This text is part of a larger study that initially aimed at focusing the relation between nominalization and transitivity in the Portuguese Language. Based on A. Culioli´s Theory of the Enuntiative Operations, we started from a static and descriptive analysis of language, in which nominalization and transitivity have visibility, towards a study that takes into consideration the articulation between language and natural languages. This second approach diluted the specificity of these two grammatical questions and directed them to more abstract spaces of reflection and common to any grammatical problem, such as causality, differential propriety and the construction of notional domains.

This research aimed to verify the vocabulary difficulties faced by 9th year students while understanding the didactic book of Portuguese Language (DBPL) “Vontade de Saber Português”, used at the Municipal School Sebastião Rangel. We noticed the students had some doubts concerning the unknown vocabulary in the texts and, therefore, in text comprehension. The hypothesis is that one “difficult” word and the lexicon used by DBPL author can disturb student comprehension. We adopted some action which could simplify the little vocabulary understanding and contributed to extend it. For that reason, the job was theoretically based on Biderman (1999), Barbosa (1989), Dias (2004), Krieger (2012), Coelho (1993) and on National Curriculum Parameters of Portuguese Language, aiming to ally theory and practice. The application methodology of the proposal was done in order to the students understand that the word needs to be adapted to its context. At the begging of the job, the students read the texts and took notes of the “difficult” words, selecting, corpus. We analyzed the doubts, registering them. Then, we showed to the students the classification of abbreviated words after each entry. The students separated the words for grammar classes – lexical words” (KRIEGER, 2012). Such words have a very significant meaning to the comprehension of the read texts, being interesting to take a look in online dictionaries. In the creative glossary, done by the students, the words were spread in alphabetical order. They transcript the part where was the word and copied again, substituting the word to a clearer word. Finally, we asked the students a writing production using five words from the glossary; we showed them that the meaning of the words is not found only in the dictionary, but they can be used in different contexts. In the analyzes, was discovered that there is one necessity of a pedagogic didactic work more effective with elementary school lexicon. Thus, this proposal is not a closed receipt, but the infield location allowed a reflexive pedagogic practice about lexicon education.

Reading the book Introduction to Libras: Language, History and Culture enables enter the world of the deaf, increasing thus the own existential universe by contact with the richness of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and the history and culture of deaf people. This work is proposed by the subject of knowledge, raise awareness of the need to build a society in which vigore the principle of social justice for all; promote the revision of prejudice suffered by the deaf that impose discriminatory compactuando with the lack of social equity; and awaken the desire for a full communication with deaf people through Pounds learning, valuing differences.

No período de dois anos de capturas de flebotomíneos com armadilha luminosa de Shannon, às margens de uma mata residual alterada, na fazenda Palmital, Município de Terra Boa, Estado do Paraná, Brasil, observou-se que a densidade populacional desses insetos diminuiu sensivelmente, quando comparada com resultados anteriores, no mesmo local. As espécies predominantes, Lutzomyia whitmani, Lutzomyia migonei, Lutzomyia intermedius e Lutzomyia fischeri tiveram atividade das 18 às 6h e o pico horário de freqüência variou de acordo com cada espécie. As espécies citadas mostraram maior densidade nos meses de verão e outono. Concluem-se que as alterações introduzidas no ambiente podem ter resultado em mudanças no comportamento dos flebotomíneos.

Neste trabalho, começamos por focar a nossa atenção nas perturbações da linguagem. Assim, fazemos uma abordagem à literatura existente sobre estas perturbações, analisando os conceitos de comunicação, linguagem e fala. Com base neste enquadramento teórico, consideramos importante conhecer que impacto poderá ter a utilização de software educativo nos alunos com perturbações da linguagem, assim como determinar que fatores favorecem e condicionam essa utilização. A proposta para o uso de software educativo, numa perspetiva de aprendizagem, desenvolve-se a partir da utilização das Tecnologias da Comunicação e Informação (TIC) ao nível do ensino e em particular da Educação Especial (EE), considerando questões como: adequação dos conteúdos à realidade do educando, aplicação de novas metodologias que incentivem a participação ativa do aluno no processo de aprendizagem e redefinição dos objetivos a fim de ampliar o desenvolvimento do indivíduo para a sua inserção na sociedade moderna. É assim nossa intenção perceber se o uso das TIC, nomeadamente de softwares educativos, poderá apresentar resultados significativos no processo de construção de conhecimento, proporcionando condições para o desenvolvimento cognitivo, visando a motivação, a autonomia e a especificidade de cada aluno. Para tal, criamos uma plataforma interativa passível de ser utilizada por professores, profissionais e até mesmo pais de crianças com estas perturbações. Assim, este projeto parte de um estudo de natureza qualitativa, investigando, através do estudo de caso, se a utilização do software educativo “Talky – A Destrava Língua” será um instrumento capaz de minimizar ou até mesmo colmatar as dificuldades inerentes às crianças portadoras destas perturbações.

Seasonal variation of abundance of Ecballocystis pulvinata Bohlin in a stream of central-southern region of Parana State. The temporal dynamics of E. pulvinata and its relation to abiotic variables were evaluated monthly during January to December 2007 in a stream located in the central-southern part of Parana State (25 degrees 11'16 '' S - 51 degrees 021'25 '' W). The abundance of the population in terms of percentage cover was obtained by means of the quadrat technique and the following stream water variables were measured: current velocity, irradiance, depth, substrate type, temperature, oxygen saturation, conductivity, pH and turbidity. The abundance of E. pulvinata was considered high (X = 26.7%), with more development (22-46%) during autumn/winter. The low values (0-0.08) of niche width and the few associations with environmental variables shows that the population evaluated is a generalist with regards to the environment in which it occurs. Factors most strictly related were the water flow and the particle size of the substrate, which positively correlated to the seasonal pattern of the population investigated.

Three small rivers belonging to the Rio das Pedras basin, located in the mid-southern region of Paraná state, were studied in order to evaluate the seasonal variation pattern of some physical and chemical parameters. Monthly samplings were carried out from April 2004 to March 2005. The following limnological parameters were measured: water temperature, specific conductance, oxygen saturation, pH, turbidity, current velocity and depth. The waters of the Rio das Pedras basin presented very peculiar characteristics, showing typical seasonal patterns for some of the studied limnological variables. An Analysis of Variance (Anova) showed significant differences only for pH and depth among streams. A Principal Component Analysis (PCA) showed a weak tendency to form groups based on seasons instead of sampling sites. The results, in general, indicate that temporal variations of the environmental parameters analyzed were not sufficient to draw a clear seasonal pattern in the Rio das Pedras basin. Most likely, the lack of an obvious seasonal pattern has been provoked by a particular regional precipitation regime, where rains are frequent and well-distributed throughout the year.
