O objetivo deste estudo in vitro foi comparar os efeitos da fotoativação pelos sistemas luz halógena e LED na adesão de braquetes ortodônticos em diferentes tempos pós-colagem (imediato, 24h e 7d). Braquetes com adesivo pré-aplicado (Gemini series; APC adhesive precoated brackets; 3M Unitek, USA) foram colados na superfície vestibular de dentes bovinos. O esmalte dos dentes foi condicionado utilizando-se o primer auto-condicionante (Transbond SEP, 3M Unitek, USA) em todos os espécimes, conforme recomendações do fabricante. Setenta e dois dentes foram divididos em 2 grupos (n=36), conforme o sistema de fotoativação (luz halógena ou LED) e sub-divididos (n=12) de acordo com o tempo pós-colagem. Para os grupos luz halógena, o tempo de fotoativação foi de 20s e para os grupos LED foi de 10s. O teste de resistência ao cisalhamento foi realizado com auxílio de uma máquina de ensaios universal nos diferentes tempos pós-colagem: imediato, 24h e 7d. O valor médio de adesão para os grupos luz halógena foi de 20,01±5,24MPa e, para os grupos fotoativados pelo sistema LED 17,35±5,07MPa, sendo estes resultados estatisticamente diferentes. Quando comparado o efeito do tempo pós-colagem, os resultados revelaram que os valores de adesão foram significantemente maiores para o tempo de 7d. O resultado do teste ANOVA 2 – fatores revelou não existir diferença estatística entre a interação sistema de fotoativação e tempos pós-colagem. O teste de Tukey mostrou que para as 4 condições experimentais nos tempos imediato e 24h, os resultados não diferiram estatisticamente, independentemente do sistema de fotoativação. Somente com relação ao grupo luz halógena-7d, os resultados mostraram diferenças estatisticamente significantes. O grupo LED-7d desempenhou comportamento intermediário entre os grupos. Our objective was to evaluate the chemical composition and in vitro digestibility of dry matter of hydrolyzed sugar cane in different storage times. We conducted the trial in the Forage Sector at UNIFENAS, campus of Alfenas (MG) in 2010. The data were analyzed as completely randomized design in factorial scheme 2 (sugar cane without lime and hydrolyzed with 1.0% of lime, basis of fresh matter) x 6 (six times of storage: 0, 24, 48, 72, 96 and 120 hours), with three replicates. The sugar cane stored without lime showed lower dry matter (DM), crude protein, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber contents compared to hydrolyzed sugar cane. However, the hydrolyzed sugar cane showed higher contents of organic matter (OM) and total digestible nutrients. We reported higher in vitro digestibility of DM and OM when the sugar cane was not hydrolyzed. This can be explaining by better chemical composition of sugar cane without lime. The storage of sugar cane without lime shows results more interesting because the chemical composition and digestibility is better than hydrolyzed sugar cane. So, we not recommended using lime on the sugar cane. Moreover, the sugar cane without lime can be stored until 96 hours after cut.

This paper aims to survey data to analyze the productive capacity of a machining process of rolling bearings by methods-time measurement, in order to identify its bottlenecks and propose improvements in the system. The production times at the company are not known, the method of separation of operations and identification of its activities and the timing of production times and setup become points of departure for this paper. The results from this method of analysis provide clarity in identifying system weaknesses and by them it was possible to carry out the proposals for improvement in some process steps. The implementation of the improvements was not performed, but with the goals of this work was made possible to raise relevant information of the analyzed system

The present work investigates solid waste temperature behavior in different depths in two cells in the Rio Claro-SP city’s sanitary landfill. One of the cells is in operation with waste disposal beginning about one year ago. The other one is located in an closed area and contain waste disposed from five to seven years before. Measures were also made in an area that have no disposed waste in order to collect reference values. The data were obtained every fifteen days. The temperature results shows higher values in the operating cell, with maximum 38,1 °C in a depth of 4,0 m. In the closed cell the highest values were 36,3 °C in a depth of 8,5 m. The highest temperature values were obtained in the operating cell due to wider substract availability that indicates a more intense biological degradation activity. With three meters depth, the temperature results were 36,6 °C in the operating cell, 33,8 °C in the closed cell and 24,5 °C in the reference area. Therefore the temperature can be used as a biological activity indicator in sanitary landfills, supporting biogas studies

Statistics are used indirectly every day for engineers in a large panel of sectors like construction, mechanical engineering, biological engineering, electrical engineering, computer science etc. The main goal of this report is to compare different ways the engineers of tomorrow are formed in order to show which engineering is the best practice. The comparison will be done on different universities in France, Brazil and the US on Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Production branches. We will compare the amount of courses required, the degree of knowledge needed and the mains subjects

Nowadays technological trend is based on finding materials that could support low weight with satisfactory mechanical properties and for this reason composite material became a very attractive topic in research projects all over the world. Due to its heterogenic properties, this type of material shows scatter in mechanical test results, especially in cyclic loading. Therefore it is important to predict its fatigue strength behaviour by statistic analysis, once fatigue causes approximately 90% of the failure in structural components. The present work aimed to investigate the fatigue behaviour of the Twill/Cycom 890 composite, which is carbon fiber reinforced with polymeric resin as matrix and manufactured via RTM process (Resin Transfer Molding). All samples were tested in different tensile level in triplicate in order to associate these values. The statistical analysis was conducted with Two-Parameter Weibull Distribution and then evaluated the fatigue life results for the composite. Weibull graphics were used to determine the scale and shape parameters. The S-N curve for the Twill/Cycom composite was drawn and indicated the number of cycles to occur the first damages in this material. The probability of failure was associated with material reliability, as shown in graphics for the different tensile levels and fatigue life. In addition, the laminate was evaluated by ultrasonic inspection showing a regular impregnation. Câncer cervical é o segundo tipo mais comum em mulheres no mundo. Estudos apontam que a presença de certos tipos do HPV desempenha um papel central na formação do câncer. Apesar do grande sucesso da prevenção do câncer uterino com vacinas, o uso de produtos naturais para o tratamento de doenças é crescente e de grande importância econômica. Alcalóides guanidínicos isolados de Pterogyne nitens representam uma potencial fonte de novos tratamentos. O objetivo geral desse trabalho foi avaliar a atividade apoptótica induzida em células de carcinoma cervical infectadas (SiHa) e não infectadas pelo HPV (C33-A), tratadas com nitensidinas A e B, isoladas de folhas de Pterogyne nitens Tul. A citotoxicidade dos alcalóides foi avaliada utilizando o método de MTT. Para avaliar quantitativamente a apoptose e necrose celular, foi executado o ensaio de Anexina V por citometria de fluxo. Ambas as substâncias, nitensidinas A e B, apresentaram efeito citotóxico concentração-resposta em ambas as linhagens testadas (SiHa e C33A) e nos dois tempos de tratamento (24 horas e 48 horas). Não foi observada significância estatística quando comparados os perfis de ação citotóxica das duas substâncias em teste (nitensidinas A e B), em nenhuma das linhagens testadas (SiHa e C33A) e em nenhum dos dois tempos de tratamento (24 horas e 48 horas). Ambas as substâncias, nitensidina A e nitensidina B, apresentaram efeito indutor de apoptose precoce e, em menor número, de apoptose tardia/ necrose, em ambas as linhagens testadas (SiHa e C33A) e nos dois tempos de tratamento (24 horas e 48 horas)

In this work was developed a program capable of performing automatic counting of vehicles on roads. The problem of counting vehicles is using expensive techniques for its realization, techniques which often involve manual counting or degradation of the pavement. The main motivation for this work was the importance that the vehicle counting represents to the Traffic Engineer, being essential to analyze the performance of the roads, allowing to measure the need for installation of traffic lights, roundabouts, access ways, among other means capable of ensuring a continuous flow and safe for vehicles. The main objective of this work was to apply a statistical segmentation technique recently developed, based on a nonparametric linear regression model, to solve the segmentation problem of the program counter. The development program was based on the creation of three major modules, one for the segmentation, another for the tracking and another for the recognition. For the development of the segmentation module, it was applied a statistical technique combined with the segmentation by background difference, in order to optimize the process. The tracking module was developed based on the use of Kalman filters and application of simple concepts of analytical geometry. To develop the recognition module, it was used Fourier descriptors and a neural network multilayer perceptron, trained by backpropagation. Besides the development of the modules, it was also developed a control logic capable of performing the interconnection among the modules, mainly based on a data structure called state. The analysis of the results was applied to the program counter and its component modules, and the individual analysis served as a means to establish the par ameter values of techniques used. The find result was positive, since the statistical segmentation technique proved to be very useful and the developed program was able to count the vehicles belonging to the three goal..

This paper aims to understand so that organizations in times of crisis - exposed to social media, especially Facebook - they conceive strategies to minimize any factors that shake with your credibility, image and reputation. There for, the case study on the crisis experienced by Ades brand in March 2013 was chosen. The methodology of the work consists of bibliographic research and analytical as well as the presentation and case study, covering the concepts of Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media, Reputation Management and Image, Branding and Integrated Communication. This work was divided into four chapters that present the management of communication in the digital age, the presentation of the global Unilever brand and it brand Ades; exposure to the crisis and its repercussion and an analysis of the case under the stance of public relations, in this order
