Perfil de leitores em um curso de licenciatura em química

The purpose of this study is to investigate the reading practice of undergraduate students of Chemistry, in a State University in Brazil. More specifically, we aim at showing students' habits and experiences concerning reading. Our research questions were: 1) What is the profile of readers in an undergraduate Chemistry course? 2) What can be perceived concerning students' reading experience? Results show that students' beliefs and practices are contradictory; although reading is considered by them as fundamental, they do not seem to have solid reading habits. This points to the necessity of rediscussing some aspects of Chemistry teacher formation.

The paper aims at analyzing the article by Gerson Lima on the manner by which fiscal deficit should be covered. It presents a more general dynamic model, where the principle of effective demand is explicitly used. By doing that, it is possible to treat as endogenous variables the national income and the government entries, what brings the result that the public debt must not follow an explosive path unless the very restrictive conditions of Lima's paper prevail. It also evaluates Lima's implicit inflation theory, and argues against his approximation to Friedman's framework.

This paper aims at replying critical commentaries made by Leite, F. P., Aggio, G. O. e Angeli, E. (this Review, 2009) on two Author's theses. The first one states that, if public deficit is to be financed, then either interest rate applied is negative or government invests as if it where a profit-making business enterprise. Otherwise, public debt will mathematically follow an explosive trend. The second one says that if there is no debt and public deficit is paid with money issuing, then the monetary stock will tend to an equilibrium level.

A partir do ensaio (1922) de Walter Benjamin sobre as Afinidades Eletivas de Goethe, o artigo tenta mostrar como Benjamin, desde esse ensaio de juventude até seu último texto, as teses "Sobre o conceito de história" (1940), defende uma noção de filologia crítica, capaz de evidenciar no detalhe material a distância histórica que separa a obra, em sua concretude histórica, do momento histórico do intérprete ou historiador. Somente o reconhecimento desse distanciamento permite não cair nas armadilhas da Einfühlung (identificação afetiva, empatia) hermenêutica e possibilita elaborar um posicionamento histórico e crítico.
