The titanium species existing in titanium silicalite TS-1, which is prepared by hydrothermal method, were investigated using chemical analysis, XRD, FT-IR, Si-29 MAS NMR, UV-VIS, ESR. It has been observed that several kinds of titanium species may exist in titanium silicalite. The form that titanium atoms incorporate into the framework of titanium silicalite synthesized using tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) as template differs from that using the classical method. But, the symmetry of titanium silicalite, changes from monoclinic to orthorhombic with the increase of titanium content in both methods. The Ti-O-2(-) originated from framework titanium and H2O2 has the moderate stability and may be active site in oxidation reaction. TS-1 synthesized using TPABr as template does not contain anatase, but contains a kind of partly condensed titanium species with six-fold coordination. The titanium species may correspond to 270-280 mn band in UV-VIS spectra and also can form Ti-O-2(-). But, this kind of Ti-O-2(-) is very stable and cannot be catalytic active site. So, the six-fold coordination titanium species may be inactive in both the oxidation reaction and the decomposition of H2O2. The hypothesis has been further proved by the phenomena that the titanium species is easily washed off using acid, and acid treating will not influence the catalytic performance of TS-1. Microcalorimetric studies of H-2, NH3 and O-2 adsorption, as well as the NH3 decomposition activities evaluation were used to characterize the iridium catalysts for hydrazine decomposition with different supports (Al2O3, SiO,) and iridium contents (1.8, 10.8 and 22.1%). The higher H-2 chemisorption amounts on Ir/Al2O3 catalysts than those on the corresponding Ir/SiO2 counterparts revealed that the strong interaction of iridium and Al2O3 led to higher dispersion of iridium on Ir/Al2O3 catalysts than on Ir/SiO2 catalysts. The larger increase in strong H-2 adsorption sites on highly loaded Ir/Al2O3 than the corresponding Ir/SiO2 ones could be attributed to the interaction not only between iridium atoms but also between iridium and Al2O3. The microcalorimetric results for NH3 adsorption showed that no apparent chemisorption of NH3 existed on Ir/SiO2 catalysts while NH3 chemisorption amounts increased on Ir/Al2O3 catalysts with iridium loadings, which arose from the interaction of the catalysts support of Al2O3 With chloride anion. Both highly dispersed iridium active sites and chloride anion on Ir/Al2O3 catalysts could be beneficial to the intermediate NH3 decomposition in N2H4 decomposition. The similar O-2 plots of differential heat versus normalized coverage on Ir/Al2O3 and Ir/SiO2 catalysts could not be due to the metal-support interaction, but to the formation of strong Ir-O bond. Carbon supported PtSn alloy and PtSnOx particles with nominal Pt:Sn ratios of 3:1 were prepared by a modified polyol method. High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray microchemical analysis were used to characterize the composition, size, distribution, and morphology of PtSn particles. The particles are predominantly single nanocrystals with diameters in the order of 2.0-3.0 nm. According to the XRD results, the lattice constant of Pt in the PtSn alloy is dilated due to Sn atoms penetrating into the Pt crystalline lattice. While for PtSnOx nanoparticles, the lattice constant of Pt only changed a little. HRTEM micrograph of PtSnOx clearly shows that the change of the spacing of Pt (111) plane is neglectable, meanwhile, SnO2 nanoparticles, characterized with the nominal 0.264 nm spacing of SnO2 (10 1) plane, were found in the vicinity of Pt particles. In contrast, the HRTEM micrograph of PtSn alloy shows that the spacing of Pt (111) plane extends to 0.234 nm from the original 0.226 nm. High resolution energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (HR-EDS) analyses show that all investigated particles in the two PtSn catalysts represent uniform Pt/Sn compositions very close to the nominal one. Cyclic voltammograms (CV) in sulfuric acid show that the hydrogen ad/desorption was inhibited on the surface of PtSn alloy compared to that on the surface of the PtSnOx catalyst. PtSnOx catalyst showed higher catalytic activity for ethanol electro-oxidation than PtSn alloy from the results of chronoamperometry (CA) analysis and the performance of direct ethanol fuel cells (DEFCs). It is deduced that the unchanged lattice parameter of Pt in the PtSnOx catalyst is favorable to ethanol adsorption and meanwhile, tin oxide in the vicinity of Pt nanoparticles could offer oxygen species conveniently to remove the CO-like species of ethanolic residues to free Pt active sites. Multicharged xenon and krypton ions with charge states up to Xe11+ and Kr11+ have been observed in laser ionization of a pulsed xenon or krypton beam by a 25 ns Nd-YAG laser with laser intensity of 10(10)-10(11) W cm(-2) at 532 nm. There is strong evidence to support that those multicharged ions come from cluster-assisted electron recolliding ionizations inside the cluster after multiphoton ionization of atoms in the cluster, the electron can gain its kinetic energy by inverse bremsstrahlung absorption from a laser field quickly.

Niniejszy tom poświęcony jest niezwykle istotnemu zagadnieniu w dydaktyce języków obcych, jakim jest autonomia, rozumiana nie tylko jako zdolność i chęć uczniów do przejęcia choćby części odpowiedzialności za własną naukę, ale również jako gotowość nauczycieli do wyjścia poza ramy instytucjonalne i stworzenia warunków, w których postawy i zachowania o charakterze autonomicznym mogą być rozwijane. Książka stanowi zbiór artykułów opartych na wybranych referatach wygłoszonych podczas konferencji pod hasłem Autonomia ucznia w nauczaniu języków obcych – co osiągnęliśmy i dokąd zmierzamy, zorganizowanej w maju 2007 roku przez Instytut Neofilologii Państwowej Wyższej Szkoły Zawodowej w Koninie oraz Zakład Filologii Angielskiej Wydziału Pedagogiczno-Artystycznego UAM w Kaliszu. Można ją również uznać za kontynuację rozważań nad autonomią zawartych w publikacji z 2004 roku, zatytułowanej Autonomia w nauce języka obcego i będącej pokłosiem pierwszej konferencji poświęconej tej właśnie tematyce.
