Improving the Efficiency of the South Carolina Real Estate Commission's License Renewal Process

The goal of this project is to increase the amount of successful real estate license renewals while reducing the disruption caused by manual processing and calls for assistance with renewals and technical issues. The data utilized in this project will demonstrate that the Real Estate Commission renewal process can be improved by utilizing electronic resources such as more detailed website information and repeat e-mail notices, through modifications to the online renewal process to reduce applicant error, and by increasing the visibility of online renewal log-in instructions while decreasing the visibility and use of mail-in applications.

The Orientation and Onboarding of South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Instructors

The goal of this research is to enhance what is currently being presented in the Human Resource orientation and to provide an onboarding checklist for the supervisors of newly hired instructors at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Research supports the overall goal of creating a two day orientation for newly hired instructors at SCCJA.

South Carolina/Common Pleas Court Circuits Meeting Benchmark ... as of June 30, 2016

This is a list of the courts in all the circuits of South Carolina and the percentage of cases disposed of in 365 day or less. All but four of the courts met the 80% benchmark.

Review of Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation Allegations Involving SC Mentor, a Private Provider for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs

This review was requested by the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs for an independent review of allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation at SC Mentor, a private provider of residential services for DDSN consumers. An analysis of incidents did not indicate systemic abuse towards consumers inasmuch as the majority of the ANE reporting system contained allegations more akin to staff/facility performance issues and the vast majority of all allegations were unsustained by independent investigations. In the future, DDSN should expand the level of detail in its ANE reporting, which currently only reports total allegations and sustained criminal incidents.
