The kinetics of prussian blue (PB) film itself during the redox process and of the catalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid (AH_2) on it have been studied in detail. The charge transfer diffusion coefficient D_(ct) in PB film is determined as 2.62×10~(-10)cm~2·s~(-1), using potential-step chronoamperometry, chronocoulometry and constant-current chronopotentialmetry, respectively. The rate constant of the cross-exchange reaction between AH_2 in solution and the active centers in PB film is measured in rotating d...

The electrochemical behavior of myoglobin at a Brilliant Cresyl Blue (BCB) modified platinum gauze electrode and spiral pt wire in the BCB solution in optically transparent thin layer cell base been investigated by using cyclic potential-absorbance method and double potential step chronoabsorptometry. The results reveal a reversible electron transfer resection of myoglobin. Exhaustive reductive and oxidative electrolyses are achieved at the modified platinum surface in 20 and 100s respectively. The formal h...

A monolayer of 1:12 phosphomolybdic anion (PMo_(12)) was modified electrochemically on a glassy carbon electrode and its electrochemical behavior was studied with cyclic voltammetry (CV). It is shown that PMo_(12) film is adsoibed strongly on the surface of glassy carbon electrodes, H~+ ions in the solution plays an important role in the electrochemical processes of PMo_(12) film modified electrodes, whereas other anions, such as Cl~-, NO_3~-, SO_4~(2-), ClO_4~- and PO_4~(3-) etc., do not take par...

The reduction behaviors of the supported platinum-iron catalysts and their comparison with supported iron catalysts were studied by TPR (temperature-programmed reduction)-in situ Fe-57 MBS (Mossbauer spectroscopy). The results indicated that the TPR processes of all Fe-containing catalysts were different from that of bulk alpha-Fe2O3. There were interactions between Pt, Fe and the gamma-Al2O3 or SiO2 support for the Pt-Fe/gamma-Al2O3 and Pt-Fe/SiO2 catalysts. All the iron-containing catalysts show that Fe3+ was highly dispersed on the support (gamma-Al2O3 and SiO2) before reduction. No Fe-0 was found in the reduction processes. The Fe3+ was reduced to Fe2+ in tetrahedral vacancy first for the reduction of the Pt-Fe/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst. No Fe2+ in octahedral vacancy was found in the reduction of the Pt-Fe/SiO2 catalyst. Adding Pt to Fe/support (gamma-Al2O3 or SiO2) could promote the reduction of the Fe species. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
