A new species from southeastern and southern of Brazil is described and illustrated, Oropezella pseudotetraocellata.

Two new species of the Neotropical genus Pseudevoplitus Ruckes,1958 are described, P. amazonicus Grazia & Greve, sp. nov. and P. roraimensis Grazia & Greve, sp. nov. both from the Brazilian Amazonia, with emphasis on genital characters. Additions to the generic description and a new key to the species are presented.

Uma espécie nova de Schwarzula da Amazônia (Hymenoptera, Apidae, Meliponini)

Schwarzula coccidophila sp. nov., a tiny Amazonian stingless bee, that attends scale insects (Cryptostigma Ferris, 1922, Coccidae) in its nest, is described. It is distinguished from Schwarzula timida (Silvestri, 1902), the only other species of the genus, mainly by the malar area longer than diameter of 3rd flagellomere, and the denser plumose pilosity. Additional records of S. timida is presented.

Novo gênero de Anacolini e descrição dos machos de Myzomorphus Flavipes e Poekilosoma Carinatipenne (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Prioninae)

The new genus Hovorelus and its type-species, H. splendidus sp. nov., are described from Peru. The males of Myzomorphus flavipes Galileo, 1987 and Poekilosoma carinatipenne Lane, 1941, both with sexual dimorphism, are described for the first time.

Descrição de duas espécies novas de Opopaea do sul do Brasil (Oonopidae, Araneae)

Two new species, Opopaea viamao and O. ita, are described from the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, Brazil, respectively. Both species present reduction or loss of posterior median eyes, a possible synapomorphic caracter.

The female of Argyrothemis argentea Ris, 1911 is described and illustrated for the first time. New records expand the distribution range of the species to Central West Region of Brazil.

Duas espécies novas de Lophoblatta (Blattaria, Blattelidae) do Brasil e descrição da genitália de cinco espécies conhecidas

New species described: Lophoblatta bromelicola and L. tingua both from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The male genitalia of five other species are illustrated and described. New records are given: L. petropolitana Rocha e Silva & Vasconcelos, 1987 to Espírito Santo and L. speerae Rocha e Silva-Albuquerque & Gurney, 1963 to Pernambuco, Goiás and Espírito Santo, Brazil. The genus is divided in four groups according as the male genitalia characters.

The adults of Camelobaetidius billi Thomas & Dominique, 2000 are described for the first time. They can be distinguished from the other known adults of the genus by the following combination of characters: in males, turbinate portion of the compound eyes orange, abdominal color pattern, and the shape and relative length of the forceps articles; in females by the abdominal color pattern. The specimens were collected at Presidente Figueiredo, State of Amazonas, Brazil, and represent the first report of the species in Brazil.

Descrição do ciclo reprodutivo de Donax hanleyanus (Bivalvia, Donacidae) no sul do Brasil

The changes in gonadal development in male and female of Donax hanleyanus Philippi, 1847 are described. Gonad development and spawning seasons were assessed by monthly sampling of population from Arroio Teixeira beach, southern Brazil. Histological examination of clams showed in the most of the adult population sampled that the spawning is practically continuous, without any period of sexual rest. There are two main periods of gametogenesis, in winter and in summer, being the degree of maturation longer in the latter. The water temperature is stimulant on gametes proliferation and spawning.

Eight species are considered for the genus Cobelura Erichson, 1847, three described herein: C. stockwelli sp. nov., from Panamá (Canal Zone, Darien), C. wappesi sp. nov., from Ecuador (Pichincha) and C. howdenorum sp. nov., from Colombia (Norte de Santander). The treatment of each new species includes information on its geographical distribution, photographs and a comparison with its most similar congenerics. A key to species of Cobelura is presented.

A fêmea de Sphecozone tincta Millidge, 1991 é descrita e ilustrada pela primeira vez. O macho também é ilustrado. Novos registros são fornecidos para Sphecozone cristata Millidge, 1991, S. rostrata Millidge, 1991 e S. rubescens O. P.-Cambridge, 1870.
