the Paraíba Valley. The main objective is to propose a method to promote viable alternatives to easing the assembly of parallel sub performed the assembly of cars. For the construction of the model was necessary to explore concepts of flexible manufacturing and making the data presented in literature, which were vital to ensure the development of the method. The concepts discussed are usually presented at an undergraduate degree in Engineering. Data compiled by the model are able to serve as a strategic benchmark for decision making by managers. Análise da implantação do TPM em uma empresa do ramo farmacêutico

Through observation of the production process industries today, one can encounter the needs of the large uncertainties related improvements and changes in the production environment, a fact that inspired the search for solutions that can respond quickly to these changes. Thus, this paper describes the review of implementation of TPM (total productivity management), which aims to optimize two distinct processes in the Vale do Paraíba´s pharmaceutical industry one of through the pillar of specific improvement. The main objective is to propose an efficient alternative to proposing loss management processes by identifying and eliminating the same in a systematic process. To develop this analysis was necessary to explore concepts of TPM and tools that help in taking data, identification and clarification of the phenomena that cause failures in the process, which were essential to ensure the development of the analysis. Estimação do risco de morte de recém-nascidos utilizando logica fuzzy tipo-2 intervalar

The main objective of the presented study is the development of a predictive interval type-2 fuzzy inference system in order to estimate the mortality risk for a newborn, to be used as an auxiliary tool for decision making in medical centers where there is a lack of professionals for this purpose and, afterwards, to compare its performance to a type-1 fuzzy system. The input variables were chosen due to their acquisition ‘simplicity, not involving any invasive tests, such as blood tests or other specific tests. The variables are easily obtained in the first few minutes of life: birth weight, gestational age at delivery, 5-minute Apgar score and previous report of stillbirth. Databases from the DATASUS were used to validate the model. 1351 records from the city of São José dos Campos, a mid-sized city in the São Paulo state’s countryside, were considered in this study. Finally, an analysis using the ROC curve was performed to estimate the model’s accuracy

Tomada de decisão em grupo na seleção de processos para auditoria interna

L’audit, c’est un outil de gestion très important pour que les organisations puissent accomplir la réussite. Selon le fait qu’il n’y a pas des modèles d’aide à l’audit, il existe une opportunité de recherche. En considerant les Méthodes d’Aide à la Décision, il y a des plusieurs type d’applications. L’objectif de la recherche c’est la proposition d’un modèle capable de sélectionner des processus pour faire l’audit dans une distributeur de carburant en considerant la prise de décision en groupe. La modélisation normative empirique c’est la méthode de recherche utilisée. Un modèle qui utilise l’Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) et la prise de décision en groupe a été proposé face aux difficultés d’un département d’Audit Interne. Le modèle proposé présente les poids des processus et permet leur priorisations dans un scénario determiné. Pour l’application de ce modèle présenté, on a utilisé cinq critères et 26 alternative (processus). L’information de jugement a été bien founi par trois spécialistes du département. Quelques rendez-vous avec les participants ont été pris pour obtenir et réviser les donnés ainsi que discuter les résultats. Les résultats obtenus par le modèle permettent d’identifier les processus qu’il faut plus d’attention. L’équipe a considéré le modèle comme une proposition d’aide à la prise de décision très pertinent pour le département d’Audit Interne

Aplicação do AHP em um caso de escolha dos modais de transporte para a movimentação das partes de um aerogerador

Wind power is a type of energy that is still not too explored in Brazil and, because of the lack of experience in projects of this size, there are still some problems during the stages of planning and execution of wind farms projects. One of these problems is related with the parts’ transportation logistics, since these parts are difficult to transport, because of their length, weight or shape. Furthermore, another aggravating factor is the lack of options regarding to the transportation modals that are available to do the route between the manufacture place and the project site. To help in the decision-making process about the ideal transportation configuration, aiming to reduce the dependence of the logistics’ coordinator, it was chosen to use he AHP method to compare some criteria that have influence in the modal’s choice process. The criteria, determined by the members of the company’s logistics’ department, are: transportation costs, transportation time and the risk of causing damages to the cargo. The results shown by this model, using theoretical background, that standardize the processes related to the modal’s choice

Given the competitive reality of the globalized market, companies are compelled to develop strategic aspects of the management process, in order to ensure their survival. Among the strategic aspects is the price formation process, whose reasoning occurs mainly of adoption through cost system. Knowledge of costs and expenses provides conditions for the company to position itself strategically in the market, being able to follow the price of competition and sometimes even surpass them, called, more and more attention with regard to price formation. This study aims to identify the best price to be transferred to the market. To this end, were approached concept of pricing and its components, their strategies and pricing objectives, as well as the influence of demand on price formation, as well as the added value the brand and quality; and even a careful analysis of the price established by the said company in the service offered. We used the method of literature review and case study in the company ESA international aeronautical industry. Thus, we sought to explain about the main concepts for pricing in order to support decision making

In order to maintain the competitiveness the companies seek for cost reduction and resource optimization. A product or service price is calculated considering direct and indirect costs involved in its fabrication, which means that if an intern indirect process is optimized, the final price of the product is also reduced and becomes more interesting to the final costumer. Considering this reasoning, the companies must evaluate each of their processes and optimize them. It is common to outsource intern products manufacturing as a cost reduction strategy, nevertheless when there are already resources and capability to produce the own goods, it becomes necessary to evaluate the economic gain that each strategy - make or buy - generates. The constant misuse of land in Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs) have been recurrent, especially in urban areas, where the dynamics of change is constant. The protection of these areas to maintain a balance in the ecosystem and the population's quality of life is fundamentally important. So it is of utmost important to draw up a mechanism that can help in decision-making in relation to measures for the protection, mitigation of damages that are being caused and revitalization of these areas. Thus, a managing these areas based on the PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) in order to create mechanisms to facilitate the protection and revitalization of APPs, could be of great help for making public decision-making bodies that are entrusted to protect such areas. Based on this, we elaborated a project management in order to revitalize and protect the APPs in urban area of Rio Claro, SP and could become a model for future use by public bodies

The corporate world is increasingly competitive, and companies need to go deep into the routines and work them in order to understand them fully. The market is demanding more than simple improvements that bring advances - of small or great expression; however, in a longer term it will no longer meet the ideology of the market. Companies aimed at the world class must focus on projects that will continually bring returns to the company. As previously mentioned, understanding the processes in minute details is of paramount importance, as this knowledge can be acquired by analyzing the decisions that are necessary during the process. Once the complexity increases, the quantity and difficulty of the criteria that influence them grow accordingly. At this time, methods and tools that assist decisionmaking processes can be used as, besides being able to provide the best decision methods of MCDA (Multiple Criteria Decision Aid), they provide clear and assertive understanding of the whole decision process. In developing this study, we sought to explore the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method (a MCDA method) in the choice of access service, featured by the support service used to reach and be the basis of repairs in places of difficult access. This work proposes a study of the quantitative modeling approach in a real routine activity for a Brazilian petrochemical company. Decision-making processes are explored when we seek to analyze not only the decision makers but also what directly influences them on the use of the AIJ method. Once this is achieved, the understanding of decision-making is substantiated
