A estagnação do setor automotivo mundial e a urgência em reduzirem-se os custos e em aumentar a eficiência das operaçãoes de produção, fazem surgir a logística como ferramenta indispensável neste processo de evolução. Inserida neste cenário global,está a empresa GKN do Brasil (conhecida como GDB), uma multinacional inglesa do setor de autopeças que produz e fornece semi-eixos homocinéticos para a maioria dos automóveis e comerciais leves produzidos no país. O presente trabalho apresenta um estudo de caso desenvolvido a partir da análise dos resultados das Pesquisas de Satisfação, realizadas anualmente com clientes da empresa. Através desta análise, fica evidenciada a necessidade de uma atuação forte da empresa em relação ao seu desmpenho logístico, mais precisamente, sobre as entregas de seus pedidos. O objetivo deste trabalho é desenvolver para a GDB uma proposta de indicadores de desempenho de entrega mais adequados e integrados aos indicadores de seus clientes. Esses indicadores visarão aprimorar os níveis de entrega de pedidos da empresa e a satisfação de seus clientes. para tanto, foi desenvolvida uma nova, realizada pela autora, onde os clientes foram entrevistados acerca do assunto Indicadores de Desempenho de Entrega. Os dados obtidos com esta pesquisa foram cruzados com os mesmos dados pesquisados na GDB Com o cruzamento dos dados clientes e da GDB foi possível verificar os pontos carentes de atuação e que poderiam estar comprometendo a satisfação dos clientes. Para estes pontos fracos, foram propostas alternativas de melhorias com o intuito de melhorar o Processo de Indicadores de Desmpenho de Entregas da GDB. Estas propostas visam aproximar e a integrar os indicadores da GDB com os indicadores de seus clientes, de forma a possibilitar que clientes e GDB avaliem os mesmos critérios de performance logística. Conforme o cruzamento realizado entre estes indicadores, verificou-se que a GDB encontra-se com seus indicadores apenas com 46% deles conforme( ou de acordo) com os de seus clientes. Foram analisados oito indicadores e entre estes foram identificados os dois que contribuem em maior proporção para este índice de conformidade. Foi sugerida, primeiramente, uma atuação sobre esses dois indicadores que, consequentemente, apresenta um retorno considerável, elevando os 46% de conformidade para 73%. Porém, em um segundo momento, com a implantação de todas as propostas, o nível de conformidade dos indicadores da GDB é elevado para 96%. Isso, induz a sugerir que o uso dos indicadores de desempenho de entrega seja priorizado pela GDB, sendo utilizados a fim de correção e implantados, tão cedo quanto possível, objetivando alternativas mais concretas e efetivas, aprimorando, assim, seu indicador de desempenho de entrega e a consequente satisfação dos seus clientes.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo a apresentação do processo de implementação de um projeto-piloto de um sistema de custeio baseado em atividades numa indústria metalúrgica do ramo agrícola, Metasa S.A. Mais especificamente, o trabalho desenvolveu-se na apuração do custo do setor de assistência técnica aos produtos. No desenvolvimento das operações de atividades do setor, constatou-se que os mais importantes fatores causadores dos custos são: (1) entregas técnicas dos produtos agrícolas aos clientes, (2), assistência técnica aos produtos, (3) deslocamento dos técnicos para entrega e para assistência nos ajustes das máquinas na troca do plantio, regulagens, trocas de peças, consertos, reparos e manutenções. As despesas inerentes às atividades dos técnicos com peças de reposição, combustíveis, diárias, refeições e quilômetros percorridos são os fatores que traduzem da melhor forma o custo dos técnicos, pois, quanto maior o crescimento do número de máquinas faturadas pela empresa, maior será o gasto do setor da assistência técnica. A decisão de implementar o custeio baseado em atividades no setor evidenciou-se uma decisão correta porque se constitui numa ferramenta para o gerenciamento e análise dos custos visto de uma ótica diferente; foi importante também para os diretores como avaliação do impacto dos custos do setor sobre a rentabilidade do negócio e deverá ser utilizado em outros setores da empresa na área administrativa e comercial.

A presente dissertação tem como propósito básico, o estudo sistemático da estrutura e das funções do sistema de distribuição de veículos automotores na Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte. Para tal, considera as alterações no ambiente da indústria e suas conseqüências no "balanço de poder" (3) entre as instituições componentes do canal de distribuição, bem como as repercussões possíveis no perfil operacional e na dinâmica do sistema de distribuição de veículos automotores da RMBH.

The failure of materials is always an unwelcome event for several reasons: human lives are put in danger, economic losses, and interference in the availability of products and services. Although the causes of failures and behaviour of materials can be known, the prevention of such a condition is difficult to be guaranteed. Among the failures, wear abrasion by the low voltage is the kind of failure that occurs in more equipment and parts industry. The Plants Sucroalcooleiras suffer significant losses because of such attrition, this fact that motivated their choice for the development of this work. For both, were considered failures in the swing hammers desfibradores stopped soon after the exchange provided in accordance with tonnage of cane processed, then were analyzed by the level of wear testing of rubber wheel defined by the standard ASTM G65-91.The failures were classified as to the origin of the cause and mechanism, moreover, were prepared with samples of welding procedures according to ASME code, sec. IX as well, using the technique of thermal spraying to analyze the performance of these materials produced in laboratories, and compares them with the solder used in the plant. It was observed that the bodies-of-proof prepared by the procedure described as welding, and the thermal spraying the results of losing weight have been minimized significantly compared to the preparations in the plant. This is because the use of techniques more appropriate and more controlled conditions of the parameters of welding. As for the thermal spraying, this technique has presented a satisfactory result, but requires the use of these coatings in the best condition for real affirmation of the results

Over recent years the structural ceramics industry in Brazil has found a very favorable market for growth. However, difficulties related to productivity and product quality are partially inhibiting this possible growth. An alternative for trying to solve these problems and, thus, provide the pottery industry the feasibility of full development, is the substitution of firewood used in the burning process by natural gas. In order to contribute to this process of technological innovation, this paper studies the effect of co-use of ceramic phyllite and kaolin waste on the properties of a clay matrix, verifying the possible benefits that these raw materials can give to the final product, as well as the possibility of such materials to reduce the heat load necessary to obtain products with equal or superior quality. The study was divided into two steps: characterization of materials and study of formulations. Two clays, a phyllite and a residue of kaolin were characterized by the following techniques: laser granulometry, plasticity index by Atterberg limits, X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, mineralogical composition by Rietveld, thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis. To study the formulations, specifically for evaluation of technological properties of the parts, was performed an experimental model that combined planning involving a mixture of three components (standard mass x phyllite x kaolin waste) and a 23 factorial design with central point associated with thermal processing parameters. The experiment was performed with restricted strip-plot randomization. In total, 13 compositional points were investigated within the following constraints: phyllite ≤ 20% by weight, kaolin waste ≤ 40% by weight, and standard mass ≥ 60% by weight. The thermal parameters were used at the following levels: 750 and 950 °C to the firing temperature, 5 and 15 °C/min at the heating rate, 15 and 45min to the baseline. The results showed that the introduction of phyllite and/or kaolin waste in ceramic body produced a number of benefits in properties of the final product, such as: decreased absorption of water, apparent porosity and linear retraction at burn; besides the increase in apparent specific mass and mechanical properties of parts. The best results were obtained in the compositional points where the sum of the levels of kaolin waste and phyllite was maximal (40% by weight), as well as conditions which were used in firing temperatures of 950 °C. Regarding the prospect of savings in heat energy required to form the desired microstructure, the phyllite and the residue of kaolin, for having small particle sizes and constitutions mineralogical phases with the presence of fluxes, contributed to the optimization of the firing cycle.

This paper aims to conduct a study to evaluate and measure the possible impact that the unavailability of spare parts can have on customer satisfaction for car dealerships in the post-sales. A theoretical-conceptual review on the subject of satisfaction and loyalty, on the backdrop of the reality of the automobile market, allowed the construction of a research tool dedicated to collect opinions of car owners, to allow an analysis empirical relationship between the availability of parts, repairs or scheduled service possible, and change or stay on the mark on the occasion of change of vehicle. 236 forms were applied to car owners in the city of Natal / RN. The results obtained in this survey allowed the identification of the unavailability of parts as a significant factor, among others, the motivation for the customer to switch brands. Collaterally, we could also conclude that the dynamics of change in marks, whatever its motivation, is reflected in the perceived positions of the different brands as the market share both in strictly quantitative terms and in terms of relative positioning, with significant changes in the ranking of consumer preferences for different brands available

This Master s thesis presents a discussion on customer satisfaction models investigating the relations of antecedent variables service quality, price index, complaint handling, image, affective and calculative commitment, with satisfaction and loyalty. The scope of the research is the influence of service dimensions in the car buyer s satisfaction and loyalty. A sample of 91 customers was surveyed among new cars buyers of one brand in Natal city, Brazil, and the data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The literature review covers subjects such as customer satisfaction, management system, customer satisfaction measurement index models. The main findings suggest that satisfaction with the car brand is mainly influenced by customization of the service, time for accomplishing servicing, and the way the dealer handle complains. Regarding the dealer itself the main variable related to satisfaction is also time for accomplishing servicing. Considering customer loyalty, the customer satisfaction with the dealer explain strongly the loyalty with the brand/manufacturer. Also, the satisfaction, affective commitment and complains handling were found related to loyalty, as the stronger variables explaining the loyalty variance. One main conclusion is that service provided by dealers is one key factor influencing the customer satisfaction and loyalty in auto industry

Currently there is still a high demand for quality control in manufacturing processes of mechanical parts. This keeps alive the need for the inspection activity of final products ranging from dimensional analysis to chemical composition of products. Usually this task may be done through various nondestructive and destructive methods that ensure the integrity of the parts. The result generated by these modern inspection tools ends up not being able to geometrically define the real damage and, therefore, cannot be properly displayed on a computing environment screen. Virtual 3D visualization may help identify damage that would hardly be detected by any other methods. One may find some commercial softwares that seek to address the stages of a design and simulation of mechanical parts in order to predict possible damages trying to diminish potential undesirable events. However, the challenge of developing softwares capable of integrating the various design activities, product inspection, results of non-destructive testing as well as the simulation of damage still needs the attention of researchers. This was the motivation to conduct a methodological study for implementation of a versatile CAD/CAE computer kernel capable of helping programmers in developing softwares applied to the activities of design and simulation of mechanics parts under stress. In this research it is presented interesting results obtained from the use of the developed kernel showing that it was successfully applied to case studies of design including parts presenting specific geometries, namely: mechanical prostheses, heat exchangers and piping of oil and gas. Finally, the conclusions regarding the experience of merging CAD and CAE theories to develop the kernel, so as to result in a tool adaptable to various applications of the metalworking industry are presented

In recent decades, ceramic products have become indispensable to the technological development of humanity, occupying important positions in scientific production and consequently in industrial production. One area of the economy that continues to absorb large amounts of the products of this sector is Construction. Among the branches of the ceramic industry, there are the red ceramic industry which is traditionally the basis of that economic sector. Among the reasons for which the red ceramic industry became popular in the country, and specifically in Rio Grande do Norte, is the abundance of this raw material, easily found throughout the national territory. However, it appears that the red ceramic industry has deficiencies in technology and skilled labor, resulting in the production of ceramic goods with low added value. Among the factors that determine the quality of the ceramic products red has the proper formulation of the ceramic mass, the conformation and the firing temperature. Thus, the overall goal of this work is to study the mineralogical and technological properties, two clays from the region of the Wasteland Potiguar industrial ceramist. Therefore, the raw materials were characterized by analysis of Xray diffraction (XRD) analysis, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), particle size analysis (FA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical microscopy (OM ), plasticity index (PI), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The technological properties of the material were analyzed by water absorption tests (AA%) porosity (% PA), the linear shrinkage (RT%), apparent density (MEA), loss on ignition (PF%) and flexural strength three points (TRF)

The technique of ion nitriding, despite being fully consolidated in the industry, has great limitations when applied to the treatment of small parts. This is because effects that occur due to non-uniformity of the electric field, generate localized heating in parts, damaging the uniformity of nitrided layer. In addition, because the samples are treated static parts thereof are untreated. To expand the use of plasma nitriding, this work presents the development, assembly and testing of a prototype plasma reactor with rotatory cathodic cage [patent pending], able to meet these needs, giving the material a uniform treatment and opening doors to industrial scale production. The samples tested with hexagonal nuts are 6.0 mm in diameter, made of stainless steel AISI 304 nitrided at a pressure of 1 mbar in an atmosphere of 20% H2 + 80% N2 for 1 h. After treatment, testing visual inspection, optical microscopy and microhardness were carried out to check the effectiveness of the process for uniformity and hardness of the parts. All samples exhibited uniform color, and matte brownish, unlike the untreated samples, silver color and gloss. The hardness of the surface (top and sides) was 65% and even higher than the original hardness. The nitrided layer showed great uniformity in microstructure and thickness. It is concluded, therefore, that the unit was effective constructed for the purposes for which it was designed

This study aims to assess the potential for industrial reuse of textile wastewater, after passing through a physical and chemical pretreatment, into denim washing wet processing operations in an industrial textile laundry, with no need for complementary treatments and dilutions. The methodology and evaluation of the proposed tests were based on the production techniques used in the company and upgraded for the experiments tested. The characterization of the treated effluent for 16 selected parameters and the development of a monitoring able to tailor the treated effluent for final disposal in accordance with current legislation was essential for the initiation of testing for reuse. The parameters color, turbidity, SS and pH used were satisfactory as control variables and presents simple determination methods. The denim quality variables considered were: color, odor, appearance and soft handle. The tests were started on a pilot scale following complexity factors attributed to the processes, in denim fabric and jeans, which demonstrated the possibility of reuse, because there was no interference in the processes and at quality of the tested product. Industrial scale tests were initiated by a step control that confirmed the methodology efficiency applied to identify the possibility of reuse by tests that precede each recipe to be processed. 556 replicates were performed in production scale for 47 different recipes of denim washing. The percentage of water reuse was 100% for all processes and repetitions performed after the initial adjustment testing phase. All the jeans were framed with the highest quality for internal control and marketed, being accepted by contractors. The full-scale use of treated wastewater, supported by monitoring and evaluation and control methodology suggested in this study, proved to be valid in textile production, not given any negative impact to the quality the produced jeans under the presented conditions. It is believed that this methodology can be extrapolated to other laundries to determine the possibility of reuse in denim washing wet processing with the necessary modifications to each company.
