Larnellarins are a group of marine natural products isolated from the prosobranch mollusc Lamellaria sp., the ascidian Didemnum sp., and the sponge Dendrilla Cactos. Several of them exhibit interesting biological activities. Natural as well as synthetic lamellarins should be excellent candidates for the development of new drugs due to their unique skeletal structure and their important biological activities especially as antitumor agents. Lamelarin O has been recently characterized as a topoisomerase 1-targeted anti tumor agent. A variety of synthetic approaches have been developed for this family of alkaloids. Herein we describe a new route to the synthesis of Lamellarin D, from a methyl 2-pyrrolecarboxylate. Transformation of the starting material into the scaffold, a substituted 5,6-dihydropyrrolo (2,l Âa)isoquinoline (5,6-DHPl), was afforded by N-alkylation followed by intramolecular Heck cyclization. From this scaffold the synthetic strategy is based on two sequential regioselective bromination!Suzuki cross-coupling reactions which permitted the introduction of differently substituted aryl groups on positions 1 and 2 followed by oxidation, deprotection, and lactonization.

This report describes web archiving in the National Library of Finland. The National Library of Finland has been archiving Finnish web on a regular basis since 2006. Web archiving is an important part of the Library'ʹs endeavours to collect and preserve Finnish published cultural heritage. In 2010, the amount of harvested data was 200 million files, or 25 Terabytes. The report takes the reader through the relevant legislation; internal plans and policies; funding and their allocation; the practices of web archiving; arrangements for the use of the archive; and issues rising from data security, sensitive materials, &c.

Kokoelma sisältää euroalueen keskuspankkien ja muiden ulkomaisten keskuspankkien julkaisemia tilastojulkaisuja, vuosikertomuksia ja lehtiä rahapolitiikasta, rahoitusmarkkinoista, finanssivalvonnasta, rahahuollosta ja pankkitoiminnasta. Julkaisuissa on tilastotietoa kyseisistä maista ja katsauksia taloudelliseen tilanteeseen ja rahapoliittisiin toimenpiteisiin. Tilastot ovat yleensä maan omassa valuutassa. Julkaisuja on n. 3890 nimekettä 1800 -luvulta lähtien. Euroalueelta kokoelmassa on Alankomaiden, Belgian, Espanjan, Irlannin, Italian, Itävallan, Kreikan, Kyproksen, Luxemburgin, Maltan, Portugalin, Ranskan, Saksan, Slovakian, Slovenian, ja Viron keskuspankkien julkaisuja. Suomen Pankin julkaisut on käsitelty omana alueenaan.

The update of the Finnish legislation concerning waste was unavoidable, to comply with the European Union (EU) requirements defined in the EU-Directive on Waste. The new waste law updates were enacted into the Finnish legislation on the 11.03.2011 and targeted for applicability by the 11.03.2012. This thesis investigates the implications of the new amendments to the waste legislation from the perspective of green sand foundries. The investigations are conducted by comparing two of Componenta’s green sand foundries and evaluating their waste streams. Additionally, the impacts of legislation amendments are critiqued on their environmental and economic aspects. The study’s comparison of waste fractions at the two foundries reveals that sand is dominant in absolute tonnage and costs. The increments of waste taxes forces foundries to focus on waste management, recycling and disposing. The new legislation’s promotion of material efficiency, also guides foundries towards the prevention of waste. A potential preventive measure is to regenerate waste sand resulting to cost savings on both raw-materials and waste management. However, the lack of absolute targets for waste prevention or recycling rates discourages the interests towards creating or adopting new technologies and methods for the waste handling.
