El nivell d’acompliment de les recomanacions de les GPC de la ESC (European Society of Cardiology) per la SCASEST a l’Hospital de Sant Pau als mesos d’octubre a desembre del 2010 és subòptim, similar al d’altres centres americans i europeus, i roman invariable respecte les dades de 2006-2007. El servei de Cardiologia destaca en les recomanacions d’hàbits i control de factors de risc cardiovascular. Existeixen diferències poc rellevants entre els serveis de Cardiologia i Medicina Interna en les recomanacions farmacològiques. No s’ha objectivat una relació significativa entre la qualitat de la informació dels documents assistencials i l’adherència a les GPC.

Strategy selection during exploratory behavior: sex differences

This study was designed to assess sex-related differences in the selection of an appropriate strategy when facing novelty. A simple visuo-spatial task was used to investigate exploratory behavior as a specific response to novelty. The exploration task was followed by a visual discrimination task, and the responses were analyzed using signal detection theory. During exploration women selected a local searching strategy in which the metric distance between what is already known and what is unknown was reduced, whereas men adopted a global strategy based on an approximately uniform distribution of choices. Women's exploratory behavior gives rise to a notion of a secure base warranting a sense of safety while men's behavior does not appear to be influenced by risk. This sex-related difference was interpreted as a difference in beliefs concerning the likelihood of uncertain events influencing risk evaluation. A health promotion strategy: making the healthier choice the easier choice

The Primary Care Steering Group met on the 23rd and 24th September 2003 to discuss the ongoing implementation of the Primary Care Strategy in the context of the Health Service Reform Programme and to make recommendations in this regard to the Secretary General of the Department of Health & Children. At the outset the steering group acknowledges that the reform programme provides significant opportunity for the successful implementation of the primary care strategy. The implementation phase of ten project Primary Care Teams (PCTs) has to-date provided valuable information in relation to current barriers to successful implementation which may now be addressed within the overall reform process. Key themes arising from the discussions formed the basis for the recommendations which are considered by the steering group to be critical elements in achieving successful reform.
