Gestão ambiental: um novo desafio para os profissionais de recursos humanos?

Current research analyzes the importance of human resources managers in organizational sustainability through the ack-nowledgement of the external variables and innovatory practices, such as environment management. In fact, the latter is a challenge for organizations and consequently for the human resources’ area. Investigation comprised a revision of the literature: theoretical and empirical articles that deal with the role of human resources’ mana-gement and on the environmental issue which is daily in the news. The essay is divided into three parts: the first section emphasizes the role of human resources’ managers; empirical evidences of the activities of HR managers in international contexts are dealt with in the second part; the third section deals with the environmental ma-nagement issue as a new challenge for HR managers. HR managers should acknowledge and incorporate in human resources practice the environmental dimension from the stages of recruitment, selec-tion and training. If people with attitudes and competences in the environment are rewarded, they will contribute towards an effective environmental management and, consequently, improvements in organizational results will materialize.

Perfil antropométrico, aptidão motora e aeróbia de jogadores de futebol profissionais e juniores de Trinidad e Tobago

There is little information on Caribbean soccer players. Thus, the aim this study was to descriptive and to compare the anthropometric, motor and aerobic fitness profile between Trinidad and Tobago team professional and junior soccer players. Twenty six soccer players were evaluated (14 professional and 12 junior): anthropometric (height, body mass, BMI, body fat percent), flexibility (sit and reach), velocity (30 m), explosive strength (horizontal and vertical jump), anaerobic power (maximum, mean and minimum power, index of fatigue) and maximum aerobic power. Student Test-t to independent sample was used in statistical analyzes, considering 5% of significance (p<0,05). Results of professional and junior players were, respectively: height (180,6 ± 8,1; 175,0 ± 6,9 cm), body mass (77,1 ± 7,5; 70,6 ± 8,7 kg); BMI (23,6 ± 1,5 / 23,0 ± 1,6 kgm 2 ); body fat (11,9 ± 1,7; 11,6 ± 1,2 %); sitting and reaching (24,9 ± 10,3; 24,9 ± 7,7 cm); velocity (30 m) (4,61 ± 0,14; 4,66 ± 0,15 s); horizontal jump (263,4 ± 14,9; 239,7 ± 12,1 cm); vertical jump (58,7 ± 4,3; 54,6 ± 6,6 cm); maximum power (7,9 ± 0,9; 6,6 ± 0,8 w∙kg-1 ); mean power (6,5 ± 0,7; 5,4 ± 0,9 w∙kg-1 ); minimum power (5,3 ± 0,7; 4,3 ± 1,1 w∙kg-1 ); index of fatigue (33,0 ± 7,9; 34,8 ± 12,8 %); aerobic power (55,0 ± 3,2; 57,2 ± 4,8 ml∙kg-1 ∙min-1 ). Professional players presented higher horizontal jump and maximum, mean and minimum anaerobic power in comparing to the junior players. The highest values of power tests for the lower limbs may be relationship to the longer time of practice in the modality of professional players, which can also indicate a higher level of specialization, which gives priority to the training of power (force and velocity).

Esferas de sociabilidade na formação dos valores profissionais dos estudantes brasileiros: entre a educação universitária e o mercado de trabalho

A partir de um questionário aplicado a alunos de Jornalismo, a pesquisa visa mapear como esses estudantes se posicionam em relação aos valores formadores da cultura e da ética profissional, bem como avaliar quais são as práticas profissionais consideradas validadas ou não por eles. Foi feito um cruzamento de dados entre os estudantes dos primeiros e dos últimos anos, entre os alunos do sexo feminino e masculino, entre os que já atuam no mercado de trabalho e os que ainda não exercem a atividade profissional e entre os estudantes de diferentes posicionamentos políticos. Isso permitiu observar quais são as mudanças de valores que os estudantes passam ao longo do curso, além de uma medição dos fatores de influência em relação às diversas esferas de sociabilidade. Dentre os cruzamentos, a maior amplitude das diferenças de respostas foi obtida entre alunos que já trabalham e os que ainda não, o que nos leva a repensar o papel da tríade ensino-pesquisa-extensão nas faculdades de Jornalismo.

Mídia-educação: uma proposta de formação de profissionais de comunicação

This article is based on the results of an experience with training undergraduate and postgraduate communication students for media education. The activities were founded on the theory and practice proposed by British researchers. It was found that many participants held a fragmented knowledge on the subject, permeated by theoretical and mainly methodological doubts.

Análise da assimetria nas ações motoras em atletas profissionais de futsal

Lateral asymmetries are in everywhere as well as in all movements made by man, which become more evident in movements of sport. The asymmetry is particularly pointed out in futsal when players, even with clear opportunity of making use of their non-preferred foot, try to place the ball in order to execute the action with their preferred foot. The study of asymmetry in futsal is quite relevant, once ambidextrous players present advantages in their performances during a match, which can help futsal athletes not only in their performance improvement but also with the prescription of training. For this reason, the present study had questioned: is there symmetry/asymmetry at the performance of lower contralateral limbs during actions with the possession ball (pass, receiving a ball and kick into the goal) during a futsal match? Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the symmetry/asymmetry using the preferred and non-preferred foot in actions with the possession ball (pass, receiving and shoot) in adult Futsal's players (professional). The winner team of eight matches of the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup was analyzed. An average of 75 players had all their actions (pass, receiving a ball and shot on goal) using their lower limbs during the match analyzed. However, their actions with the head and torso were not analyzed. The games were acquired through a television broadcast. All eight matches were followed by an appraiser through a computer. The Skout® software was used to collect the data, taking notes of the player involved, the type of action (pass, receiving a ball and shot on goal), its foot used (preferred or non-preferred foot) and if the execution was correct or wrong. Morte e morrer em unidade de terapia intensiva pediátrica: percepção dos profissionais de saúde

The objective of this descriptive research was to investigate the perception of health care professionals who work in Pediatric Intensive Care Units in relation to the process of death and dying. The study was undertaken between June and August 2011, with data collected through structured interviews and subjected to statistical analysis. Of the 25 participants, 72% perceived death as a natural process of life, 60% felt compassion – a feeling that did not interfere in caring for the patient, 52% related that they had not received any preparation about the process of death or dying and 76% showed interest in taking a refresher course on the issue. Greater discussion is necessary about academic training, and the offer of educational activities and space for exchanging experiences, such that the workers may better understand and deal with feelings and limitations regarding death.

Percepção da doença mental por profissionais de saúde: possibilidades de ampliação do cuidado

This study approached perceptions of mental illness by nineteen professionals who work in a Family Health Unit, by means of graphic representations (drawings). We used qualitative methods. Data was collected by means of a Presentative-Expressive Procedure. Four themes were identified using Thematic Analysis. The professionals associate mental disorders with: health care, medical-centered view, exclusion/inclusion, social environment. These perceptions are related to a biological paradigm, favoring the reproduction of prejudices about mental illness. The analysis also emphasizes the importance of a wide range of cares, while considering how difficult it may be for the professionals. We conclude that it is necessary to invest on professional preparation, in an attempt to transform ideoaffective contents presented by the subjects’ imaginary.

Ofertas de trabalho na Web para os profissionais brasileiros da informação-documentação: análise das competências e habilidades exigidas pelas empresas e instituições

Analisam-se as características de ofertas de emprego do setor da Informação-Documentação. A mostra foi obtida de anúncios na Internet, feitos por empresas e instituições privadas brasileiras, durante o ano de 2010. A atividade foi realizada no âmbito de pesquisa maior, que tem como objetivo geral construir uma taxonomia que classifique e hierarquize as competências e conhecimentos exigidos pelas empresas, bem como as características dos postos oferecidos. Extraiu-se a informação de 200 ofertas de emprego obtidas nos portais Catho e Portal do bibliotecário. Cada entrada foi mantida em seu contexto de incidência e com a expressão original. Os termos obtidos passaram por um processo de normalização. A análise busca classificar e valorar as atividades, conhecimentos e tarefas mais solicitados, bem como as aptidões, competências e habilidades, além das incidências das unidades e dos profissionais de informação.

Micropolítica do trabalho dos profissionais de saúde na UBS: visão sobre necessidades de saúde das famílias

Este estudo teve como objetivo compreender as potencialidades e limitações do processo de trabalho da enfermagem de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde para o reconhecimento das necessidades de saúde da população. A vertente metodológica utilizada foi a pesquisa social, na perspectiva qualitativa, tendo como base de análise dos discursos a hermêutica-dialética, e como alicerce a Teoria da Interpretação Práxica da Enfermagem em Saúde Coletiva. Os dados foram coletados por meio da entrevista semiestruturada e os processos de trabalho das equipes foram analisados através do Fluxograma Analisador do Modelo de Atenção de um Serviço de Saúde. Concluiu-se que há limitações no cotidiano do processo de trabalho da equipe de enfermagem à medida em que o reconhecimento e enfrentamento das necessidades de saúde perpassavam pela identificação de agravos instalados, deixando em segundo plano os determinantes sociais das más condições de vida associadas ao processo saúde-doença.
