A produção do espaço em cidades pequenas: o caso de Emilianópolis

In this paper we analyze some factors of urban life in small towns, among which we can highlight the political, economic and social, more specifically in the city of Emilianópolis, and its great dependence on other cities. The number of small towns has grown in recent years and this study shows is of great importance for understanding the differences that exist between them and the larger cities. Where Emilianópolis, having its location next to a city average (Presidente Prudente), we realize that its existence depends largely on the proximity of that with a bigger city. The study looked at the origin of the city, its spatial structure, its insertion into the urban network and the degree of dependence with other cities, notably Presidente Prudente, which generates a steady stream of people moving from Emilianópolis to study, work, leisure, between others, besides the permanent migration, which often makes life easier for those residents. With this study, we intend to demonstrate how Emilianópolis is inserted into the urban network, how is its interaction with other cities and how they live their inhabitants

Mídias radicais e a utilização do Culture Jamming: quebrando as barreiras construídas pelos veículos hegemônicos

This monograph aims to analyze the ability of the radical media to lead journalistic productions performed by O Globo during debates of the event Rio +20. The concentration of the major means of communication in the minor part of the population consolidates what can be called by hegemonic media. These media are primarily responsible for controlling the content viewed by a large portion of the population. Aiming a true plurality of information the alternative media day-by-day is looking for a bigger space within the communication market. Thus, the hegemonic media use capable tools to interfere in editorial policies consolidated by corporative media. One of those possible tools is the Culture Jamming, an activist action that interferes in a variety of marketing branches of communication. Therefore, having in its basis theorists such as John Downing and Perseu Abramo this study analyzed the journalistic content produced by the newspaper O Globo between the days 13 to 22 of June, in which the Rio +20 activities were held

Arquitetura da infraestrutura urbana: o terminal de integração

Um dos maiores problemas relacionados ao quotidiano das médias e grandes cidades é o trânsito e por meio dele percebemos os conflitos de circulação urbana e se os meios de transportes fluem de forma satisfatória. Segundo Vasconcellos (1999), transporte público é um conjunto de elementos físicos que se distribui espacialmente, atendendo a população que dele depende. Localizada no oeste do Estado de São Paulo a cidade de Presidente Prudente enfrenta, hoje, um grave problema no tocante à circulação e à eficiência dos meios de transportes públicos, sendo esse oneroso para a população que o usufrui. Em termos proporcionais a tarifa por quilômetro rodado é muito elevada, em comparação às grandes cidades do Estado de São Paulo e do Brasil. Sendo o transporte público parte essencial de uma cidade, o seu funcionamento deve estar de acordo com o crescimento da mesma e atender qualitativamente e quantitativamente seus usuários, propondo um adequado uso do espaço urbano. Diante de tal realidade, o projeto tem, por objetivo, fomentar a proposta de implantação de terminal urbano de transporte público, baseado no redesenho viário da principal centralidade da cidade... Análise de condicionantes geológico-geotécnicos para o rompimento de pequenas e médias barragens de terra: estudo de caso na bacia do rio Jaguari Mirim no município de São João da Boa Vista, SP

The act of containing water is one of the most practiced by the civilizations along history, in the will to increase the offer of water to many uses. The raise of environmental worries surround many human activities has given a big attention to dams. Indeed, the environmental consequences about dams are proporcional to their size, what gives to the big dams a more detailed Project and a bigger political concerning that increases the built, estability and maintenance of them. Then, the projects of medium and small dams are weak, limitaded to handbooks, textbooks and empirical recommendations, while the constructions of small dams are growing everytime more. With that being said, the present work intends to analise the geological and geotechnical conditionants that can cause break of small earth dams by making a case study in the Jaguari Mirim Watershed, located in the city of São João da Boa Vista (SP), and can be used to encourage the concern with small dams. In the area of study were identificaded, from satellite images, 248 dams. The map of physiographical compartmentalization defined by Pilachevsky (2013) was used to define the locations in the study área that would have bigger risk to the break of dams. Then, 9 of this dams were analised in field research, using references made by Cerri, Reis e Giordano (2011) and the risk of the analised dams were defined. A study about this type of structure is highly necessary to avoid big damages. An analysis of the geological and geotechnical conditionants that can cause break of dams guides the project in a way to avoid adverse consequences, especially when integrated with locacional conditions observed in the place of the dam’s building

Estudo das representações do mundo do trabalho de alunos do meio rural através do uso de mídias virtuais

This paper aims to present the representations of the working world of high school students, the State School Prof. Dr. João Deoclécio da Silva Ramos, Distrito de Talhado, São José do Rio Preto (SP), through the use of virtual media, specifically the Blog de Aula – Mutirão de Sociologia (www.mutiraodesociologia.com.br). Understanding the representations of the world work enables students to think of a profession which identify themselves, and stimulate reflection as future professionals. The virtual media, especially blogs, allow students to express their ways of living and thinking the world of work. In the context of the city of Rio Preto, is especially relevant these representations of the world’s rural work, so this project is to collaborate in the development of research concerned with the description and understanding of processes that involve relationships between work, education and rural.
