This study aimed to conduct a review in most articles relating mastitis and reproduction. Mastitis affects the reproduction according to its time of occurrence and agent. Mastitis affects the interval interestrus and also increases the number of days open, the number of services per conception, the abortion rate and decreases the conception rate. The inflammatory reaction generated by mastitis and all the toxins produced by bacteria alter the entire endocrine profile of cows that experienced episodes of mastitis and thus affect their reproduction

The use of pesticides in Brazil has intensified over the years. And since 2009 it was ranked as the largest market for pesticides worldwide. The consequential diffuse contamination of the environment is therefore due to the increasing number of chemicals of different classes, origins and modes of action. Little is known about the action of pesticides on human health in situations of co-exposure. Possible toxic effects are not restricted to agricultural and industrial workers, but also the general population that may be exposed continuously to its residues in food and water. Although these pesticides are mostly present in the environment at low doses, it must be considered that possible cumulative or synergistic effects may occur when there are concurrent or sustained exposure for two or more of these agents, which can lead to late manifestation of subclinical damages, sometimes irreversible. Thus, the specific objective of this study was to assess the effect of carcinogenesis promotion of a mixture of pesticides at low doses and analyze the phenomena of cell proliferation and apoptosis in rat liver. A total of 50 male Lewis rats was separated into 5 groups for 8 weeks in a medium term hepatocarcinogenesis model. The three different classes of pesticides (dieldrin, dicofol, endosulfan, dichlorvos and permethrin), whose residues were detected by ANVISA during the period from 2001 to 2005 in tomatoes cultures, were added to the feed of rats initiated to hepatocarcinogenesis with diethylnitrosamine (DEN- 200mg/kg ip). We used two different mixtures, one with no toxic effects at doses (MEX1) referring to the NOEL (no-observed-effect level) and another at doses LOEL / LEL / LOAEL (Lowest-observed-effect level / Lowest-effect level / Lowest -observed-adverse-effect level), to the installation of adverse effects (MEX2), derived from chronic studies. Pneumonia is a respiratory disease that most affects the cattle, especially calves, which according to their anatomical and physiological characteristics are more susceptible to respiratory diseases compared to other large mammals. Therefore, prevention of pneumonia is a key factor to minimize the possible economic losses generated by the early involvement of a calf by these diseases, which can cause a decrease in animal development. Despite the multifactorial etiology and classification on the types of pneumonia is still subject of discussion, most pneumonias are in three categories: bronchopneumonia, interstitial pneumonia and metastatic pneumonia, the first being the most important among them. Clinical signs vary with the cause, but are classified as medical conditions ranging since subclinical to clinically irreversible. Treatment depends on the clinical experience and can associate drugs for alleviating the symptoms with anti-inflammatories and antibiotics. Thus, premature diagnosis is directly linked to prognosis, treatment costs and spread of the disease

Function of the uterus is often compromised in cattle by bacterial contamination of the uterine lumen after parturition. Pathogenic bacteria often persist, causing uterine disease, a major cause of infertility in cattle. Knowledge of the immunological aspects of the uterus involved in maintaining reproductive healthiness is fundamental to the study of uterine infections that affect the uterus postpartum. Polymorphonuclear leukocytes have an important role because they are the first line of defense against colonization of bacteria in utero (Hammon and Goff, 2006). The establishment of uterine infection depends in parts of endocrine environment, particularly progesterone, which suppresses the immune system (Lewis, 2003). In the puerperium may occur uterine disorders, such as retained placenta, puerperal metritis, clinical and subclinical endometritis and pyometra, this review was proposed a study of the immunology involved in uterine health and a better understanding of uterine disorders, using the model of Sheldon et al. al, (2006) for classification of diseases, and a study of best treatment options and discussion about its functionality, because a lot of controversy among authors about choosing a treatment and another and between treated and untreated

Dental tooth bleaching is a conservative option for the treatment of tooth stains. It is based on the use of hydrogen peroxide as an active agent. Despite its effectiveness to lighten tooth colour, there is concern regarding its use due to the effects it could have over enamel surface. There is scarce evidence on the subject and contradictions exist between different authors. The aim of this study was to compare enamel surface micromorphology after bleaching teeth with different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide solutions. Method: 50 healthy bovine incisors sectioned horizontally at the cemento-enamel junction were prepared. Contents of pulp chamber and tooth surfaces were cleaned. The buccal surface of each tooth was divided vertically, assigning one half to the control group (CG) and the other randomly to: Group 1: 25 samples treated with 15% hydrogen peroxide with nitrogen doped titanium dioxide. Group 2: 25 samples treated with 35% hydrogen peroxide. Square samples (2x2 mm.) were obtained and observed by SEM (magnification of 5.000x and 10.000x). Results: All treated groups showed longitudinal depressions on the surface and increased surface roughness. Conclusions: Tooth bleaching with hydrogen peroxide produces subclinical alterations over bovine enamel surface. 15% hydrogen peroxide bleaching agent produced less micromorphology alteration over bovine enamel surface than the 35% hydrogen peroxide agent.
