Leizarragaren "Kalendrera": ariera eta korapiloak

[ES] De las menos estudiadas de su época y no siempre adecuadamente valorada, la pequeña obra Kalendrera (La Rochelle, 1571) es una de las escasas joyas que nos han legado las iglesias reformadas europeas del siglo XVI. Breve y aparentemente sencillo y sin artificio, esta Kalendrera o calendario calvinista dispuesto por Joanes Leizarraga se dibuja entreverado de datos diversos y de, a su vez,sutiles carencias de información que bien merecen la atención del lector. Al objeto de iniciar un análisis más exhaustivo de sus fuentes y motivaciones, el presente artículo se propone mostrar la problemática que, tanto desde la perspectiva ideológico-religiosa como desde la estrictamente cultural, concentra el trabajo del beskoiztarra. No es preciso añadir que, para ello, se necesita en primer término comenzar por profundizar en el funcionamiento y comprensión de los mecanismos mismos del Kalendrera.

Hacia los orígenes de la literatura gastronómica: el calendario de Ananio (fr. 5 West)

[ES] El fragmento 5 West de Ananio, un yambógrafo del siglo VI a.C., es probablemente el primer ejemplo de literatura gastronómica en Grecia. En él se mencionan diversos alimentos indicando el mejor momento del año para su consumo, lo que lo convierte en un verdadero calendario gastronómico. Este tema será después particularmente importante en la medicina dietética, reapareciendo también en el personaje del cocinero-médico en la comedia.

An assessment of development options in the longline fishery

The principal objective of this study is to evaluate the benefits that accrue to the national economies as a result of different longline operational models and licensing regimes, computed, for comparability reasons, on a per tonne basis. The primary source for the derivation of these per tonne returns was individual fisheries enterprises currently operating in the sector in the countries chosen for this study. In each case, the company disclosed to the consultant detailed financial, operational and marketing data which has enabled the findings to be based upon actual empirical data, rather than assumptions or interpretations of current practice and benefit outcomes. Data obtained related principally to the 2005 calendar year. [36pp.]

Contributions to the biology of the engraulid Anchoa naso (Gilbert and Pierson, 1898) from Ecuadorian waters

ENGLISH: One phase of the duties of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission is the gathering and interpretation of data concerning the life history of the commercially important bait species throughout the Eastern Pacific Ocean. During 1958 the Commission established a laboratory in Manta, Ecuador to study tuna. It was subsequently found that this fishery was dependent upon one species of anchovy, Anchoa naso, which was locally referred to as "colorado." During the calendar year 1959 approximately 380,000 scoops of bait were taken by the Manta tuna fleet (Schaefer, 1960), which at that time numbered about 23 vessels. Since then the fleet has increased by about 25 per cent and it is probable that the bait catch has increased also. Virtually nothing has been reported concerning the life history of this species. Hildebrand (1943) reviewed its taxonomy and reported standard lengths ranging from 32 to 135 mm. Peterson (1956) examined specimens from Central America and found them to range from 27 to 66 mm. He also indicated that the species spawned over a long period of time. The present report describes some aspects of the life history of Anchoa naso in Ecuadorian waters. The findings are based on 121 collections taken during the period March 1959 through June 1961. SPANISH: Una fase de las obligaciones de La Comisión Interamericana del Atún Tropical es la obtensión e interpretación de los datos concernientes a la historia natural de las especies de carnada comercialmente importantes en todo el Océano Pacifico Oriental. En el año de 1958 la Comisión estableció un laboratorio en Manta, Ecuador, para estudiar el atún. Se encontró subsecuentemente que esta pesquería dependía de una especie de anchoa, Anchoa naso, conocida localmente con el nombre de colorado. Durante el año calendario de 1959, la flota atunera de Manta, que en ese tiempo alcanzaba a unos 23 barcos, obtuvo aproximadamente 380,000 copas (scoops) de carnada (Schaefer, 1960). Desde entonces la flota ha aumentado en un 25 por ciento, y es probable que la captura de peces-cebo haya aumentado también. Nada se ha informado virtualmente sobre la historia natural de esta especie. Hildebrand (1943) revisó su taxonomia e informó sobre su longitud estándar, que varia entre los 32 y 135 mm. Peterson (1956) examinó especímenes de la América Central, y encontró que variaban entre los 27 y 66 mm. También indicó que la especie desova durante un largo periodo de tiempo. El presente informe describe algunos aspectos de la historia natural de la Anchoa naso en aguas ecuatorianas. Application of participatory rural appraisal (PRA) techniques in the verification of fisheries data and trend on Lake Kainji

After several years of surveys on the Kainji Lake fisheries activities by the Nigerian German Kainji Lake Fish promotion Project (KLFPP) trends regarding catches, yield and other parameter begin to emerge. However, it became obvious that some of the data were not quite as accurate as they were believed to be. Looking at the different editions of the statistical bulletin of Kainji Lake, concerning one given fisheries parameter, sometimes it is possible to reveal inconsistencies and unexplained trends. As compared to the survey method, PRA is primarily for analysis of differences in local phenomenon and processes. Therefore, PRA was used as a complementary tool to enhance the knowledge on issues like fisher women, entrepreneurs, gear ownership structure, mode of operation by owners of large gear number, preference in the use of twine and nylon gill nets, and reasons for misinformation on the number of fishing equipment owned by entrepreneurs, which cannot be done with frame survey. PRA techniques like timeline, mapping, seasonal calendar, transect walk and key informant interviews were utilized in the study process

O Divino e o Encantado: um estudo etnográfico sobre a festa açoriana do Espírito Santo no subúrbio do Rio de Janeiro

Este trabalho de pesquisa apresenta a festa do divino espírito santo açoriana, realizada em uma Devoção Particular (Irmandade) localizada no bairro do Encantado, zona norte da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A Festa do Divino é uma festa popular, católica e originária da Península Ibérica que vem sendo realizada, há alguns séculos, em várias partes do mundo, entre elas o Brasil. O objetivo principal do estudo é apresentar, a partir do relato compartilhado com a própria comunidade açoriana, nossos nativos, as várias dimensões constituintes da festa, especificamente, de como ela vem sendo elaborada de forma original no subúrbio do Rio de Janeiro. Sendo a festa uma forma de reafirmação étnica em contextos transnacionais, como definido através da categoria açorianidade criada na década de 30, seus significados (da tradição) vão sendo extrapolados quando diluídos em contextos culturais transnacionais. No Rio de Janeiro tanto a cultura, como a religiosidade popular (evidenciadas através da festa), tornaram-se acessos importantes para o contato social entre açorianos e brasileiros. A irmandade açoriana do Encantado estabeleceu um diálogo ao longo de oito décadas com os moradores locais através da festa, bem marcada no calendário entre os meses de maio e junho. Constituindo-se como um verdadeiro sistema de prestações totais, um espaço privilegiado e complexo de trocas sociais, possibilitou-nos através dos dados etnográficos da pesquisa empírica uma janela para análise de temas importantes das Ciências Sociais como devoção religiosa, trabalho, cultura, tradição e espaço.

Qualidade do ar e atendimentos médicos de emergência por sintomas respiratórios em crianças residentes em Jacarepaguá, Rio de Janeiro

Apesar da cidade do Rio de Janeiro ser uma das mais importantes metrópoles brasileiras são muito pouco conhecidos os efeitos da exposição aos poluentes atmosféricos na saúde da população carioca. Este trabalho foi idealizado para suprir uma parte desta carência. Os poluentes investigados foram PM10, SO2, NO2, CO e O3 e os desfechos envolveram os atendimentos pediátricos de emergência por sintomas respiratórios em três unidades públicas de saúde de Jacarepaguá, entre abril de 2002 e março de 2003. As variáveis de confusão foram a tendência temporal, sazonalidade, temperatura, umidade relativa do ar, precipitação de chuva e infecções respiratórias. Também foram ajustados os efeitos do calendário, isto é, determinados dias do ano que apresentaram comportamentos anormais como feriados e finais de semana. Houve inúmeras falhas no monitoramento de todos os poluentes e devido ao reduzido volume de dados, optou-se por não incluir o SO2 nas análises. Uma vez que os determinantes e as conseqüências clínicas das exposições aos poluentes atmosféricos são bastante distintos nas vias aérias superiores e nas vias aéreas inferiores, um dos estudos verificou a associação dos poluentes do ar com transtornos nestes dois segmentos. Embora de pequena magnitude, somente o O3 apresentou resultado positivo e estatisticamente significativo, tanto com todos os atendimentos de emergência por queixas respiratórias como com os atendimentos motivados por sintomas nas vias aéreas inferiores. O efeito foi no mesmo dia da exposição (lag 0). No outro estudo, investigou-se a associação dos poluentes do ar com os atendimentos de emergência por sintomas de obstrução brônquica. Neste caso, as crianças foram categorizadads em três faixas etárias. Somente as crianças com idades menores que 2 anos tiveram um resultado positivo e estatisticamente significativo, de expressiva magnitude com PM10. Semelhante efeito foi visto com o O3, embora com significado estatístico limítrofe (p<0,06). Também neste estudo o efeito ocorreu no mesmo dia da exposição. Apesar das falhas no monitoramento, nos dois estudos, os parâmetros da poluição ambiental estiveram associados ao aumento do número de atendimentos pediátricos de emergência por motivos respiratórios em Jacarepaguá. Durante o período de estudos, os níveis de todos os poluentes monitorados permaneceram abaixo dos limites recomendados.

Baldugenda: desarrollo evolutivo de una aplicación de gestión de agenda universitaria para Android

En este Proyecto de Fin de Grado se ha realizado el diseño y la implementación de la aplicación Baldugenda. El objetivo que tiene Baldugenda es juntar la agenda universitaria física con los teléfonos móviles y los servicios de Google, para que los alumnos puedan llevar al día los exámenes y sus notas mediante la aplicación. El desarrollo se ha realizado en un marco de integración y colaboración directa de los usuarios en el proyecto, partiendo de un producto mínimo viable inicial e integrando el feedback en la progresiva ampliación de las características del servicio.El sistema se basa en una aplicación nativa para Android conectada con los servicios web de Google Calendar y Google Drive. En implementación se han utilizado tecnologías emergentes, todas de código abierto: Sqlite para el almacenamiento de datos, y como cliente una aplicación Android nativa.
