Os sistemas do tipo correia transportadora, são sistemas essenciais para grandes empresas, embora este equipamento apresente um elevado grau de criticidade, de modo que uma parada não planejada do mesmo, pode gerar perdas imensas ou até mesmo a parada de todo o processo produtivo. Tendo em vista a criticidade do equipamento, torna-se necessário realizar a monitoração adequada do mesmo e detectar com maior antecedência possível a ocorrência de alguma falta ocorrida no sistema. Objetivando reduzir as paradas não planejadas, investiga-se nesta dissertação a modelagem de um sistema do tipo correia transportadora com a finalidade de uso no monitoramento e diagnóstico de faltas neste tipo de sistema. Primeiramente é discutido um modelo fenomenológico do processo, o qual é baseado na aplicação das leis da mecânica e considerando-se os diversos tipos de força de oposição ao movimento de uma correia transportadora. Os principais parâmetros do transportador foram estimados utilizando-se técnicas de identificação baseadas em Mínimos Quadrados Não Recursivos. Em seguida, foi desenvolvido e implementado um algoritmo de detecção de faltas utilizando a teoria de análise intervalar, de modo que possibilite detectar condições inadequadas de funcionamento. Com o intuito de avaliar o desempenho do algoritmo proposto foi projetado e construído um protótipo que emula as condições operacionais típicas de um sistema real do tipo correia transportadora. Os resultados obtidos experimentalmente, confirmam o bom desempenho da metodologia proposta.

A importância do monitoramento ambiental é medida pelos vários casos de derramamentos de óleo ocorridos no mundo durante as últimas três décadas. Isto tem incentivado as empresas e órgãos do governo envolvidos na prevenção e combate a estes acidentes a aperfeiçoarem cada vez mais os métodos, tanto preventivos como corretivos, para a minimização dos danos gerados por acidentes com derramamento de óleo. Este trabalho objetiva contextualizar de forma histórica como os acidentes com derramamento de óleo propiciaram o desenvolvimento de pesquisa tecnológica a partir de parcerias entre empresas de petróleo, agências de governo, universidades e institutos de pesquisa no Brasil, em especial na zona costeira Amazônica. Como resultado, índices de sensibilidade ambiental ao derramamento de óleo (ISA) foram definidos especialmente para a Amazônia costeira, onde processos fluviais e marinhos se encontram na foz do maior rio do mundo, o rio Amazonas. Perspectivas de pesquisa e respostas de emergência a acidentes são apresentadas, a fim de se conservar a diversidade socioambiental da mais importante região tropical do planeta.

This study aims to test a new conceptual model based on the relationship between quality management (QM), environmental management maturity (EMM), adoption of external practices of green supply chain management (GSCM) (green purchasing and collaboration with customers) and green performance (GP) with data from 95 Brazilian firms with ISO 14001. To our knowledge, such links and relationships are not simultaneously identified and tested in the literature. The results indicate the validation of all of the research hypotheses. This paper highlights that an improvement in green performance will require attention to quality management, environmental management maturity, and green supply chain. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd. The strategic management of information plays a fundamental role in the organizational management process since the decision-making process depend on the need for survival in a highly competitive market. Companies are constantly concerned about information transparency and good practices of corporate governance (CG) which, in turn, directs relations between the controlling power of the company and investors. In this context, this article presents the relationship between the disclosing of information of joint-stock companies by means of using XBRL, the open data model adopted by the Brazilian government, a model that boosted the publication of Information Access Law (Lei de Acesso à Informação), nº 12,527 of 18 November 2011. Information access should be permeated by a mediation policy in order to subsidize the knowledge construction and decision-making of investors. The XBRL is the main model for the publishing of financial information. The use of XBRL by means of new semantic standard created for Linked Data, strengthens the information dissemination, as well as creates analysis mechanisms and cross-referencing of data with different open databases available on the Internet, providing added value to the data/information accessed by civil society.

As aves apresentam diversas características que as tornam peças importantes tanto para a educação ambiental, quanto nas tentativas de conservação de habitats. Para isso, levantamentos da composição da avifauna são fundamentais. Assim, realizou-se o levantamento qualitativo das aves que frequentam os espaços de maior circulação de pessoas do Campus de Rubião Junior, UNESP/Botucatu-SP, entre os meses de Março e Outubro de 2009. Adotou-se o método de transectos lineares, através do qual se percorreu dois trajetos distintos, nos horários de maior atividade das aves. As observações foram feitas com o auxílio de binóculos, além de algumas espécies terem sido registradas visual e/ou sonoramente por câmera fotográfica e gravador. Para a identificação das espécies, utilizou-se basicamente guias de campo. Além da lista de espécies, foi possível também calcular as frequências de ocorrência delas. Foram detectadas 67 espécies, distribuídas em 26 famílias, sendo Tyrannidae a mais representativa (15 espécies). O percurso 1 apresentou 13 espécies exclusivas, enquanto o percurso 2, apenas 4. A maioria das espécies (36) apresentou frequência de ocorrência total inferior a 25% e apenas 12 puderam ser consideradas residentes, com frequência de ocorrência total igual ou superior a 75%. Dentre as famílias com mais de um representante, Columbidae apresentou a maior proporção de número de espécies com alta frequência de ocorrência total (> 50%). Os resultados revelaram maior riqueza de espécies na área com maior diversidade de habitats e menor fluxo de pessoas

Atlantic Forest and Cerrado are between the biological richest areas in the world, for that are considered top conservation priorities. Those ecosystems are found at Botucatu region, where it´s extremely fragmented by routes, agricultural areas and urban centres. This fragmentation causes restrictions on animals populations, in particular to medium and large mammals, that needs larger areas to live and also are often hunted. Even isolated and suffering anthropic influences the fragments are fundamental for local biodiversity conservation. We realized a mammal survey on two forest fragments of Atlantic forest transition to Cerrado of Rubião Júnior – Botucatu – SP – Brazil: Santo Antônio Church and Parque das Cascatas forests. The Santo Antônio church munt is considered a turistic point and its forest receive many visitants, Parque das Cascatas forest is inside of a residential condominium. Both areas are classify as semidecidual stational forest and are disconected by Domingos Sartori route, that connect Botucatu centre to Rubião Júnior district. Around both fragments can be found residences, plantations and pastures. The utilized method included: recognition of tracks on the forests, interviews with next residents and sand plots mounting. The interviews indicated 29 mammals species, and 19 was validated for animal traces, overruns or visualization. Other 3 species found were not mentioned on interviews. Totally, was found 22 small and medium mammals presence evidences on both forest fragments. Parque das Cascatas forest showed more diversity (19) then Santo Antônio Church forest (11), and species like Eira barbara, Procyon cancrivorus, Mazama americana, Shiggurus villosus, Dasypus novemcinctus, Didelphis albiventris, Lutreolina crassicaudata and Lepus europaeus looked for other areas once that was verifyed overruns of individuals... This work approaches, in a simplified manner, the analysis of an aircraft’s trajectory through the 3 main flight phases, climb, cruise and descent, related to fuel consumption and elapsed time. From this analysis is developed a tool that aims optimize the flight planning operational procedure, providing an altitude that comply with fuel saving during the trip, or minimizes the trip time. The use of any altitude is an operator’s decision, that aims comply with their operational needs of each trip, getting the results provided by the tool as a primary approach to the flight profile that also bring up economics aspects of each possibility of decision to be taken. Since the aeronautical Market has singular problems, as the flight altitude optimization, there is the need to solutions very customized that many times can not attend every restriction for each operator and its related kind of operation. When we talk about executive aircrafts, is possible to note that its operators does not have enough engineering and logistic support, when compared to huge airlines companies, to analyze all exceptions of each singular operation, creating many times wastes that can be avoiding with a tool described herein in this work

Taking into account the changes in the market scenario by virtue of globalization, Institutes of Higher Education (IES) as well as other organizations seek their competitive stability. For that reason, it is up to organizations to adopt innovative models of management for their operations aimed at improving results. Company networks consist of a model that is perfect for uniting efforts through cooperation among partners in a given business, which can involve ties of different natures. This paper shows the development and the application of an auxiliary technique to analyze the intensity, nature and importance of internal and external relations in the formation of results for a company network. For such, a multiple case study was conducted at two IES in the State of São Paulo and their networks of partners and employees in order to observe their specificities and organizational strategies. The study demonstrated the existence of specific performance criteria (pillars) for each IES and its network, resulting from its competitive reality. It reveals evidence that the education pillar is strengthened in both cases, and the research pillar is growing, although it is the weakest. The outreach pillar is the most robust in the public IES and the financial sustainability pillar is relevant for the private IES, and it was only detected in this IES.

This work discusses the internal structuring processes of leading companies when adopting green supply chain management (GSCM) practices. A multiple case study approach was adopted as the research methodology, with four large Brazilian companies that are leaders in their market segments. The introduction of green products is a key step towards initiating concern for the environment among suppliers and customers. This study's results show the importance of having green teams, a dedicated functional area, and/or green jobs that support the discussion of environmental management among a business and beyond. The practical results of this study offer new insights into the behavior of companies that are adopting GSCM practices, thereby generating new evidence for the extension of GSCM theory. The objective of this study is to analyze the adoption of lean thinking practices at Brazilian auto part companies. For such, a survey was conducted at 75 sector companies. The results reveal that among all practices, the “systematic search for continuous improvement" obtained the highest implementation average. In terms of correlation, interdependence was observed among all Lean Manufacturing variables, most especially between LM5 (Kanban) and LM6 (Just-in-Time). This correlation can be explained by the importance of Kanban systems when implementing Just-inTime.
