Health-Related Quality of Life in patients with hepatitis C in double and triple therapy

Abstract OBJECTIVE Comparing Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) scores in patients with chronic hepatitis C undergoing double and triple antiviral therapy and analyzing possible factors related to HRQoL. METHOD HRQoL was assessed using the Short Form 36 and Chronic Liver Disease Questionnaire, which were applied at baseline and at weeks 4, 12 and 16 of treatment to 32 patients divided into two groups: double therapy with pegylated interferon (IFN-PEG) and ribavirin, and triple therapy with PEG-IFN, ribavirin and telaprevir. RESULTS The reduction of HRQoL was greater in patients receiving triple therapy compared to those treated with two drugs, the most critical time is at 12 weeks in both groups. After removal of telaprevir, the triple therapy group significantly improved their HRQoL scores. Anxiety and depression before treatment, employment status and race are significantly related to diminished HRQoL. CONCLUSION Patients undergoing double and triple therapy have diminished HRQoL indexes, but the addition of telaprevir chooses a more significant decrease.

Ovário ínfero, 1-locular ou por vezes 34ocular, geralmente formado a partir de 3 carpelos unidos; placentacão parietal, raramente axilar, placentas com frequência intrusivas; óvulos anatrópicos, horizontais, pêndulos ou ascendentes; estilete 1, com 2 ou geralmente 3 lobos estigmáticos. ou 3 estiletes. Fruto seco ou carnudo, cápsula, baga ou pepónio de casca dura, diversamente deiscente ou indeiscente, I -polispérmico, raras vezes tuna sâmara 1-spérmica. Sementes frequentemente achatadas, por vezex aladas: embrião grande; endosperma ausente. Familia pantropical de cerca de 600 espécies, algumas economicamente importantes como plantas alimenticias.

L'ulcère de Savary: une nouvelle complication du reflux gastro-oesophagien?A propos de 32 observations endoscopiques [Savary's ulcer: a new complication of gastroesophageal reflux? Apropos of 32 endoscopically observed cases].

Savary's ulcer is a rare and little known peptic ulcer situated just above Barrett's esophagus. It is predominant in elderly women, bleeds less than Barrett's ulcer and is almost always associated with peptic stenosis. It is, like Barrett's and Wolf's ulcers, a complication of gastroesophageal reflux and not of Barrett's esophagus.
