植生克雷伯氏菌（Klebsiella planticola 19-1）nifA-like基因的克隆

植生克雷伯氏菌(Klebsiella planticola 19-1)是从新疆鄯善地区玉米根际分离得到的一株联合固氮菌。在40℃高温下有较强的乙炔还原活性。 本工作利用Southern Blot分子杂交技术, 以Klebsiella pneumoniae的nifA为探针，证明了在K．planticola 19-1中存在nifA-like基因，由nifH-lacZ实验推论其nifA-like基因产物对高温相对稳定。经过大质粒电泳和Southern Blot分子杂交，发现nifA-like基因定位于染色体外的大质粒上。本工作进一步克隆了含有K．plonticola 19-1的nifA-like基因的DNA片段，做了它的限制性酶切图谱，并将nifA-like基因初步定位。

Toxicity of some organic biocides to exotic carp fingerlings Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (C and V)

A bioassay study was conducted using three organic pesticides to determine their comparative toxicity to fingerlings of Hypophthalmichthys molitrix. There was wide variation in the toxicity of different pesticides with 24 hr LC sub(50) values ranging from 0.000403 to 0.294 mg/l. Endosulfan appeared to be the most toxic, whereas BHC was the least.

Sex ratios of Metapenaeus kutchensis George, George and Rao, 1963 and Parapenaeopsis sculptilis (Heller, 1862) in the Gulf of Kachchh, Western India

Sex ratio data of two species of penaeid prawns Metapenaues kutchensis George, George and Rao, 1963 and Parapenaeopsis sculptilis (Heller, 1862), occurring in the Gulf of Kachchh, were statistically analysed. A preponderance of females was observed in both the species and the ratio of male to female for both years combined for M. kutchensis and P. sculptilis was found to be 1:15 and 1:2.7, respectively. Chi-square analysis revealed significant difference in the sex ratio of the two species.

This report concerns the aquatic and semiaquatic Hemiptera collected in Sri Lanka by Prof. Starmühlner and Prof. Costa during November and December 1970. A surprising number of new species have been found in the Starmühlner-Costa material, even in groups for which comprehensive revisions exist. Seven new species are described here.
