Imagens em diálogo: cultura visual no Brasil e México em perspectiva comparada

O objetivo deste artigo é averiguar a circulação de imagens e o surgimento de uma cultura visual política entre o México e o Brasil entre as décadas de 1920 e 1930. Busco examinar em especial como se constituíram repertórios visuais comuns entre os dois países, tanto na produção de imagens carregadas com uma retórica do engajamento político como de algumas imagens que num primeiro olhar poderiam passar por descompromissadas, mas que contribuíram para a construção do imaginário político. Embora minha intenção não seja de uma análise exaustiva, procuraremos averiguar diferentes suportes imagéticos, como as fotografias estampadas na imprensa diária assim como nas revistas ilustradas, cartazes, gravuras e demais expressões artísticas que subsidiem essa circulação de idéias estéticas e políticas entre os dois países. Parto da hipótese de que, apesar das dificuldades de intercâmbios existentes entre os dois países (língua, distância e falta de um contato maior entre seus artistas e intelectuais), ocorreu um intercâmbio de propostas políticas e culturais, principalmente entre redes de sociabilidade de artistas marcadamente no âmbito da esquerda política.

Direitos humanos e tutela penal: um diálogo marginal

Este livro traz reflexões a partir de ideias e teorias produzidas e difundidas pelo Núcleo de Estudos de Direitos Alternativo (Neda) e pelo Núcleo de Estudos da Tutela Penal e Educação em Direitos Humanos (NETPDH), ligados à Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais da Unesp, em Franca. Ambos os grupos são reconhecidos nos meios acadêmicos do Direito por desenvolverem uma visão crítica acerca de tutela penal, que seria permeada pela seletividade e desproporcionalidade, além de provocar estigmatização, reunindo, assim, traços marcantes do sistema penal brasileiro. De acordo com o prefácio do professor de Direito Penal e Criminologia da Unesp, Paulo César Corrêa Borges, o autor, Roberto Galvão Faleiros Junior, apresenta aqui reflexões da criminologia crítica que estabelecem uma compreensão conjuntural dos sistemas penais (particularmente o do Brasil).Tais reflexões indicam, segundo Borges, proposições concretas para a instrumentalização democrática do direito penal na América Latina, levando em conta os pressupostos materiais, históricos e dialéticos comprometidos com a formulação de concepções a partir das classes subalternas e marginalizadas, mas também com limitações referentes à compreensão dos direitos humanos

Vozes periféricas: expansão, imersão e diálogo na obra dos Racionais MC's

This paper presents a reflection on the work of the rap group from São Paulo Racionais MC's, highlighting points of dialogue between his last two studio albums: Sobrevivendo no inferno, 1997, and Nada como um dia após o outro, 2002. We found, in this discursive course, the presence of voices which intertwine and indicate a collectivized speech, seeking the identification between the slums and the group's rhetoric, but they also point out to an immersion into the subjectivity, to the problematization of the discourse itself, acting as a form of debugging of the social experience in the favela. We argue further that Sobrevivendo no inferno represents a turning point in the thinking of the quartet. Thus, themes and perspectives present, although embryonically, in the first focused album, point to dramas that take shape in the second one.

A racionalização das tradições na modernidade: o diálogo entre Anthony Giddens e Jürgen Habermas

Based on the reflections of Habermas and his conception of modernity, understood as an unfinished project, Giddens stresses that in all societies the maintenance of personal identity and its connection to broader social identities is a primordial requirement for ontological security. To achieve ontological security, modernity had to (re) invent traditions and get away from genuine traditions, that is, those values radically linked to the pre-modern past. This is a character of the discontinuity of modernity, the separation between what is presented as the new and that which persists as the legacy of the old. This article discusses the relationship between tradition and modernity and the dialogue between Giddens and Habermas. The goal is to identify the points of contact and the differences in the theses defended by both authors, in order to assess their contributions to discussions of the rationalization of contemporary societies. Late or reflexive modernity is an uninterrupted process of changes that affect the foundations of Western society. Faced with a reality of constant change, it is necessary to choose between the certainty of the past and a new reality of continuous change. In this sense, and according to the Habermasian perspective, the reflexive character of modernity is found in this process of choosing between the certainties inherited from the past and new social forms, a process that that leads to the reflection on - or even the recasting of - social practices, causing the rationalization and (re) invention of various aspects of life in society.

Proposta de um protocolo de terapia celular para o tratamento da doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica

The main feature of pulmonary emphysema is airflow obstruction resulting from the destruction of the alveolar walls distal to the terminal bronchioles. Existing clinical approaches have improved and extended the quality of life of emphysema patients. However, no treatment currently exists that can change the disease course and cure the patient. The different therapeutic approaches that are available aim to increase survival and/or enhance the quality of life of emphysema patients. In this context, cell therapy is a promising therapeutic approach with great potential for degenerative pulmonary diseases. In this protocol proposition, all patients will be submitted to laboratory tests, such as evaluation of heart and lung function and routine examinations. Stem cells will be harvested by means of 10 punctures on each anterior iliac crest, collecting a total volume of 200 mL bone marrow. After preparation, separation, counting and labeling (optional) of the mononuclear cells, the patients will receive an intravenous infusion from the pool of Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells (BMMC). This article proposes a rational and safe clinical cellular therapy protocol which has the potential for developing new projects and can serve as a methodological reference for formulating clinical application protocols related to the use of cellular therapy in COPD. This study protocol was submitted and approved by the Brazilian National Committee of Ethics in Research (CONEP - Brazil) registration number 14764. Expressão da proteína nuclear de proliferação celular (PCNA), da B-Catenina e do Agnor, na etapa inicial do processo de carcinogênese quimicamente induzido pelo DMBA, em borda lateral de língua de hamsters sírio dourado(Mesocricetus auratus)

The oral cancer model in hamsters shows many simílarities with developmental oral cancer in humans. The proliferating capacity is one the most characteristics of neoplásica ce/Is and detection of these ce/Is allow us, throughout of its counting, to achieve an estimated tumour growing index, with a consequent repercussion about prognostic and in the treatment of those lesions. 40 golden Syrian hamsters, both genders, aged between two to six mouth and weight 150g in average were used. The left síde of tangue of each animal was painted for eight consecutive weeks, with a solution of DMBA. Tongues were removed, fixed in 10% buffered fonnal solution. The histological slides were stained by AgNOR technique and by PCNA and β-catenin immunohistochemical antibodies. Statistical analyzes were performed by ANOVA one-way test and Tukey test. We may conclude that an association between AgNOR and PCNA might indicate the higher proliferating activity of the analyzed celIs. The experimental carcinogenesis model in hamster tongue is an available methodology for immunohistochemistry study. And finally, PCNA and β-catenin immunohistochemical antibodies may be used to analyze possible premalignant areas in oral leukoplakia
