Segundo forum internacional sobre la gestión de los documentos electrónicos

El pasado mes de octubre tuvo lugar en Bruselas el segundo DLM-Forum on electronic records, que bajo el título ¿European citizens and electronic information: the memory of the information society¿ reunió a más de 400 expertos internacionales en la gestión de los documentos informáticos con valores administrativos e históricos. Durante los días 18 y 19 el centro de conferencias Charlemagne de Bruselas acogió las sesiones plenarias y las distintas comunicaciones presentadas en las reuniones paralelas.

Investigación y desarrollo en preservación digital: un balance internacional

Se presenta una panorámica de las acciones de investigación y desarrollo en preservación digital en el ámbito internacional, incluyendo un apartado dedicado a la situación en España. La mayor atención se da en las aplicaciones de preservación digital en bibliotecas y archivos, pero también se presenta someramente la situación en otros entornos como los repositorios institucionales, los archivos administrativos, los archivos personales, la industria aeroespacial y los museos. El análisis de los protagonistas de la investigación lleva a destacar el papel preeminente de algunas bibliotecas y archivos nacionales, de determinados países y una incipiente entrada de empresas de software. En cuanto a las líneas de investigación destaca la integración de herramientas para generar sistemas de preservación integrados.

El dret de préstec a les biblioteques: panorama internacional

The article analyses the functioning of the different systems employed for compensating authors for the right of public lending in libraries. Following a historical review, the text explores the principal aspects covered by standards: libraries included, works affected, methods for calculating the compensations, economic costs of the systems and beneficiaries. The main conclusions make reference to the diversity of legislative approaches in different countries and to the probable increase in the number of countries that will be applying this type of norm in the coming years

We review the participation of the Faculty of Library Sciences and Documentation of the University of Barcelona in the Erasmus program since 1993. In general, student participation has been low. We present the results of a study conducted in May 2007 among the students of the Faculty, designed a) to assess their experience of the Erasmus program and their evaluation of it and b) to promote student participation. Though the vast majority of students have heard of the Erasmus program, their awareness of specific aspects of the program is relatively low
