The Jararaca River Basin suffers significative environmental impacts caused by inaccurate land use. In Brazil, the areas for permanent preservation are defined and protected by the 2012 Federal Law 12.651. These areas are located in the bank side and other specific places. The objective of this paper was to analyze the results of possible alternatives in function of different procedures used in the proposal elaboration. The methodology used was the elaboration of a priority map for the recovery of these areas using the Geographic Information System with multicriterial analyses and comparing it with the guidelines from the Jararaca River Basin Management Plan. As a result, there were identified differences in the priorities defined by technical issues from the priorities defined by public consultation process.

Joaquin Torres Garcia reversed the position of the map of the continent, reaching South America north. This little drawing illustrates an article by Torres García, 1935, in which he advocates the creation of a "Escuela del Sur". This image illustrates a need in Latin America to seek their own ways. Torres-Garcia was inspired by the preColumbian American heritage for their symbolic and Constructivism proposes that Latin America look to the popular ancestral and cultural traditions and build an art itself through which the continent would no longer be a tributary of European culture. As production visual modern and contemporary Latin American context of globalization, takes the center / periphery relationship? The colonizer's model center/periphery relationship persists in the Latin American visual production? The technologies offered other ways of representation that break with the culture of repetition? These questions guide our research.

This essay sketches some principles according to which a research project called “Mapping of math teacher education and practice in Brazil” is been conducted by a group of researchers with the objective of understanding the way policies related to teacher education and practice are effectively implemented in different regions of the country. The main objective of this article is, therefore, to discuss the pressupositions of this project, its foundation, the basic beliefs in which it is rooted. In order to emphasize such principles, some remarks on theorization, methodology, teacher education, narratives and on the concept of mobilization/apropriation are done. The essay is based on a metaphor built on cartographical practices.

This paper has two main objective the study of the productive space circuit of fertilizers in Brazil. For this, we study the company's operations Vale Fertilizers SA More specifically, the production and consumption of fertilizers in Brazil. In the current globalization the Brazilian countryside know new ways of doing (SANTOS, 1994). This, with less roughness, adopts the Green Revolution package, and introduces inputs to the soil, such as seeders, combines, tractors, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers (Santos & Silveira, 2001). The examination of the Brazilian case as the agricultural modernization reveals the great vulnerability of modern agricultural regions in the face of globalizing modernization (Santos, 2000: 92). The places that receive capital reproduction of imperatives gain a new medium, is the formation of informational scientific technical means, are the bright spots corresponding to other places (Santos, 1994). Thus, the productive circuits are no longer confined to the environment, but establish connections with distant places (Santos, 1986; Frederick & CASTILLO, 2004). What's more, the policy is now made in the market (Santos, 2000, p.67) and the adoption by the Brazilian government's neoliberal policies, the Brazilian state-owned companies related to fertilizer production circuit are privatized, thereby Brazil makes It is further more dependent on inputs used in the field, including fertilizers
