A música ajuda-me ... um estudo sobre a importância da disciplina de educação musical no desempenho escolar de alunos

A presente dissertação apresenta uma análise das práticas inclusivas desenvolvidas num estabelecimento de ensino público, no concelho de Sintra. Inspira-se numa concepção que privilegia a mudança, a cooperação e a motivação face a actividades musicais activas e experimentais. Analisam-se, também, os aspectos científico-pedagógicos fundamentais para a viabilidade das práticas educacionais inclusivas realçando os aspectos afectivos, sociais e motivacionais como sendo factores fundamentais, tendentes ao sucesso escolar dos alunos em particular os que apresentam Necessidades Educativas Especiais. Neste trabalho de investigação-acção pretendo realçar ainda, a contribuição importante que a música pode prestar aos projectos interdisciplinares, num trabalho conjunto entre escola/meio e formação social e pessoal dos alunos. Nesta perspectiva, a disciplina de Educação Musical assume assim, um papel preponderante no desempenho escolar dos alunos enquanto meio difusor e impulsionador de uma troca de valores culturais e ambientais em torno da nossa sociedade. Este trabalho abriu perspectivas de estudo acerca de um assunto que tem sido pouco trabalhado, apesar de se saber que a música em contexto de interajuda contribui para o desenvolvimento global dos alunos em geral, quer ao nível de relações interpessoais quer a nível de motivação face às aprendizagens escolares.

Ajuda-me: quero escrever sem erros : projecto de intervenção junto de aluno com dificuldades de leitura e escrita

RESUMO: Esta Intervenção - acção, pretende mostrar como se pode trabalhar com um aluno com dificuldades de aprendizagens especificas, nomeadamente e segundo relatórios psicológicos, “uma suposta dislexia”, usado um método de reeducação não muito utilizado em contexto escolar. Esse método é normalmente usado em contexto de consulta psicológica. O Método Fonomimico é um método com vários materiais que podem ser usados com qualquer criança ou jovens com dificuldades de aprendizagem. Numa primeira face da intervenção, foi feita uma pesquisa sobre educação inclusiva e a educação especial, nomeadamente em Portugal Na face seguinte, tentou-se mostrar o que é a dislexia, características e como se deve trabalhar com alunos que apresentem estas características. Em seguida foi apresentada a escola, o meio, a turma e a aluna-alvo. Foi realizada uma entrevista à professora da turma, com o objectivo de saber as suas expectativas em relação à aluna, expectativas essas que foram muito baixas. A sociometria mostrou que a aluna - alvo é bem aceite na turma, tendo em conta as suas dificuldades. Foram apresentadas também as planificações, quais os objectivos específicos para que a aluna pudesse apresentar evoluções ao nível da leitura, escrita e também na área espácio-temporal porque estas são as áreas onde a aluna apresenta maiores dificuldades. E por último foram apresentados os resultados desta intervenção, e concluiu-se que o método teve sucesso nesta aluna, a sua evolução na leitura e na escrita foi significativa e assim o Método Fonomimico, pode e deve ser usado em contexto escolar. ABSTRACT: This Intrevenção-action, to show how it can work with a student with specific learning difficulties, including psychological reports and the second, "an alleged dyslexia", used a method of rehabilitation not widely used in schools. This method is commonly used in the context of psychological consultation. Fonomimico the Method is a method with several materials that can be used with any child or youth with learning difficulties. A first side of the intervention was made a research on inclusive education and special education, particularly in Portugal in the next face, tried to show what is dyslexia, features and how to work with students who display these characteristics. Then was presented the school, the middle class and the target student. Interviews were held with the class teacher in order to know their expectations for student, expectations that were too low. Sociometry showed that the target student is well accepted in the class, taking into account their difficulties. We also presented the schedules, the specific objectives for which the student could produce changes in the reading, writing and also in the area espaçiotemporal because these are the areas where the student presents greater difficulties. Finally we presented the results of this intervention, and it was concluded that this method was successful student, their progress in reading and writing was so significant and the method Fonomimico can and should be used in schools.

A utilização do computador, como ajuda técnica, para estimular e reforçar as aprendizagens de um aluno com necessidades educativas especiais, na aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita

Este projecto de intervenção fundamentado nos pressuspostos e nos procedimentos da investigação-acção, centrou-se na utilização do computador, como ajuda técnica, e teve como objectivo estimular e reforçar as aprendizagens de um aluno com necessidades educativas especiais, na aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita, no âmbito da língua portuguesa e da socialização, em ambiente inclusivo. E foi a letra que utilizámos para identificar o aluno, que apresentava dificuldades de aprendizagem na leitura e na escrita, frequentava o 4º Ano, embora, de acordo com a sua professora, estivesse ao nível do 2º ano. Como as interacções na turma e com a turma são essenciais para a aprendizagem de todos, propusemo-nos implementar actividades específicas para o desenvolvimento da aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita de todos os alunos do turma e, particularmente, do aluno E, favorecendo as competências sociais de todos os alunos. Os objectivos definidos para o aluno E, bem como as actividades realizadas tendo o computador como recurso, permitiram-lhe fazer aprendizagens significativas nas competências académicas, tanto na leitura como na escrita. As actividades realizadas na sala de aula, permitiram que o aluno E se interessasse e conseguisse fazer parte das mesmas e principalmente da aprendizagem. Como tal foram usadas em sala de aula, abrangendo a turma numa aprendizagem conjunta e não diferenciada. Consideramos que esta intervenção permitiu uma mais-valia no nosso percurso e enriquecimento pessoal e profissional, consciencializando-nos para a importância de continuarmos a desenvolver estratégias que favoreçam sempre aprendizagens inclusivas para os alunos, não só com dificuldades de aprendizagem mas para todos os alunos com ou sem necessidades educativas especiais.

The re-identification of great bustard (Otis tarda) from Fishbourne Roman Palace, Chichester, West Sussex, as common crane (Grus grus)

This paper details the results of recent reanalysis of the animal remains from the 1960s excavations at Fishbourne Roman Palace, West Sussex. It argues that specimens originally identified as belonging to the great bustard are, in fact, misidentified remains of common crane. This discovery has important connotations. First, these findings need to be reported so that the avian archaeological record can be updated to avoid future syntheses of Romano-British faunal remains incorrectly including great bustard. Secondly, interpretations of the zooarchaeological remains at Fishbourne Palace will alter, due to the differing ecological histories of bustards and cranes.

The Patriarchal Palace at Constantinople in the seventh century: locating the Thomaites and the Makron

New archaeological evidence suggests that the important patriarchal buildings called the Thomaites and Makron were immediately south-west of the sixth-century church of Hagia Sophia, rather than to its north-east as usually supposed. These structures were built in the sixth-century, suggesting only limited rebuilding of the Patriarchate by patriarch Thomas in the early seventh century.

Entre histoire et fiction: la représentation du règne d'Arthur dans le manuscrit enluminé du Brut en prose, Londres, Lambeth Palace 6 (c. 1480)

The manuscript London, Lambeth Palace 6, contains the Middle English prose Brut, a text which benefited from a great popularity throughout the fifteenth century. It was copied by an English scribe and richly illuminated by the Master of Edward IV and his assistants at Bruges around 1480. This article studies the representation and integration of the reign of Arthur in the historical framework of the Brut or Chronicles of England, including its fictional aspects: Arthur emerges as a historical character but also as a chivalric and mythical figure. The analysis covers the miniatures ranging from the plot leading to the conception of Arthur to the end of his reign (fols. 36-66). The textual and iconographic choices of the prose Bruts are highlighted by comparisons with Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae, Wace’s Brut, and later prose rewritings in the Lancelot-Grail romance cycle, especially Merlin and its Vulgate Sequel. They show the continuous interest raised by Arthur in the aristocratic and royal circles of late fifteenth century England and the relationship be¬tween continental and insular historiographical, literary and artistic traditions.

Dwelling in the landscape: from Blairgowrie House to Portsea Palace

Ackerman begins his book "The Villa" (1995) with these words: 'A villa is a building in the country designed for its owner's enjoyment and relaxation .... [it] accommodates a fantasy which is impervious to reality.' He concludes: , ... the country, in exacting confrontations with the immanent brute forces and sensuous enchantments of nature, prompts inspired responses.' Blairgowrie House - the villa in the landscape - was built in the 1870s and the 'Portsea Palace' - a personal club med resort - in the late 1990s. The notion of an inspired response and the concept of dwelling poetically are manifestly absent in the Portsea Palace. Why?

This paper explores architecture and landscape - particularly 'domestic' architecture and coastal landscapes in Victoria's Nepean Peninsula. It looks closely at what architects mean when they say their design reflects place, relates to site, is climate specific, is close to nature, responds to the landscape, and/or is sensitive to the environment. Exemplars from different centuries are examined in their philosophical contexts and frames of reference. The complexities of the notion of place and identity, belonging, and dwelling (in the Heideggerian sense) are examined to identify the shift that has occurred over time as science and technology have ostensibly freed 'modern man' from 'a direct dependence on places' (Norberg Schultz). The alienation and loss that has eventuated - for humans and for the environment - will be critically analysed and assessed.
