Encounter of self-antigens in the periphery by mature T cells induces tolerance in the steady-state. Hence, it is not understood why the same peripheral antigens are also promiscuously expressed in the thymus to mediate central tolerance. Here, we analyzed CD8(+) T-cell tolerance to such an antigen constituted by ovalbumin under the control of the tyrosinase promoter. As expected, endogenous CD8(+) T-cell responses were altered in the periphery of transgenic mice, resulting from promiscuous expression of the self-antigen in mature medullary epithelial cells and deletion of high-affinity T cells in the thymus. In adoptive T-cell transfer experiments, we observed constitutive presentation of the self-antigen in peripheral lymph nodes. Notably, this self-antigen presentation induced persisting cytotoxic cells from high-affinity CD8(+) T-cell precursors. Lymph node resident melanoblasts expressing tyrosinase directly presented the self-antigen to CD8(+) T cells, independently of bone marrow-derived antigen-presenting cells. This peripheral priming was independent of the subcellular localization of the self-antigen, indicating that this mechanism may apply to other melanocyte-associated antigens. Hence, central tolerance by promiscuous expression of peripheral antigens is a mandatory, rather than a superfluous, mechanism to counteract the peripheral priming, at least for self-antigens that can be directly presented in lymph nodes. The peripheral priming by lymph node melanoblasts identified here may constitute an advantage for immunotherapies based on adoptive T-cell transfer.

Esta librería podrá ser utilizada por diferentes aplicaciones ejecutadas en terminales móviles que cuenten con este sistema operativo.

Cobre Las Cruces is a renowned copper mining company located in Sevilla, with unexpected problems in wireless communications that have a direct affectation in production. Therefore, the main goals are to improve the WiFi infrastructure, to secure it and to detect and prevent from attacks and from the installation of rogue (and non-authorized) APs. All of that integrated with the current ICT infrastructure.This project has been divided into four phases, although only two of them have been included into the TFC; they are the analysis of the current situation and the design of a WLAN solution.Once the analysis part was finished, some weaknesses were detected. Subjects such as lack of connectivity and control, ignorance about installed WiFi devices and their localization and state and, by and large, the use of weak security mechanisms were some of the problems found. Additionally, due to the fact that the working area became larger and new WiFi infrastructures were added, the first phase took more time than expected.As a result of the detailed analysis, some goals were defined to solve and it was designed a centralized approach able to cope with them. A solution based on 802.11i and 802.1x protocols, digital certificates, a probe system running as IDS/IPS and ligthweight APs in conjunction with a Wireless LAN Controller are the main features.

This paper studies whether firms' use of R&D subsidies and R&D tax incentives is correlated to two sources of underinvestment in R&D, financing constraints and appropriability. We find that financially constrained SMEs are less likely to use R&D tax credits and more likely to obtain subsidies. SMEs using legal methods to protect their intellectual property are more likely to use tax incentives. Results are ambiguous for large firms. For both having previous experience in R&D increases the likelihood of using tax incentives, while it reduces the likelihood of using exclusively subsidies, suggesting that the latter induce entry into R&D. Results imply that direct funding and tax credits do not have the same ability to address each source of R&D underinvestment, and that on average subsidies may be better suited than tax credits at least for SMEs. From a policy perspective these tools may be complements rather than substitutes.

Para realizarlo se ha hecho un estudio sobre las ondas wifi observando su comportamiento en distintas situaciones, así como sus problemas y factores que pueden ser relevantes en el proceso, para dar lugar a un posicionamiento acertado.
