This study aimed to develop procedures for assessing reading comprehension of words and phrases and characterize the performance of students of 2nd year of elementary school in this procedure. It was divided into two phases: 1) preparation of evaluation tests of reading comprehension, consisting of three events: comprehension of written word (CWW), sentences (CWS) and sentences through pictures (CSP) and 2) application of the elaborated evaluation in 120 students distributed in the following groups: GI, 60 students from a public (municipal) school and GII, 60 students from a private school. The CWW test obtained the highest average of score, followed by CSP and CWS for both groups, since the picture contributes to the comprehension of the meaning either of the word and sentences. The procedure was effective to assess initial skills of reading comprehension once it identified inherent difficulties related to the literacy process.

From the ideologies of inclusive education, the development and adoption of new organizational practices in the school curriculum are noted. In this sense, the work presented here aims to report part of implementation and development process of a individual instrument of curricular adaptation (ACI), to students with special educational needs, especially disabilities, or strong disabilities evidences, who were enrolled in mainstream school. This research aim is to present and to analysis comparatively the structure and use of a didactic-pedagogical curricular adequacy tool, employed by the Department of Education City teachers from a city of Sao Paulo. Two different groups of teachers who worked with students with special educational needs participated in this study, the first (G-1) has had contact with the instrument, and the second (G-2) unknown the instrument. The data collection procedure was the application of a questionnaire consisting of 11 multiple choice questions to the sample. It was noted the document evaluation was positive for most participants from G-1, and participants in G-2 show interest in adopting an instrument to facilitate the teacher activity in organization of education process with special educational needs students. In this way, its possible concludes that the instrument analyzed ACI was considered by both teachers groups with a useful pedagogical procedure, able to guide them to elimination of procedural barriers to access to the curriculum towards the realization of an inclusive school.

This article examines aspects of policies for higher education during the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985) and some of its legacies that persist in the decades of 1990 and 2000. The text was divided into two parts: the first one analyses the "university reform" of 1968 and its historical context; the second discusses how some features configure certain trend in policies for higher education, with traces maintained until today. Finally, this amazing continuity is evaluated through four axes of analysis 1) Fragmentation of education and different access to the levels and stages of teaching; 2) Deformation of the inseparability of teaching, research and extension; 3) Privatization as official policy for higher education; 4) Authoritarianism and systematic repression in institutions of higher education and it is supported the need to resist and be opposed to the dominant project of policy for higher education in Brazil.

O presente estudo se propos a verificar as diversas formas de manifestao do Jogo Simblico nas crianas durante as aulas de Educao Fsica no Ensino Infantil, as diferentes formas de abordagem e o desenvolvimento de atividades por parte dos professores durante esse processo. Por meio de entrevista com o uso de questionrio semi-estruturado, investigou com os professores, quais as estratgias utilizadas para o desenvolvimento do Jogo Simblico nas aulas, tanto de modo coletivo quanto individual e qual o papel do Jogo Simblico no desenvolvimento dos alunos. Os dados foram analisados e interpretados frente ao referencial terico levantado e pode concluir que os professores fazem uso do Jogo Simblico em suas atividades, mas que na maioria das vezes no valorizam a manifestao do mesmo de forma individual.

Este trabalho faz parte da pesquisa nacional interinstitucional, intitulada Anlise das conseqncias de parcerias firmadas entre municpios brasileiros e a Fundao Ayrton Senna para a oferta educacional, financiada pelo CNPq. Esse estudo analisa o Programa Gesto Nota 10, implementado nos municpios de Crceres, Teresina, Altamira, So Jos dos Pinhais, Sapiranga, So Jos do Rio Preto e as possveis alteraes do Plano de Carreira Docente. Para isso sero analisados trabalhos escritos sobre o referente tema, alm de documentos oferecidos pelos rgos pblicos dos municpios analisados. O marco terico para essa pesquisa a crise do capital que entre suas estratgias de superao o Neoliberalismo e a Reforma do Estado, h qual propem a descentralizao de servios, que antes eram do Estado, incluindo a sociedade civil organizada e o chamado Terceiro Setor. Outra imposio dessa reforma foi introduo do quase-mercado na gesto pblica. Esse tipo de gesto oferece diretrizes padro, nas quais h o desenvolvimento de metas para alcance de ndices elevados, assim os municpios, caso cumpram com essas diretrizes, so gratificados e recebem algum tipo de premiao, desenvolvendo a competitividade entre os educadores. Este trabalho apresenta o convnio de sistemas de ensino pblico com o Instituto Ayrton Senna, como uma forma de materializao dessas polticas, e as implicaes para as alteraes no Plano de Carreira Docente.

The assumptions of Marxist philosophy helps us understand the inherent contradictions of the historical process. The category mode of production is understood as the means and the ends for which mankind produces and reproduces reality objectively and subjectively. The temporal evolution of the mode of production has spurred antagonistic social classes, which are the world capitalist bourgeoisie and proletariat. At the rise of the current mode of production each class produced a pedagogy according to your interests. The proposal of the workers is centered on unity between teaching and non-alienated labor, enabling the development of human potential and building a new social order. The last historical period was marked by the implementation of the neoliberal agenda to reduce social spending and market liberalization. The educational reforms of the state of So Paulo followed the same goals. From the program So Paulo Faz Escola, So Paulo School Curriculum was introduced in the State of So Paulo, which integrates several documents. The Student Notebook, separated by discipline and delivered bimonthly to students of public schools, is one of those publications. Specifically, the physics notebook brings a content with no depth, where theories are presented by minimizing the mathematical formalism for a broad education that meets the needs for dynamize the economy

Os professores eventuais so figuras conhecidas dos alunos do sistema de ensino pblico do Estado de So Paulo devido freqncia com que aparecem nas salas de aula. As aulas eventuais so atribudas a professores chamados a substiturem os regulares, ou titulares de turmas, nas escolas pblicas estaduais do Estado de So Paulo. Tais aulas aparecem como uma incgnita para os profissionais que so colocados a enfrentar uma situao nova, dar aulas em tempos fragmentados, desconhecendo o desenvolvimento das atividades do professor titular, o contedo em andamento e as prticas comumente adotadas. Estes so profissionais, licenciados ou estudantes de graduao, que substituem os professores titulares da sala quando da ausncia destes por um perodo inferior a quinze dias, trabalham geralmente em situao precria, seja no que diz respeito legislao, aos horrios, aos contedos, ou mesmo em relao a outros membros da comunidade escolar. Alm disso, tomando como base os relatos presentes na bibliografia, nos depoimentos colhidos pela pesquisa e nossa experincia pessoal, percebemos que tal situao vem sendo ignorada nos meios acadmicos e polticos, tornando-se uma chaga oculta na j defasada educao pblica paulista. O presente Trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as aulas eventuais e professores e estudantes que atuam nas aulas da rea de Geografia,com vistas a compreender a forma pela qual so oferecidas tais aulas e as conseqncias que podem ter na formao destes profissionais. Assim, propomos registrar os questionamentos dos profissionais que possuem algumas experincias com esta modalidade de aula. Ao fazermos isso, buscamos discutir o tema com o intuito de tornar tais experincias mais positivas uma vez que temos um levantamento preliminar com uma srie de relatos extremamente contundentes envolvendo as aulas eventuais

Underdeveloped nations have the largest absolute number of the world's elderly population. Approximately 10.7% of the Brazilian population comprises aged individuals. Aging populations are associated with a higher incidence of chronic degenerative diseases such as dementia. Demented individuals place a high burden of care on healthcare systems and family members. General practitioners should be able to diagnose the most common elderly diseases such as dementia since they act as gatekeepers to specialized care. In Brazil, many medical students work as general practitioners upon graduating. The present study shows some scenarios of medical schools worldwide, including Brazilian, regarding teaching on dementia.

Studies show that the disciplines of differential and integral calculus have high failure rates in all schools where they are present and, although this problem has been accentuated in recent years, it is not a local phenomenon. It's observed since 1970s in various Institutions of higher education in Brazil. These studies seek to understand the causes of failures and proposals for teaching methodology that aims to help reduce these rates. However, there is a large contingent of students who are successful at the first time that they perform these disciplines. And these cases, although they have not been studied, can contribute greatly to the understanding the aspects that are related to learning of them. And this understanding can lead to attitudes and learning and teaching methodologies that promote the expansion of this success. The fact that these subjects also have high failure rates in the Degree in Chemistry of this Institute, this study aimed to investigate the factors that were relevant to the cases for approval of the students performed for the first time. For this we constructed a questionnaire containing objective questions and open answers. The objective sought to diagnose the profile of these students with regard to age, gender, basic education (elementary and middle school), study habits, concurrent activities, among others. These questions were analyzed using simple statistics. The open-ended questions asked students to indicate that they attribute the success obtained in the disciplines and to suggest modes of study. These questions were analyzed using thematic categorization, a method of content analysis. This questionnaire was completed, voluntarily and without identification, by students who have passed the first time attended the courses Calculus I and/ or Calculus II and had never started another college prior to this. The results indicate that the most relevant factors in this process were dedication and correct habits...
