Distribuição de mercúrio total em sedimentos da plataforma continental Amazônica: Brasil

Este estudo foi desenvolvido na Plataforma Continental do Amazonas (PCA) com o objetivo de determinar os níveis de Hg total no sedimento de fundo, e assim contribuir como matriz ambiental indicadora para o plano geral de gerenciamento costeiro na região norte do Brasil. Foram amostrados 20 pontos entre maio e junho dos anos de 1999 a 2002, 2005 e 2007. Os resultados indicam não haver evidências de atividades antrópicas relacionadas à contaminação de mercúrio na região. Os teores encontrados variaram entre 0,047 e 0,166 mg kg^-1 com média 0,085±0,026 mg kg^-1, estando dentro do intervalo de "background" referido para os rios amazônicos não contaminados, que é de 0,05 a 0,28 mg kg^-1. As concentrações de Hg no sedimento, especialmente no sedimento lamoso, mostraram uma estreita dependência com os teores de argila (material fino) e matéria orgânica, corroborando mecanismos geoquímicos importantes na dinâmica do metal. A maior adsorção do mercúrio pode estar associada ao aumento dos teores de compostos (óxidos e hidróxidos) de ferro, alumínio, manganês e os minerais primários e secundários formadores das rochas da bacia de drenagem amazônica.

This study examined the practices of crowdfunding, collective vehicle of fundraising for the production of works of culture, education, social programs etc over the internet. Through the analysis of registered projects and finalized in Brazilian site funding col-laborative Catarse, we were able to list interesting points to be considered to deter-mine what lead people to cooperate or not with this kind of practice. It was noticed that the internet materialized in front of individuals as an important vehicle for social participation, enabling the concern to collaborate on projects, people and causes that have common characteristics or interests bring benefits to society

Avaliação da espessura da mandíbula com relação à fixação interna rígida em osteotomia sagital: estudo anatômico

Purpose: Trying to provide more anatomical data to the oral and maxillofacial surgeons regarding to orthognathic surgery, specifically about sagittal split osteotomy, the authors accomplished an anatomical study in dry human jaws, measuring the thickness in four previously established points of the body and mandibular ramus, at the usual spots used for the internal fixation by screws. Material and Methods: The authors also use the data collected to evaluate if there are significant differences between the group I (human dry mandibles with teeth) and group II (edentulous human dry mandibles). Results: For the group I the authors found the following results: x1 = 14,48, x2 = 14,94, x3=12,82 and x4 = 9,41, being the x2 the thickest point, and the least thick the x4. However in the group II, the found medium values were: x1 = 13,38, x2 = 13,08, x3 = 11,63 and x4 = 12,18, being the thickest point in that group the x1 and the least thick x3. The coefficient of simple correlation between the variables (group I and II) revealed a value of 0,6194, being this difference no significant at the meaning level of 95%.

Desafios da comunicação interna em departamentos de jornalismo

This paper focuses on the importance of internal communication within the journalism departments of regional Brazilian open television networks. This research shows that these professionals recognized that communication can improve relationship among staff and journalistic performance. However, just one of the companies researched invests in internal communication management. The present study also reveals many challenges which influence internal communication, relationship, and the journalistic work in these companies, such as: lean teams, interferences from other areas in the journalistic writing, lack of formal network of communication, competition among members of the team, the journalist's professional profile, need for shared leadership and internal communication policies and information management.

Mídia e desenvolvimento social no documentário transmídia

The genre documentary in itself characterized by citizen emancipation from the content discussed in his works. Termed as images of the people by Jean-Claude Bernardet (2003), the documentary is gaining traction in social development when added to citizen participation offered by transmedia storytelling. This study presents the results obtained from a literature search, the film analysis and experimentation supported in quasi-experimental methodology, results that support these conditions. Hopefully, from this discussion, consolidate the systematic development of transmedia documentary works in new media ecology and that maximizes the role of journalism by a traditionally audiovisual platform, now with other strands to the representation of the news.
