A prática avaliativa em uma instituição privada de ensino de língua estrangeira

The main objective of this work is to describe conceptions and practices of evaluation observed at a private language school. The theoretical background was gathered from Demo (2002a, 2002b), Luckesi (2001), Romão (2001), Shohamy (2001), Hughes (1994) and Depresbiteris (1989). Regarding the data collected, we made use of questionnaires, interviews, group discussions and diaries. Results show that the topics “fear of test” and “test content” were the most frequent ones. Furthermore, there was a harmonious relationship between teacher and students when tests were applied. We observed a “non-verbal agreement” between them, that is, there was a minimum content to be studied and to be asked on a test. We also noticed that classroom activities had a more complex level than the content actually tested.

Provides elements for a reflection on methodological strategies in the face of objects of study that prove difficult to approach. Through a case study in education, seeks to show that difficulties in obtaining information and data have been overcome by using an analytical model developed. It is shown that its use allowed inferences broader and reveal hidden inconsistencies in discussions on public and private education. Intended to assist reflection on qualitative research methods for those who deal with such studies. Concludes that the current expectations of management efficiency and transfer of resources sufficient quantity and quality have not materialized with a private enterprise under public education, even if we have succeeded in building a positive image by the promoters of this action with the sectors of public opinion. Prevailing trade policy interests at the expense of the motivations declared the initiative of aid to education, and even can not be said that the initiative has resulted in a private redefined the public character of the systems affected, there is evidence that its implementation represents a unique chapter focused "education", compared to a scenario in which stand out historically mutual aid agreements of a politicaleconomic development between state and private enterprise.

O discurso sobre leitura na esfera escolar e sua relação com o discurso científico

In this paper, the discourse about reading skills uttered by teachers and students is analyzed. The analyses are supported by the Bakhtin’s studies concerning the discourse that necessarily consider the meaning affected by the sphere of the activity in which the enunciation occurs. The concrete utterance, in this perspective, has its identity in relation to the social values that constitute the conscience of the author and in the ideologies that materialize in the discourse, which is always marked by the constitutive relation between the other person and me. The results indicate the following conclusions: the common sense discourse about reading appears in the answers of the analyzed teachers, which consider their students like bad readers, these professionals also do not recognize the technology as a source of reading for their students. Thus, reading that interests the students is not acceptable in school. The symbolic violence practiced by school appears at the moment that the teacher does not consider the student’s language and the readings that interest them; it also appears when the teacher prevents their students to have new readings; moreover, reading is always unique as it is neither new, nor unrepeatable, so it the plurality of meanings is impossible.

Conhecimento de cárie dental e doença periodontal de professores do ensino fundamental segundo o tipo de instituição (pública ou privada)

Aim: observe the knowledge of dental caries and periodontal disease of primary schoolteachers, according to type of institution (public and private) from Araraquara city. methodology: for that participants were 113 teachers from public schools and 57 from private schools. The instrument of analysis was based on a questionnaire with closed and open questions concerning the etiology, prevention and development of dental caries and periodontal disease. Results: 97,3% of public ́s schoolteachers and 91,2% of private ́s schoolteachers answered that they knows what is dental caries, but they didn ́t answer correctly about the caries etiology as being multifactorial and about methods of prevention. Both of schoolteachers (public and private) had more sucessful when answered about bacterial plaque than periodontal disease and yours manifestation. Conclusion: the dental knowledge of schoolteachers in public and private school was evaluated and limited educational programs should be directed to both public and private schoolteachers, in order to increase the level of dental knowledge of them, so that they can act as educational agents with the children.

The present study represents a qualitative thesis, characterized as a case study, which uses the method of the present approach. In addressing the academic home in physical education, there is the constancy of the discussions regarding the curriculum and professional formatting. In view of the curriculum modifications to fit the new legislation, and the fact they are few studies related to private institutions that offer such courses, which offer even greater number of courses when compared to public institutions aimed to investigate and analyze the professional profiles, curricular goals and flows contained in the pedagogical projects of courses bachelor degree in physical education and a private institution of higher education of the State of São Paulo, as well as verifying the existence and adequacy of articulation to the institutional educational project and the institutional development plan. Compounding the literature review discussed the key historical facts relating to courses in physical education in our country, and its path to the current model. Also presented was the law of physical education courses in force in Brazil and some concepts about teaching course projects and their relationship to other institutional documents. Techniques were used to review and document analysis, with primary source documents of their own and other government institution. It found a lack of interest of some private institutions of higher education in official documents available for this type of research, which is bad since there are more courses offered by them compared to public institutions. As for the degree course for training teachers of physical education, found lack of specificity regarding the differentiation between content and the bachelor, which ends up deviating from the expectations contained in the course to the one presented in the curriculum. Protese ocular individualizada em resina acrílica com esfera oca

The technique proposed aims at reducing the weight of individualized ample ocular prostheses using acrylic resins as well as simplifying laboratory procedure. For that, prefabricated hollow spheres made of plastic material, were inserted in the sclera. The average weights of the solid conventional sclera (5.30g) and those of the respective prefabricated plastic ones (3.91g) were compared. The weight reduction was significative with a confidence interval of 95% by the Student t test. ln addition, for illustration purpose, the technique was applied to patients in the ward of the Maxillofacial Prostheses Dicipline of the Dentistry School in the Campus of São José dos Campos - UNESP, having each patient received a solid prosthesis and a hollow prefabricated one made of plastic material. It has been concluded that the prostheses material spheres were inserted are lighter than the ones which received solid spheres; furthermore, thr technique is viable for ample anophtalmic cavities and requires few sessions

The Riot Grrrl movement started in mid-90s and it consists of girls who use rock as a tool of feminist political struggle. Besides using music as a central element of political identity, this movement is also characterized by the formation of an alternative public sphere (formed by fanzines, blogs and e-zines) that functions both as a way to spread their music and as identification trigger mechanism in relation to their political causes. The aim of this article is to study the instruments that these feminists bands - that deviate from the traditional feminist political movements - use to create identification with their audience, especially from an empirical research of e-zines published by these bands and from the communicative action of their leaders in social networks. It is possible to note that, despite other identification mechanisms, testimonies works as a socialization link which marks the alternative public sphere composed by publications made by Riot Grrrls. The testimony serves as a powerful arranger of collective identities, since it is presupposed in the recognition of a world in common, allocating identity as performative action.

Movimentos sociais, ecologia digital, mídias radicais e as narrativas anticapitalistas na esfera pública alternativa global

This article seeks to contribute to the debate on the importance of cultural collective producers of anti-capitalist content, ownership of digital ecology by subaltern segments, the creation of the opposition media to exclusionary globalization and the articulation of alternative and radical public sphere for the recent demonstrations policies in planetary scale. Data were collected in the first half of 2013, on a course completion project in vehicles with citizen journalism characteristics ["Portal Fórum", "Outras Palavras" and "Observatório da Imprensa"]. Partial these mapping results indicate that these manifestations inherited anti-capitalist demands of previous decades, and amplified in [by digitally pathways] in political demonstrations that swept those abrasive months in major cities worldwide.

Controvérsias religiosas e esfera pública: repensando as religiões como discurso

Este texto se propõe a aceitar o desafio proposto por Cristina Pompa em seu texto de apresentação da Mesa Redonda "Religião e Espaço Público", realizada na XXXV Reunião da Anpocs de 2011. A autora nos incita a repensar as abordagens e os conceitos que norteiam os estudos atuais sobre os fenômenos religiosos contemporâneos. Em primeiro lugar cabe reiterar os termos que fundamentaram a justificativa daquele encontro cuja proposição geral compartilho inteiramente. A saber: o debate sobre a esfera religiosa no Brasil tem se articulado, grosso modo, em torno de duas leituras, uma de cunho mais antropológica, outra mais sociológica, que pouco dialogam entre si. A primeira privilegiou a interpretação cosmológica dos universos religiosos e a definição do "sagrado", enquanto a segunda ocupou-se do problema da secularização e modernização das sociedades contemporâneas. No intuito de articular as duas perspectivas em um novo marco teórico, argumento neste trabalho que, para superar o viés normativo implícito nas teorias da secularização sem cair na valorização sacralizadora das cosmologias, propomos repensar o problema das relações entre a esfera religiosa e a esfera pública do ponto de vista das práticas discursivas dos atores, enfatizando o modo como interagem em controvérsias específicas. Desse modo, trataremos a noção de esfera pública, não como uma entidade empírica observável, mas como um espaço de interlocução que ganha visibilidade, em parte, por meio de controvérsias e se constitui discursivamente em contraposição a outras esferas.
