We investigate the source of information advantage in inter-dealer FX trading using data on trades and counterparty identities. In liquid dollar exchange rates, information is concentrated among dealers that trade most frequently and specialize their activity in a particular rate. In cross-rates, traders that engage in triangular arbitrage are best informed. Better-informed traders are also located on larger trading floors. In cross-rates, the ability to forecast flows explains all of the advantage of the triangular arbitrageurs. In liquid dollar rates, specialist traders can forecast both order flow and the component of exchange rate changes that is uncorrelated with flow.

Inter-dealer trading in US Treasury securities is almost equally divided between two electronic trading platforms that have only slight differences in terms of their relative liquidity and transparency. BrokerTec is more active in the trading of 2-, 5-, and 10-year T-notes while eSpeed has more active trading in the 30-year bond. Over the period studied, eSpeed provides a more pre-trade transparent platform than BrokerTec. We examine the contribution to ‘price discovery’ of activity in the two platforms using high frequency data. We find that price discovery does not derive equally from the two platforms and that the shares vary across term to maturity. This can be traced to differential trading activities and transparency of the two platforms.

F.R. [Francis Ramsey] Lalor (1856-1929) was born in St. Catharines, Ont. but lived most of his life in Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ont. He was a merchant and manufacturer. In 1903 he and a few partners founded the Monarch Knitting Co. Lalor was also an exporter of hardwood ashes used for agricultural purposes as fertilizer. Lalor was active in politics, he was a Conservative and the member of parliament for Haldimand, having been elected in the 1904, 1908, 1911 and 1917 elections. William Jaques lived in Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario. He was a junk dealer by profession.

A very small cabinet card type photograph of an unidentified man, possibly a relative of the Bell - Sloman family. A handwritten entry on the reverse of the photograph indicates it was taken by John S. Thom, of Lucan. No date is provided, however, John S. Thom is known to have been a photographer in Lucan from 1877-1882. This cabinet card was in the possession of Iris Sloman Bell, of St. Catharines. Relatives of the Sloman - Bell family include former African American slaves who settled in Canada.John S. Thom is listed as a photographer in Lucan, Ontario from 1877-1882. Aside from photography, he also operated a general store and sold notions. It appears he then moved to Sarnia, Ont. and is listed as a photographer there from 1882-1900. Kia Motors Corporation (KMC) tiene como objetivo desde hace algunos años, la creación e implementación de una solución de negocios enfocada en una gestión empresarial estandarizada a todos los distribuidores de Kia a nivel latinoamericano: Colombia, Perú, Ecuador y Chile. El proceso actual con el que cuentan los distribuidores en América Latina con sus concesionarios es enviar toda la información relacionada con los estatutos financieros a través de correo electrónico junto con una base de datos física, la cual se va archivando. El proceso es manual siendo de mucha dedicación y tiempo requerido para cumplir con las funciones pedidas. El enfoque actual de este proceso es claro: analizar el desempeño y rendimiento de cada uno de los concesionarios de la red junto con la identificación de oportunidades para mejorar. KMC junto con todos sus distribuidores están interesados en buscar un sistema de gestión empresarial sencillo, adecuado y de fácil manejo que permitirá únicamente a todos los concesionarios presentar sus estados de cuenta y desarrollo de una manera estandarizada a su distribuidor directamente. Entonces, el sistema deseado debe ser capaz de generar resultados basándose en lo comunicado por los distribuidores y proporcionar un conjunto de características bajo una adecuada funcionalidad para permitir a todos los usuarios de la red (concesionarios, distribuidores y KMC) analizar el rendimiento y desempeño de la empresa e identificar las áreas que requieren una mejora. En el siguiente documento, podremos ver el desarrollo que ha tenido METROKIA S.A para la creación y aplicación de una herramienta tecnológica (software) enfocada en lo mencionado anteriormente. Ha sido un proceso de varias etapas en donde tanto las variables como los indicadores de desempeño han tenido correcciones con el fin de poder ser leídos y entendidos fácilmente por toda la organización y red de concesionarios afiliados.

The exhibition held 15 paintings and covered over a year of work investigating the relationship of tonal interactions in a large body of work. This modulates suite of paintings comprised many enigmatic, mystical images, beautifully painted in a classical style. This is a solo exhibition of a series of metaphysical paintings, exhibited for the first time at a leading gallery in Brisbane.
