In managing an Inpatient unit, nurses face the need to make decisions involving agents in the institution’s internal and external environments, and all these measures are influential, regardless of how beneficial they may be. Hence, ethical issues constitute an important dimension of nursing management. This study aimed at identifying measures and/or interventions adopted by managing nurses at Inpatient Units in the Botucatu School of Medicine University Hospital - UNESP with the purpose to analyze professional ethics. The study involved nurses holding technicalsupervision positions in sectors related to the Nursing Division, comprising a total number of 20. The exploratory method was used by means of taped interviews with a qualitative approach based on the Collective Subject Discourse. Human resources deficit was observed as nurses’ major concern in relation to nursing care provision. The managers seek the nursing staff’s development by means of educational activities in their own unit at the same time that they adopt those offered by the hospital. When ethical violations occur, they resort to measures ranging from individual strategies for violators’ orientation to legal intervention. The resolution of ethical conflicts by nursing managers generally occurs in a gradual fashion by taking into account their compromising level, whether in relation to the patient or to the multiprofessional team. Educational activities are focused on the development of technical skills aiming at preventing physical damage to patients although educational activities targeted at the development of professionals’ ethical awareness were not mentioned

Next, one member of the surgery team was invited to voluntarily participate in the study by signing an informed consent form and answering guiding questions. Thirty members of the surgery team participated in the study. Bardin’s Content Analysis Method was used to organize and analyze the data. As regards the safety provided by the checklist, the following thematic categories emerged: “It reduces risk and possible complications”; “It standardizes conducts and reviews safety steps”; “It allows for better understanding of the process”; and “It provides safety to the team as a whole”. The category “It is not included in the institution’s routine” emerged from the subjects’ statements when they understood that, in this form, the checklist does not provide safety to surgical procedures. As regards communication, two thematic categories emerged: ...(Complete abstract click electronic access below)

A historical research was held from a survey on Durval Marcondes’s work and the team led by him confined in the epigraph theme. It was found from that work that the link between mental hygiene, new school and psychoanalysis developed a pioneering service of care to children with school problems based on the diagnostic evaluation and guidance of parents and teachers. Objective: The objective of this work, and review concepts on the physiology of hormones Adrenals to enhance pre, trans and post-operative care to dentists facing surgical, dental care of immunosuppressed patients. Literature review: The corticosteroids are among the most used drugs in medicine in recent times due to its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activities, especially in transplant patients and patients with chronic autoimmune diseases. However, the continuing use of these drugs leads to a decrease in endogenous production of cortisol by the adrenal. Besides depressing the patient’s immune system, it may generate many parallel undesirable effects like blocking the production of the natural hormone of adrenal cortex, or steroid called cortisol, which may be the cause of a malfunctioning of the adrenal gland, causing hypofunction or hyperfunction of the gland. Final considerations: This fact will lead to changes in the planning of dental surgery, where it will be necessary special actions towards the patients who have this condition.
