A Comparison of Radiation Dose Between Standard and 3D Angiography in Congenital Heart Disease

Background: The use of three-dimensional rotational angiography (3D-RA) to assess patients with congenital heart diseases appears to be a promising technique despite the scarce literature available. Objectives: The objective of this study was to describe our initial experience with 3D-RA and to compare its radiation dose to that of standard two-dimensional angiography (2D-SA). Methods: Between September 2011 and April 2012, 18 patients underwent simultaneous 3D-RA and 2D-SA during diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Radiation dose was assessed using the dose-area-product (DAP). Results: The median patient age and weight were 12.5 years and 47.5 Kg, respectively. The median DAP of each 3D-RA acquisition was 1093µGy.m2 and 190µGy.m2 for each 2D-SA acquisition (p<0.01). In patients weighing more than 45Kg (n=7), this difference was attenuated but still significant (1525 µGy.m2 vs.413µGy.m2, p=0.01). No difference was found between one 3D-RA and three 2D-SA (1525µGy.m2 vs.1238 µGy.m2, p = 0.575) in this population. This difference was significantly higher in patients weighing less than 45Kg (n=9) (713µGy.m2 vs.81µGy.m2, P = 0.008), even when comparing one 3D-RA with three 2D-SA (242µGy.m2, respectively, p<0.008). 3D-RA was extremely useful for the assessment of conduits of univentricular hearts, tortuous branches of the pulmonary artery, and aorta relative to 2D-SA acquisitions. Conclusions: The radiation dose of 3D-RA used in our institution was higher than those previously reported in the literature and this difference was more evident in children. This type of assessment is of paramount importance when starting to perform 3D-RA.

Der psychologische Arbeitsvertrag und sein Schutzfaktoren-Potential : Erkenntnisse für das Setting Arbeitsplatz

Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit stellt im Rahmen einer systematischen Literaturrecherche den Forschungsstand zum Konzept des psychologischen Arbeitsvertrages im deutschsprachigen Raum vor. Anhand der Studienergebnisse aus Datenbankrecherchen wird das gesundheitsförderliche Potential tragfähiger psychologischer Arbeitsverträge ermittelt. Durch die Einbettung des Konzeptes des psychologischen Arbeitsver-trages in Modelle zur Erklärung psychosozialer Arbeitsbelastungen werden Parallelen aufgezeigt und der Mehrwert des Konzeptes herausgearbeitet. Aus der Verknüpfung der gewonnenen Ergebnisse werden Erkenntnisse für das Setting Arbeitsplatz abgeleitet. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass eine als mangelhaft wahrgenommene Reziprozität mit einer ähnlichen Stärke als Stressor wirkt, wie tätigkeitsbezogene Stressoren. Werden psychologische Arbeitsverträge gebrochen, kann es zu Loyalitätsverlusten, innerer Kündigung, tatsächlicher Kündigung, aber auch zu Depressionen und psychosomatischen Erkrankungen kommen. In tragfähigen psychologischen Arbeitsverträgen wirken Gerechtigkeitsempfinden, Anerkennung, Wertschätzung und Vertrauen als Jobressourcen. Diese vom Arbeitgeber gebotenen Jobressourcen können Belastungen von Mitarbeitern abpuffern und gesundheitsfördernd wirken.

A Novel Memory-centric Architecture and Organization of Processors and Computers

The modern computer systems that are in use nowadays are mostly processor-dominant, which means that their memory is treated as a slave element that has one major task – to serve execution units data requirements. This organization is based on the classical Von Neumann's computer model, proposed seven decades ago in the 1950ties. This model suffers from a substantial processor-memory bottleneck, because of the huge disparity between the processor and memory working speeds. In order to solve this problem, in this paper we propose a novel architecture and organization of processors and computers that attempts to provide stronger match between the processing and memory elements in the system. The proposed model utilizes a memory-centric architecture, wherein the execution hardware is added to the memory code blocks, allowing them to perform instructions scheduling and execution, management of data requests and responses, and direct communication with the data memory blocks without using registers. This organization allows concurrent execution of all threads, processes or program segments that fit in the memory at a given time. Therefore, in this paper we describe several possibilities for organizing the proposed memory-centric system with multiple data and logicmemory merged blocks, by utilizing a high-speed interconnection switching network.

Setting: There exists very little supportive valuation literature for the valuation of industrial properties and the present state of research is capable of improvement. Objective: A critical examination of the procedure for the determination of the market value of industrial properties in accordance with § 194 Building Code will be made on the basis of the relevant valuation literature. Based on using standard valuation practices there should be a ground value derived for an industrial estate. Conclusion: When valuing industrial properties economic use is crucial, therefore the income approach is applied in order to attain the market value of the property. Difficulties which may arise include customary approaches for rent, property management costs and interest rates. Based on a Germany-wide cross-comparison with other automobile-producing properties a plausible range for the derivation of the groundvalue was determined. At the time of submission, the determination of the ground value by the expert Committee was unfinished.

Erstellung und Lokalisierung von EPUB-Dokumenten

Because of the transformation of the mainstream of information media nowadays, it is vital to constitute a standard of electronic publishing in this emerging field. EPUB is the key standard of the organization IDPF, which is the official standard format for digital books. The present dissertation aims at creating and localizing EPUB documents of the module handbook for the master's degree program software localization at Anhalt University of applied Sciences (Hochschule Anhalt) from German into Chinese as example. This dissertation describes the technical and theoretical foundations of e-book formats and represents especially the structures and features of EPUB. In order to spread the information widely in the world, localization of the products plays an important role. An introduction of localization technology and localization tools is constructed and included in the project. The work processes are mentioned, so as to show, how to translate an EPUB document and ensure good quality. The summary and the view of EPUB are illuminated at the end.

Organization of the cysts in bee (Hymenoptera, Apidae) testis: number of spermatozoa per cyst

The morphology of the cyst cells in Apis mellifera Linné, 1758, Scaptotrigona postica Latreille, 1804, and Melipona bicolor bicolor Lepeletier, 1836 testis, as well as the average number of spermatic cells are reported. The data indicates a supporting and nourrishing role of the cyst cells to the developing cystocytes. The counts of immature spermatozoa in the cysts show an average of 202.8 ± 21.2 spermatozoa for A. mellifera, 117.4 ± 8.68 for S. postica and 88.8 ± 15.57 for M. bicolor, which predict the occurrence of 8 mitotic cycles in the cystocytes of A. mellifera and 7 in the meliponines, considering that only one spermatozoom originates of each final spermatogonium.
