One of the existing business models is the family business. This paper deals with the structure of family businesses. With the purpose to analyzing the input and output processes of goods, and management behavior in decision-making, looking for the professionalization of the family business administration. This paper is a case study in a construction materials shop, with an applied research due to their nature, according to his purpose takes the characteristic of exploratory research, using interviews, observation and analysis of company data. During the analysis of processes in the company were noted some shortcomings. Given this fact, made the comparison with the theories found, proposals were generated improvements to be accomplished within the company structure

El presente trabajo de investigación se encuentra destinado a determinar y analizar los factores claves para la supervivencia, profesionalización y crecimiento de las empresas familiares en Mendoza, otorgando herramientas a las mismas para poder lograr el traspaso generacional en forma exitosa. Con esto se pretende ofrecer un análisis sobre qué están haciendo bien las empresas del medio, como así también qué afecta su continuidad. En la actualidad, la mayor parte de las empresas que se encuentran en la región son empresas familiares. Muy poco se ha estudiado sobre las mismas, por ello es que no se conocen las razones de éxito de las empresas, o, en su defecto, las razones de fracaso para tomarlo como base que las empresas no deben hacer a la hora de emprender un negocio o realizar el traspaso a las siguientes generaciones. El conocimiento de la información mencionada con anterioridad, ayudaría sin duda a muchas empresas a analizar la información que se detalla como impulsora del éxito, para así realizar determinados cambios en sus empresas y poder, sin tanta dificultad, realizar el cambio generacional en forma ordenada y sin problemas. Otra de las razones por la cual se considera importante el desarrollo del presente trabajo, es el hecho de que facilitará a las empresas comprender la mirada de las entidades financieras y realizar unadecuado estudio sobre la situación actual de su insti tución y sus posibilidades de acceso al crédito. De esta manera se aseguraran que el dinero solicitado podrá ser devuelto en tiempo y forma. Asimismo podrán buscar la mejor forma de combinar los distintos productos, buscando lograr una mayor rentabilidad con el menor costo posible.

El siguiente trabajo de investigación está abocado al estudio de las empresas familiares en su composición, manejo y actuar en lo cotidiano, centrada en el conflicto como eje de estudio. Se trata de una investigación aplicada en el sentido que se realizará un análisis del campo a pequeña escala con el objetivo de lograr un trabajo que sea de aplicabilidad para las pymes que serán estudiadas, y de esta manera brindar una herramienta que contribuya a solucionar falencias institucionales que algunas de ellas pudieran sostener. En primera instancia se mostrarán los fundamentos teóricos que hacen al entendimiento de la “empresa" como institución bajo la cual operan personas, dirigiendo la vista y centrándola en que la misma es un “grupo social", con personas, intereses, pensamientos y visiones diferentes, no solo un mero mecanismo de generación y movimiento lucrativo. Si nos adentramos más en el tema, se hará foco en el agravio de dichas relaciones entre personas con intereses disímiles, dando lugar al estudio de las empresas familiares como aglutinante de las personas que originan los conflictos. De los resultados obtenidos se obtendrá información acerca del conflicto como consecuencia de dichas relaciones. El conflicto y sus formas, problemáticas comunes, abordajes, manejos y soluciones, tanto a nivel general como específico a nivel de empresa y más aún, cuando se encara desde una óptica familiar, todo bajo el marco de la negociación como herramienta de abordaje y solución.

Este trabajo de investigación propone una alternativa de resolución de conflictos para las transiciones de una empresa familiar a lo largo de su historia. Cada vez que ingresa una nueva generación, provoca numerosos cambios en una empresa. Muchos de estos cambios son beneficiosos pero algunos de ellos pueden pueden ser devastadores si no se los anticipa y soluciona.

Na investigação desenvolvida em torno do efeito geracional, a análise dos problemas originados pela divergência de interesses entre gerações tem ganho relevância. A especificidade que as empresas familiares assumem, ao nível da assimetria de informação, da divergência de interesses nas relações estabelecidas e do peso que têm no setor empresarial, confere-lhes um papel relevante. O presente estudo procura perceber de que forma a geração condiciona a rendibilidade das empresas familiares. Os resultados obtidos sugerem que nas empresas com mais de cinco empregados, a gestão praticada pelo proprietário fundador é fonte de maior rendibilidade. Constatou-se também que, neste grupo de empresas, a propriedade de gestão exerce influência significativa sobre o desempenho das empresas na primeira geração, verificando-se que, à medida que aquela aumenta, o desempenho tende a diminuir.

The present objective study to inside identify the critical factors of success of the local family companies of a competitive boarding. For in such a way the same it understands the culture and the management of the family companies of success, identifies the essential areas of performance, it establishes the restrictive factors of the success, and analyzes the level of influence of the critical factors of success in the competitiveness of this type of company. In function of the subject little to be explored, and of this study to provide a general vision concerning the factors that take the family companies to get success, this research is explorer. On the other hand, for describing characteristic of the familiar companies in prominence in the local scene and for being worried about the practical performance, the same one also is descriptive. The sample in turn is the not-probabilist one of the intentional type, for accessibility. For operacionalization of the collection of data, the direct contact was used, being the composed instrument of research for variable as management, culture, critical factors of success and competitiveness. The study it evidences that in regards to the management and the culture of the family companies of success, some variable are turned aside from the standard of the conventional family companies cited by literature. Of general form in the familiar companies of success it has a bigger level of professionalization of the management. As for the value given to the knowledge, the study sample that the conventional family companies give little importance to it, in contrast of the family companies in prominence, who value of significant form the search for the knowledge. He is demonstrated despite the family companies of success, even so total are not professionalized, possess a bigger level of professionalization of the management, ratifying of certain forms the reason for which the majority develops the Strategical Planning formal periodically. In short, the results point 17 critical factors of success with respect to the family companies, in special factors as the product quality and services, and the use of the technology

El propósito principal es exponer un marco general de actuación para el consultor que incursiona en la intervención profesional con esta tipo de empresas. Para lograrlo, la metodología contempla la revisión de conceptos valorados en la literatura, frente a los cuales se reflexiona para proponer un modelo práctico y útil que beneficie al trabajo del consultor y la dinámica del sistema familia empresa.

No presente estudo procuramos analisar os determinantes do crescimento das empresas familiares portuguesas, através de uma amostra de empresas familiares membros da Associação de Empresas Familiares, durante o período de 2006 a 2014. Com vista ao teste das hipóteses em estudo foram utilizados dados em painel, com modelos de efeitos fixo e aleatório. A variável dependente definida foi o crescimento das vendas. As variáveis independentes definidas foram: dimensão; idade; endividamento; endividamento de curto prazo; endividamento de médio longo prazo; produtividade da mão-de-obra; estrutura do ativo; variável dummy da crise financeira; variável dummy da administração pertencer à família; e variável dummy do género do administrador. Os resultados obtidos confirmam a dimensão, a idade e o endividamento como determinantes do crescimento; ABSTRACT: In the present study we analyzed the determinants of growth of family businesses through a sample of family businesses members of the Family Business Association, during the period between 2006 and 2014. In order to test the hypotheses under study were used panel data, with models of fixed and random effects. The Sales growth was defined as the dependent variable. The independent variables were defined: size; age; debt; short-term debt; medium and long term debt; labor productivity; asset structure; dummy variable of the financial crisis; dummy administration belong to the family; and dummy administrator gender variable. The results confirm the size, age, and debt as determinants of growth.
