With the purpose of provide students with the practical contact with the operation of a thermoelectric plant, the steam plant Laboratory College of Engineering Guaratinguetá was restored, this work was undertaken so that the necessary equipment was specified for this steam plant had their instrumented processes, enabling greater precision of the measurements performed in the tests and also storing your information. The instrumentation of the plant is to approximate the practices carried out in the laboratory with real situations encountered in industrial steam plant, thus collaborating with the most comprehensive training of students and ensuring the safety of operations performed in the laboratory

Estudo e modelagem 3D de um cabeçote para um motor monocilíndrico, 400cc, 4 T

The cylinder head contains the combustion chamber for the air-fuel mixture and the intake and exhaust valves, the valve guide and the valve seat. The cylinder head also is a support for the camshaft and valve rocker. The holes where the spark plugs are connected are designed to fit the better place in the combustion chamber. The cylinder heads often are manufactured using materials such as aluminum and cast iron. The cooling fins located in the outside of the cylinder head are designed for a good heat transfer and therefore their dimensions and positioning are important. This work aims the calculation for a cylinder head to be installed in a 400 cc displacement, gasoline powered, four stroke, single cylinder engine. According to the displacement it will be analyzed the combustion chamber, the intake and exhaust valves, as well as the camshaft and rocker arms. This also a work to help to accomplish the design of a single cylinder engine, where the alternatives parts, cylinder block and crankcase are all already machined and assembled in this campus

Fresamento de Eucalyptus grandis

The process of milling wood is widely used in operations such as planing and manufacturing frames . Machines like planers , desengrossadeiras , routers , moldureiras and machining centers employ the milling process for cutting wood . In this work the process of milling CNC machining center of Eucalyptus grandis was studied because this is very much used in furniture , but without consistent studies on this process . This work a CNC machining center brand TECH Z1 for analysis of surface quality ( Ra ) in relation to the variation of cutting speed and feed in concordant and discordant tangential milling and face milling was used . We used Eucalyptus grandis . Four forward speeds ( 3, 5 , 7, and 9 m / min ) for four shear rates ( 5,9; 8,4; 10,9 and 13,4 m/s ) were used. Was used for testing a cutter finishing top speed steel with helical teeth 16mm in diameter . 6 repetitions for each test condition were performed . From the results it was observed that the best results for roughness Vc = 10,9 m / s were obtained for the milling concordant with the forward speed Vf = 7 m / min. As for Vf = 5 m / min the best finish was achieved with Vc = 8,4 m /s in discordant for milling . The feedrate and cutting influenced the roughness . The senses of concordant and discordant and cut the top and the top had a significant difference in roughness

Utilização de reforço geossintético em vias ferroviárias

This report analyses the use of geosynthetics in railways for subgrade reinforcement and separation of the track layers. Cases of instrumented test sections were studied. These test sections were located in Australia (with geocomposite applications), Brazil (with geotextile and geodrid applications) and China (with geotextile and geodrid applications). Railway design methods using geosynthetics applications were analyzed as well. Based on a studied case for implementation of geosynthetics in a German railway, a railway track was simulated with and without the use of geosynthetics, respectively on PLAXIS v.8 and FERROVIA 3.0 softwares. The performance benefits of the geosynthetics applications in railways were, therefore, confirmed, based on the simulation results

The objective of this paper is to discuss the construction of the image of São Paulo state public schools teachers in the public sphere, by the media and the trade union press, and see how that image is formed in both of them, without making any comparisons, from the covering of 2010 strikes by newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and Jornal da Apeoesp. This paper uses as theoretical basis the study of Media Hegemony, the concept of Radical Media and Public Sphere, as well as the relationship between them and social movements. It also considers the observation of the history and characteristics of trade union press and the Standards of Manipulation by the Press, proposed by Perseu Abramo. The chosen method was the identification, selection and organization of stories about education published by Folha de S. Paulo during the period; the application of Abramo’s proposed manipulation standards on the stories about the strike; research, selection and observation of print publications (Jornal da Apeoesp and newsletters Apeoesp Urgente) about the strike, published by Apeoesp during the same period

Análise da vibração para o controle do funcionamento de um ventilador de um sistema de exaustão

This work has as objective to show the vibrational analysis as a method of predictive maintenance as an auxiliar procedure in the fail detection in equipments, most specifically in the rotative ones, and with that help the maintenance team to have conditions to foresee the right time to do the swap of the components of the systems, what would lead to failures. Knowing the exact moment the resources of people and money can be focused in the critic operations to the plant. This technic has been already studied for more then 30 years and was widely used in this work, not only as an equipment condition verification method, but also, after the equipment replacement, was used to prove that the new fan was operating under the best work conditions and with that maintenance could return to contol the vibration level of the equipment, not being necessary any kind of intervention

Cidade simbiótica: resgatando possibilidades

O projeto em questão trata-se da tentativa de criar um outro tipo de cidade dentro da cidade já estabelecida. Uma cidade em maior sintonia com a escala humana, que possibilite outras formas de vivência no espaço urbano. Uma cidade que valorize o meio ambiente e as relações humanas possíveis com ele, excluindo as possibiidades de degradação mútua. Um projeto de cidade que num primeiro momento pode dar a impressão parecer-se com uma ilha no oceano ou um oásis no deserto, mas que tem a possíbilidade de se expandir por suas características físicas e pelos próprios vetores que o ambiente e a antiga cidade proporcionam.No caso deste projeto seus vetores são a princípio o rio, as áreas industriais vazias ou subutilizadas e também seus equipamentos de mobilidade urbana

Análise da influência do torque de montagem na resistência de parafusos de fixação

Whereas the assembly torque calculation has great importance on efficiency and life of bolts, the objective of this study was to analyze the combined stresses during assembly, the friction coefficient, compare the rupture torque results with the indicated torques by standards and to present a new torque method without the stress combination (shear stress and normal stresses). For this study were carried eighteen tests with different diameters and materials, this bolts were undergoing five ranges torque until the breaking torque. With the experimental rupture torque values for each test and with the bolt quality certificate was possible to calculate the friction coefficient so compared with the theory. Another comparison was the experimental rupture torque with assembly torque indicated by NBR-8800 and ASME-PCC. The main conclusion are related to combined stress, because for this factor can fail at the assembly time, so for in some cases must use the tensioning method, because in this method won't be present torsional stresses

Eles e Elas: comparação intersexual na categorização social e formação das primeiras impressões em seres humanos

O objetivo da presente pesquisa foi compreender, sob uma perspectiva evolucionista, os mecanismos, preferências e as diferenças sexuais subjacentes a uma análise as primeiras impressões em seres humanos. Investigamos: (1) ocorrências de diferenças sexuais na categorização social e na formação das primeiras impressões; (2) a influência do sexo e da cor de pele e (3) ocorrência de preconceitos (com relação ao sexo e/ou a cor de pele do sujeito estímulo) e suas influências na formação das primeiras impressões. Para isso, tratamos de expor uma amostra de 43 indivíduos ( 17 a 34 anos) à oito vídeos (4 perfis: homens negros e brancos, mulheres brancas e negras) com duração de 20’’ cada. Durante o procedimento experimental foi requerido que o participante respondesse a um questionário (escala likert; 0-6). Nesse, o participante avaliava a atratividade física, a competência, sucesso na carreira, agressividade, confiabilidade, atribuía uma nota para a cor da pele, e qualidade geral. Foi feito um teste GLM com medidas repetidas e post hoc teste t student pareado, a fim fazer uma análise mais detalhada das diferenças encontradas nas avaliações. Nossos resultados apontam que a característica que afeta mais a avaliação tanto de homens como das mulheres é a atratividade física, o que foi possível concluir que as outras características em análise é menos dependente da primeira impressão e construída ao longo do convívio. As mulheres tendem a fazer uma avaliação mais minuciosa, o que corrobora outros estudos sobre diferenças sexuais. Devido ao pequeno N, não possível analisarmos a influência da cor da pele do sujeito estímulo na avaliação, evidenciando a necessidade de ampliação futura desse projeto. Inspeção de Precaução de Contato: relato de Experiência de uma Graduanda de Enfermagem Botucatu

Infections Related to Healthcare (IRAS) is a problem of worldwide concern, responsible for much morbidity and lethality. The incidence of IRAS associated with resistant microorganisms has increased worldwide. It is also known that the etiology of bacterial resistance is multifactorial, thus controlling the spread of resistant microorganisms requires the implementation of control measures that involve the performance of standard and contact precautions, plus the use of antimicrobials. To diagnose the problem as to the likely accession of the measures of infection control was prepared in a form to inspect the practices of the health staff acting with patients in contact precautions. The inspections had an educational and awareness, no punitive measures were taken to staff as warnings, suspensions or complains of a breach of ethics. If any irregularities were found, the professional standards of care countershaft contact and the nurse responsible for the head nurse or unit area were notified and counseled about the correct practice of isolation. While an undergraduate student initiated precautionary inspections of contact in order to verify the actual use of isolation measures, since the professionals were unaware of my active participation in the Committee on Infection Control. Facilities and difficulties were encountered in the process, and from the inspections was possible interventions to facilitate compliance with standards for isolation imposed by contact. Since the instrument has significantly improved adherence to contact isolation practices, the members of the Infection Control regulated inspections and intend to use it as a permanent method

Crise do modelo do jornalismo comercial e emergência do jornalismo cidadão

Corporative media, represented by TV, radio, press and internet conglomerates, is responsible for the biggest portion of audience and public all over the world. The commercial media was built upon media concentration and monopoly strategies and this business aims society’s economic and political control. Unfortunately, they don’t represent the biggest portion of population’s interests and, because of that, corporative media faces a crisis moment while alternative means of communication rise from the initiative of professionals who are committed to society’s marginalized sectors. Radical media intends to express a variant vision about hegemonic policies, priorities and perspectives. Citizen journalism is one of radical media arms and this research proposition is to analyze the business model of commercial media in Brazil and in the world, its means of production, and compare them with citizen journalism methods. This work also intends to analyze radical media and how it is opposite to corporative media by studying Escola de Notícias, an educommunication project from São Paulo

To perform the project of the conclusion of major, there was a need to study how the sport broke into television, how the sports broadcast is carried out by television media, which are the elements used for their coverage of sports events, especially football ones, and the effects that this broadcasting causes in society

Sensores de amônia à base de polianilina preparados com impressora jato de tinta

Neste trabalho, apresenta-se o desenvolvimento de um sensor de gás amônia sobre substrato de papel, impresso por jato de tinta térmico. Para a realização do trabalho formulou-se uma “tinta”4 de polianilina (PANI), adequada para uso na impressora térmica. Neste tipo de impressão, é necessário que a tinta de PANI seja preparada de forma que a maior parte do seu volume seja de água. A PANI, em seu estado desdopado, foi dissolvida em n-metil-2-pirrrilidona (NMP), e com a adição de água em determinadas condições de preparo e proporção, foi possível formar uma tinta de PANI/NMP/H2O estável e adequada para o uso na impressora térmica, podendo-se assim depositar filmes de PANI sobre substratos flexíveis, como por exemplo, diversos tipos de papéis. Neste trabalho, tintas de PANI foram depositadas sobre papel comum (sulfite) e papel fotográfico (glossy). A caracterização morfológica, por microscopia ótica, indicou que a qualidade dos filmes foi satisfatória em termos de uniformidade e homogeneidade. A resistividade de superfície dos filmes de PANI, sobre substratos de papel sulfite e fotográfico, é da ordem de 1x109 / , quando desdopado, e 1x104 / , quando dopado com vapor de ácido clorídrico (HCl). As caracterizações elétricas AC sugerem que os filmes de PANI desdopados, sobre ambos os substratos, se comportam similarmente a um circuito equivalente RC, formado por um resistor e um capacitor em paralelo. On the field of the projects of hydraulic systems exists a lot of worries when we talk about the calculate of hydraulic pumps. In this case some facts must be considerate: length of tubes, fluid characteristics, height gauge, temperature, pressure, characteristics of tubes, flow required and others. For that mathematic calculates must be developed with the objective to optimize hydraulic pumps and agree to find an ideal machine (that don't requires more energy than necessary or less energy than it requires; that is the more critical case, cause exists the risk that the fluid pumped do not agree to become in your destiny). The wrong calculate of this machine can super-size its, bringing an excessive energy consumption. Actually it's an important subject because we are in the age of lack of energy what turn it more expensive. So the correct sizing of a hydraulic pump is connected with the fact that you have to uses the enough energy resources avoiding waste. The calculate of ideal pump in the pumping system is studied during years and a lot of specialists in this subject develop equations and theories to calculate its. Some researches study about this subject and all of them become to the same conclusion: to find the ideal pump we have to know the characteristics of fluid (cinematic viscosity), the required flow , overall yield (overall of motor x overall of pump) the high gauge or discharge pressure and the loss of repression. The pressure drop can be calculated with different theories: using Hazen-Williams, Darcy e Weisbach or Chézy (1775 - that starts the researches to calculate the pressure drop). The objective of this work is to compare how manifests the ideological positioning in the hegemonic media productions, according to Gramsci's conception, in relation to the radical alternative media, proposed by John Downing.
