This article aims to analyze the significant social and political aspects of the transition from the Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy to Federal and Presidential Republic, according to the literary work of the writer from Rio de Janeiro Joaquim Maria Machado de Assis (1839-1908). Some of these aspects appeared in Machadian chronicles entitled Balas de Estalo, published in the daily newspaper Gazeta News between 1883 and 1887. These chronicles were signed by Lelio, one of the nicknames of Machado de Assis.

Conselheiros tutelares na linha de frente da preven����o do abuso sexual

Sexual violence against girls under the age of eighteen, in the form of sexual abuse has been identified as an endemic phenomenon by public officials in the cities of S��o Paulo. Among t agents and tutelary councilors, which reveal the size of their work linked to the Social Assistance System, the Health System and the Public Security System, dialoguing with their local agents. However, prevent sexual abuse and exploitation constitutes a greater challenge, consciously or unconsciously. This paper opens a discussion on the urgency of designing social networks to prevent sexual violence, with participation of researchers and university students. It is based on surveys of public officials in the years 2011 to 2013 in five cities of S��o Paulo, with over 200 thousand inhabitants.

A defesa de uma reforma intelectual e moral da sociedade consubstanciada na universaliza����o da instru����o e a contesta����o da representa����o legal do escravo como inimigo dom��stico e p��blico eram temas centrais de um projeto de futuro que visava implantar ampla liberdade civil no Brasil mon��rquico da segunda metade do s��culo XIX.

Notes on the psychological practices developed in social work entities that serve poor children and adolescents We understand that psychology, along with Pedagogy is part of the assumptions that compose the multidisciplinary field that comprises the socioeducative action of social work entities that serve poor children and adolescents considered in ���personal and social risk���. What kinds of Psychology practices could be found in these institutions? We find evidence that the age minority logic still in force in many social work entities - that implement predominantly disciplinary and repressive, correctional and shaping forms of care, - dispense with psychology as a social transformation practice. When we find professional psychologists in social work entities, it is not uncommon for them to develop extremely traditional, psychotherapeutic, patologization actions for the individual, and to promote actions of orthopedic behavior, and therefore they may be called "technicians of conduct." This psychology is not aligned with the citizen and empowering perspective proposed by the Statute of Children and Adolescent, based on the fundamental concept of the social subject of rights.

Compreendendo a din��mica familiar de adolescentes expostos a viol��ncia sexual intrafamiliar

Violence in adolescence, specifically sexual violence, is a topic of great relevance. Not only in Brazil but the world has witnessed the increase of sexual violence, becoming the most prevalent morbid occurrence in adolescence. Draws attention to the phenomenon of sexual violence against children and adolescents not only the fact that most of the victims are assaulted in their own home environment, but also the type of relationship between victim and aggressor. Thus, based on systemic approach, this study aimed to compose eend family dynamics of adolescent victims of sexual intra-familial. Participants were seven teenagers and their parents, users and beneficiaries of services offered by CREAS - Reference Center for Specialized Social Assistance in a municipality of Mato Grosso do Sul. The instruments used were the Test of Drawing in Colour of the Family (FCDT) and a questionnaire about the pictures taken and family interactions. The results indicated the difficulty in differentiating family roles, especially regarding the differentiation of the mother and daughter, a fact that seemed to be the motivator for the impoverishment of individuation in groups. Also noted the presence of conflict between the familiar figures probably originated from this abusive situation. In this context, the studied families showed communication difficulties between family members, hindering the integration between them, as well as the existence of an authoritarian leadership and strict rules performed by the father figure. These results may support preventive and therapeutic actions to situations of sexual violence against children and adolescents. Thus, it is suggested that psychological counseling for the study participants and other stakeholders with a view to reducing damage and recovery of quality of life for all family members, as well as the need for further studies in the area in question.

Comunica����o p��blica para cidadania no avan��o das redes sociais oficiais

The advancement in the deployment of social networks by governments can generate public communication initiatives, which may contribute to the strengthening of citizenship, understood as the exercise of the right to information about public management. This article describes results of research which assessed, through content analysis, the breadth and depth of information offered by the state government of S��o Paulo in news stories accessed through the social networks Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Orkut which publicize purposes, lines of action and limits of public policies of immediate impact for citizenship, in the areas of welfare, health, education and environment. Results indicate that the analyzed sample contains, on average, from 28% to 40% of all information deemed necessary for the comprehensive and plural characterization of a public policy, according to the theoretical-methodological context of the research.
