Efeitos da Reeducação Postural Global na Hipercifose e nas Variáveis Respiratórias de Idosos Relato de Dois Casos

Examine the effects Global Postural Reeducation, (GPR) in hyperkyphosis and respiratory variables in the elderly was the objective in the research. For this, two elderly participated, one is 62 years old (voluntary 1) and another is 66 years old (voluntary 2), without lung, heart, kidney and/or skeletal-muscle diseases diagnosed. The volunteer have been assessed for Quality of Life (QOL) through the questionnaire SF-36, the degree of toracic kyphosis, the muscular respiratory strength and the thoracic-abdominal mobility. The GRP treatment consisted in eight sessions applied, once one hour each session. After the eight sessions the volunteer were reevaluated. The data concerning assessments before and after treatment were analysed describly. According to the results there was an improvement in the degree of kyphosis in both volunteers, highlighting voluntary 2. Respiratory variables also improvements after treatment. In relation to the Quality of life in most areas there has been an increase in scores indicating improved QOL. These data showed that the GPR has been effective to decrease the level of kyphosis, improves respiratory variables and the quality of life in the elderly treated. However, further work with a greater number of subjects must be carried out to analyze the effectiveness of therapy in the elderly.

Síndrome de Cornélia de Lange: relato de dois casos com variabilidade clínica

O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar dois casos de pacientes com síndrome de Cornelia de Lange, comparando seus quadros clínicos com os achados da literatura e ressaltando a variabilidade fenotípica existente que, eventualmente, pode dificultar o diagnóstico. São apresentados os relatos de dois pacientes com a síndrome. No primeiro caso a criança tem um quadro típico clássico, enquanto a segunda apresenta uma forma moderada da síndrome. O diagnóstico da síndrome de Cornelia de Lange é eminentemente clínico. A despeito de três genes terem sido identificados como possíveis causadores dessa síndrome, exames moleculares para confirmação diagnóstica não estão disponíveis na prática médica cotidiana e, mesmo quando factíveis, podem não confirmar uma suspeita clínica. Neste artigo se discutem as distintas apresentações fenotípicas da síndrome e os critérios clínicos mínimos necessários para confirmação diagnóstica.

Orientação Profissional -Universidade ajuda os jovens a encontrar caminhos profissionais: Relato de Intervenção

O objetivo do presente texto é relatar o processo de intervenção em Orientação Profissional, realizado junto a população formada por adolescentes prévestibulandos do município de Marília, S.P. e região, no período de agosto a novembro de 2010, com a finalidade de favorecer uma escolha consciente do curso superior. Metodologicamente, a pesquisa desenvolveu-se por meio da pesquisa – ação com base em Thiollent (2008). O desenvolvimento da pesquisa ocorreu durante a realização de 10 encontros nas dependências da UNESP, onde os sujeitos puderam estabelecer relações pessoais e interpessoais por meio de discussões, leituras vídeos, dinâmicas de grupo e refletir sobre os vários aspectos que determinam sua escolha profissional, lidar com os dilemas e conflitos dessa escolha e analisar sua trajetória de vida, sua individualidade e como se dá o processo de construção de uma carreira no século XXI.

Nosectomia em felinos portadores de carcinoma espinocelular - Relato de sete casos

Squamous cell carcinoma is a keratinocytes malignant tumor, the definitive diagnosis of this disease is based on histopathology examination of the lesions. The cats nostrils is one of regions commonly affected by this neoplasm. The response to chemotherapeutic agents, cryosurgery and radiotherapy is poor and for this reason surgical resection is instituted for remove the greatest amount of tissue engaged and provide free margins, in case of nasal involvement are indicated nosectomy often needing reconstructive techniques using as advance flaps for synthesis of surgical wounds. Due to the high incidence of feline patients with this entity, this study aims to report and discuss the effectiveness of nosectomy in seven cats with the disease. It is concluded that nosectomy as a therapeutic technique effective in five of seven cats, resecting tumor margin and providing acceptable time and quality life.

Ginástica para idosos: relato de experiência sobre programa desenvolvido na Dinamarca

The increase in the elderly population has been significant in recent years in Brazil, with the growth in the relative share of the population aged 65 or more, which was 4.8% in 1991 and reaching 7.4% in 2010, this occurred mainly due to the growth of the adult population, especially also for the increased participation of the elderly population (IBGE, 2010). This situation has challenges of political, social, economic and mainly related to the health of the elderly population. The practice of physical activity, especially gymnastics, are offered to the population as a means of improving the health and quality of life (BURINI, 2005; MATSUDO, 2002; MAZO, 2003). From this context, this course conclusion work aims to report gymnastics programs developed in Denmark for the elderly population and reflect on the differences and similarities with the Brazilian fitness programs for seniors presented in the literature. The method used to develop this work of completion will review the literature on physical activity programs for seniors and, in particular, gymnastics, developed in Brazil and published in national Physical Education, minimum classification B2 (CAPES, 2012 ). Parallel to this, the description of fitness programs directed to older people in Denmark, as an account of personal experience of five months in Folk High School Gymnastik og Idraetshojskolen Viborg / Denmark. In the results of the study, were founded eight projects of physical activity of elderly people in the articles. Compared with the Brazilian projects studied, and observed Danish, they differ primarily the goals of the programs, which directly influences the activities conducted training. The frequency is similar but the Danish culture of physical exercise, makes Denmark people want to practice more activities off-hours programs. Another equally important aspect that emerges... Inspeção de Precaução de Contato: relato de Experiência de uma Graduanda de Enfermagem Botucatu

Infections Related to Healthcare (IRAS) is a problem of worldwide concern, responsible for much morbidity and lethality. The incidence of IRAS associated with resistant microorganisms has increased worldwide. It is also known that the etiology of bacterial resistance is multifactorial, thus controlling the spread of resistant microorganisms requires the implementation of control measures that involve the performance of standard and contact precautions, plus the use of antimicrobials. To diagnose the problem as to the likely accession of the measures of infection control was prepared in a form to inspect the practices of the health staff acting with patients in contact precautions. The inspections had an educational and awareness, no punitive measures were taken to staff as warnings, suspensions or complains of a breach of ethics. If any irregularities were found, the professional standards of care countershaft contact and the nurse responsible for the head nurse or unit area were notified and counseled about the correct practice of isolation. While an undergraduate student initiated precautionary inspections of contact in order to verify the actual use of isolation measures, since the professionals were unaware of my active participation in the Committee on Infection Control. Facilities and difficulties were encountered in the process, and from the inspections was possible interventions to facilitate compliance with standards for isolation imposed by contact. Since the instrument has significantly improved adherence to contact isolation practices, the members of the Infection Control regulated inspections and intend to use it as a permanent method

Análise de marcadores culturais no par de obras Relato de um certo oriente e The tree of the seventh heaven

This paper presents some results of a study on culturally marked terms in a corpus composed by the Brazilian novel Relato de um certo oriente (1989), by Milton Hatoum, and its translation into English The tree of the seventh heaven, by Ellen Watson. For the analysis of culturally marked terms, we followed the interdisciplinary approach proposed by Camargo (2005, 2007) involving corpus-based translation studies (BAKER, 1993, 1995, 1996, 2000), and the investigations of cultural domains (NIDA, 1945; AUBERT, 1981, 2006). The methodology adopted in the present research required the software WordSmith Tools (SCOTT, 2007), which provides the necessary resources for the collection of data in a corpus of translated texts. The software tool called WordList was used for the selection of the most frequent words in the texts and also for the identification of the culturally marked terms. For the analysis of the culturally marked terms in both texts we used the software tool Concord. The results revealed that most of the culturally marked terms are inserted in the ecological domain, and the other terms are distributed in the domains of material, social and ideological culture, which reflects the theme of the book.
