Tietojärjestelmän kehittäminen markkinaehtoisten sähkösopimusten hallintaan

Tässä työssä toteutettiin Lappeenrannan Energia Oy:lle tietojärjestelmäratkaisu, jolla yritys kykenee helposti ja vaivattomasti hallitsemaan asiakkaiden dynaamiset sähkösopimukset. Työn teoriaosa antaa lukijalle kattavan kuvan tietojärjestelmien kehitysprosessista, sekä esittelee työmenetelmiä ja mahdollisia ongelmia. Myös sähkömarkkinoista esitellään kompakti tietopaketti lukijalle, jotta toteutusosan asiat olisivat selkeämpiä. Käytännön osuus esittelee Lappeenrannan Energia Oy:n dynaamisten sähkösopimusten nykyistä toimintamallia ja uuden toteutettavan tietojärjestelmän vaatimukset. Uuden järjestelmän tavoitteena oli tuoda yritykselle kilpailuetua, parantamalla työn tehokkuutta ja sopimuksien hallintaa. Uusi tietojärjestelmä käydään läpi ominaisuuksittain, jotta saadaan hyvä kokonaiskäsitys sen kaikista ominaisuuksista. Työ käsittää siis toteutuksen aina suunnitteluasteelta lopputulokseen asti. Myös tulevaisuuden kehityksen ensiaskeleet esitellään työn lopuksi.

Etelä-Savon energiatase 2006

The aim of this thesis is to create the energy balance from county of South Savo and 20 municipalities comprising the year 2006. The energy balance is restricted to county and municipality borders. Purpose of energy balance is to clarify the present state of energy supply and present information for future decisions. The main objectives for the future are e.g. replacing oil with renewable energy sources and exploiting the forest reserves of South Savo more effectively. Today South Savo is known as being one of the forerunners in use of renewable energy. The growing demand for energy is in South Savo mostly covered with renewable energy sources such as forest chips. The initial data for this thesis is gathered from local energy companies and energy producers. This thesis also exploits formerly made energy balances, publications and statistic from different organisations. The literature study of thesis begins with the basic information about South Savo and energy sources used in the year 2006. Following the thesis includes the energy balance consisting of primary energy sources and consumption of energy. Rest of the thesis includes facts about carbon dioxide emissions, future energy sources and conclusions of results, reliability and expected use of this thesis. Results of this thesis define well the present state of South Savo and are in line with county goals. The results will be used as an aid for policy-making and for considering the condition of current energy supply in South Savo. The method of doing this energy balance can be adapted for other counties as well.

Balanced Scorecardin tuottama lisäarvo strategian implementoinnissa

The objective of this study was to define the benefits of using the Balanced Scorecard in strategy implementation in general and evaluate its suitability and potential benefits for a case organization. In the theoretical part of the study, a framework for the benefits of using the Balanced Scorecard in strategy implementation was constructed on the basis of several earlier studies. The framework was also used to assist in the evaluation in the empirical part of the study. The case organization was one business area of a Finnish industrial corporation. The study was carried out before implementing the Balanced Scorecard in the case organization. This study revealed that the Balanced Scorecard can generally benefit the strategy implementation in several ways. It could also be applied to the case organization. The potential benefits that the system can bring to the case organization are to assist standardizing operating methods, to intensify communication and steering and to concretize goal-setting and tracking. Some specific demands were also revealed for the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard.

The initial oxidation of transition metal surfaces

Due to their numerous novel technological applications ranging from the example of exhaust catalysts in the automotive industry to the catalytic production of hydro- gen, surface reactions on transition metal substrates have become to be one of the most essential subjects within the surface science community. Although numerous applications exist, there are many details in the different processes that, after many decades of research, remain unknown. There are perhaps as many applications for the corrosion resistant materials such as stainless steels. A thorough knowledge of the details of the simplest reactions occuring on the surfaces, such as oxidation, play a key role in the design of better catalysts, or corrosion resistant materials in the future. This thesis examines the oxidation of metal surfaces from a computational point of view mostly concentrating on copper as a model material. Oxidation is studied from the initial oxidation to the oxygen precovered surface. Important parameters for the initial sticking and dissociation are obtained. The saturation layer is thoroughly studied and the calculated results arecompared with available experimental results. On the saturated surface, some open questions still remain. The present calculations demonstrate, that the saturated part of the surface is excluded from being chemically reactive towards the oxygen molecules. The results suggest, that the reason for the chemical activity of the saturated surface is due to a strain effect occuring between the saturated areas of the surface.

TRACE ja sen käyttö painevesilaitosten mallinnuksessa

Tässä kandidaatintyössä on esitelty U.S. NRC:n kehittämä TRAC/RELAP Advanced Computational Engine termohydrauliikkamallinnusohjelmisto sekä sillä luodun yksinkertaistetun painevesilaitoksen mallin pienimuotoinen simulointi.

Raakaöljyn hinnan muutoksen vaikutus öljy-yhtiöiden tuottoihin 2000-2007

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on ollut selvittää öljy-yhtiöiden tuottojen riippuvuutta raakaöljyn hinnan muutokseen. Tutkimukseen on valittu 13 öljy-yhtiötä laaja-alaisesti ympäri maailmaa, jotta on saatu mahdollisimman kattava kuva maailman öljymarkki-noista. Tutkimusmetodina on käytetty multifaktorimallia, jossa öljy-yhtiöiden tuottoja on selitetty öljyn hinnalla, markkinaportfolion tuotolla, valuuttakurssiriskillä ja korkoriskillä.

Neste Oilin energialaitoksen paineilma- ja syöttövesituotannon energiataloudellinen tarkastelu

Insinöörityön tavoitteena oli tehdä teknillis-taloudellinen selvitystyö Neste Oilin Porvoon jalostamon energialaitoksen paineilma- ja syöttövesituotannosta. Tarkoituksena oli tutkia mahdollisuuksia säästää näihin toimintoihin kuluvaa sähköä luotettavuutta heikentämättä. Ensimmäiseksi täytyi selvittää laitteet joilla säästöihin voitaisiin päästä ja näistä laitteista aiheutuvat kokonaiskustannukset. Koska työssä pyritään säästöihin taajuusmuuttujatekniikan avulla, käsitellään työn alkuosassa taajuusmuuttajien toimintaperiaatteita ja niiden tekniikkaa. Tämän jälkeen työssä tarkastellaan Kilpilahden teollisuusalueen paineilmaverkon nykytila ja miten sitä voitaisiin parantaa. Lopuksi käsitellään energialaitoksen omien kattiloiden syöttövesipumppujen nykytilaa ja mahdollisuuksia niiden kehittämiseen. Valmistajilta saatujen laitehintojen perusteella pystyttiin tekemään investointilaskelmat molemmista kohteista. Työssä esiteltiin yksi uudistamisvaihtoehto molemmille kohteille. Paineilmainvestoinnissa säästöjä haettiin uudentyyppisen kompressorin avulla ja syöttövesijärjestelmässä pumpun moottorin vaihdolla höyryturbiinista taajuusmuuttajaohjattuun sähkömoottoriin. Taloudellisen kannattavuuden lisäksi molemmissa investoinnissa pyrittiin mahdollisuuksien mukaan perehtymään myös tuotannon luotettavuuteen. Nykyisellä sähkönhinnalla molemmat uudistukset tulisivat todella kannattavaksi. Paineilmauudistus tuskin heikentäisi tuotannon luotettavuutta, mutta syöttövesijärjestelmän uudistaminen vaatii tarkkoja selvityksiä, joissa paneudutaan pelkästään tuotannon luotettavuuteen. Selvitystyön avulla Neste Oil saa tiedot näihin uudistuksiin liittyvistä lähtökohdista ja mahdollisuuksista.
