Esboço sociolinguístico sobre risco de perda e manutenção de línguas: o caso de cinco línguas indígenas brasileiras

Este estudo apresenta as macrovariáveis que evidenciam a situação de ameaça e perda da vitalidade das línguas Anambé, Aikanã, Apurinã, Parkatêjê e Xipaya, frente ao domínio da língua portuguesa. Para realizar o presente estudo foram utilizados procedimentos metodológicos necessários para uma abordagem com enfoque teórico bibliográfico sobre as causas que motivam a mudança linguística, com base nas variáveis sociolinguísticas apresentadas por Edward (1992), Grenoble & Whaley (1998, 2000) e nos critérios que avaliam a vitalidade das línguas apontadas pela UNESCO (2003). A partir das informações coletadas nas entrevistas com pesquisadores das línguas selecionadas temos em vista: i) identificar quais macrovariáveis que atuam no processo de desvitalização das línguas selecionadas para este estudo; ii) classificar as línguas selecionadas quanto ao grau de vitalidade, considerando os critérios estabelecidos, em 2003, pela Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (UNESCO); e iii) delinear, com base nas respostas às entrevistas concedidas pelos pesquisadores, a situação sociolinguística de cada língua estudada. O exame das macrovariáveis (usos das línguas, escolarização e migração) identificadas em análise às línguas indígenas selecionadas apontou aspectos que dizem respeito à situação de perda linguística das mesmas.

Hospital D. Luiz I da Benemérita Sociedade Portuguesa Beneficente do Pará como documento/monumento

Esta pesquisa apresenta o edifício-sede do Hospital D. Luiz I da Benemérita Sociedade Portuguesa Beneficente do Pará, construído em 1877 ao Norte do Brasil, na cidade de Belém, como bem cultural, material e imaterial e como suporte de memória e de identidade dos imigrantes portugueses que aportaram em Belém do Pará. As relações existentes entre a arquitetura do Hospital e as linguagens do Classicismo Imperial Brasileiro e do Classicismo à Brasileira em Portugal, são evidenciadas, através de diálogos transcontinentais e recíprocos existentes entre as duas Nações. A etnografia, sob um olhar antropológico na malha das relações urbanas, foi utilizada como ferramenta de abordagem e de obtenção de dados que proporcionaram o reconhecimento do edifício-sede como patrimônio histórico, arquitetônico e cultural da história da saúde no Norte do Brasil. A memória como espaço arrebatador de lembranças e esquecimentos foi usada como suporte ao estudo e como viés de entendimento da História. O valor patrimonial atrelado ao objeto do estudo é evidenciado através de suas perspectivas históricas, arquitetônicas e culturais. Assim sendo, essa dissertação, em ótica conclusiva, demonstra os fatores, as evidências e os traços arquitetônicos e culturais que ratificam a caracterização do Hospital D. Luiz I como “Documento Monumento”.

"The Americano Dream" ou "The American Dream": o debate contemporâneo sobre a imigração de mexicanos para os Estados Unidos

Neste artigo resenho o debate acadêmico suscitado nos Estados Unidos por causa dos argumentos de Huntington sobre a imigração hispânica, sobretudo a de mexicanos, para este país. Em suas obras "The Hispanic challenge" e Who are we?, Huntington argumenta que, por razões demográficas e políticas, os imigrantes mexicanos não se assimilariam ao core culture norte-americano fundado nos valores anglo-protestantes, o que dividiria os EUA em dois povos, duas culturas e duas linguagens. As pesquisas empíricas aqui resenhadas que testaram os argumentos empíricos de Huntington os negaram e os críticos teóricos destes concebem que eles são doutrinários porque expressam uma ideologia settler, bem como manifestam a teoria do conflito do pluralismo cultural e a do colonianismo interno.

The interlanguage development in the spanish learning as foreign language in Teletandem under the View of the Complexity Theory

This article presents, under the perspective of Complexity Theory, the characteristics of the learning process of Spanish as a foreign language in Teletandem. Data were collected from two pairs of Portuguese-Spanish interagents, who were engaged in a systematic and regular interaction, based on the tandem principles. It was found that the learning experience is developed with the peculiarities that arise from the context, agents, members and their nuances, which revealed the presence of a shallow space between the systems of native and foreign languages.

Sobre o pensamento de Peirce e a organização da informação e do conhecimento

Incomplete glimpses of the philosophy of Charles Peirce (1839-1914) can frequently be found in studies about Semiotics and Information Science. Therefore, we sought to discover the theoretical and applied interrelationships between knowledge and information organization and Peirce's Semiotics and Philosophy. The aim was to discover and evaluate the contributions of Peirce's Semiotics and Philosophy to the knowledge and information organization field. The method of this study was bibliographical research. The main results were: indexing process semiotic model, semiotic knowledge organization, interaction between documentary semiotics and documentary languages, kinds of inference to the indexing process, as well as the collaboration of Peirce's pragmatism to terminology theory. Finally, we listed issues for future research.

Archives information publishing new design in post-custodial regime: the national archives experience digital vaults

The uses of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Web environments for creation, treatment and availability of information have supported the emergence of new social-cultural patterns represented by convergences in textual, image and audio languages. This paper describes and analyzes the National Archives Experience Digital Vaults as a digital publishing web environment and as a cultural heritage. It is a complex system - synthesizer of information design options at information setting, provides new aesthetic aspects, but specially enlarges the cognition of the subjects who interact with the environment. It also enlarges the institutional spaces that guard the collective memory beyond its role of keeping the physical patrimony collected there. Digital Vaults lies as a mix of guide and interactive catalogue to be dealt in a ludic way. The publishing design of the information held on the Archives is meant to facilitate access to knowledge. The documents are organized in a dynamic and not chronological way. They are not divided in fonds or distinct categories, but in controlled interaction of documents previously indexed and linked by the software. The software creates information design and view of documental content that can be considered a new paradigm in Information Science and are part of post-custodial regime, independent from physical spaces and institutions. Information professionals must be prepared to understand and work with the paradigmatic changes described and represented by the new hybrid digital environments; hence the importance of this paper. Cyberspace interactivity between user and the content provided by the environment design provide cooperation, collaboration and sharing knowledge actions, all features of networks, transforming culture globally.

História de vida e formação: educando o olhar e percebendo pesquisa enquanto experiência

Way in the theme of the story of my life and training and electingchildhood as a guide in the works of Benjamin. Narrating a series of reflections on childhood and experience, taking for reading and interpretation of aphorisms that make up my childhood and training as a fellow researcher, a full text simultaneously, is juxtaposed with other texts and authors, intertwining with Benjamin, memory and history in my narrative, in a singular moment, an event. In this course highlight the place ofexperience and their languages, between the know-how, andknowing how to express thinking about childhood and educationevent in the making, which announces the issue of impoverishment and destitution of the experience of life ineducational practice, indicating the possibility resume thembetween school knowledge and practices through different view of childhood and the event, as a teacher. I will continue outliningmy experience in research groups choosing the language and itsinterfaces specifically with art cinema / pictures in the construction of our subjectivity in postmodernity. The methodology is qualitative, will take place within what we call the ethical self. Transcendence is an act and not a process, and yetas an overshooting of history is always historically situated and,therefore, has a concrete context. Using my own journey as an educator / researcher in my path as an area of passage / travel / experience / track / time in the constitution of my subjectivity in my own life story
