Caracterização da fauna edáfica em diferentes coberturas vegetais na região norte Fluminense

O sistema solo-serapilheira é o habitat natural para grande variedade de organismos, que diferem em tamanho e metabolismo, responsáveis por inúmeras funções. O monitoramento dos grupos de fauna no sistema solo-serapilheira permite não só uma inferência sobre a funcionalidade destes organismos, mas também uma indicação simples da complexidade ecológica dessas comunidades. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar a distribuição da fauna edáfica nos compartimentos solo e serapilheira em duas épocas do ano e em cinco diferentes coberturas vegetais (eucalipto, floresta não preservada, floresta preservada, capoeira, pasto) no Norte Fluminense. As coberturas de floresta natural, especialmente das florestas preservadas e não preservadas, mostraram, de maneira geral, valores de densidade e riqueza de fauna superiores aos de eucalipto e pasto, tanto no solo quanto na serapilheira, nas duas épocas de coleta. Em geral, não houve preferência dos grupos de fauna pelos compartimentos solo e serapilheira. A densidade de fauna, riqueza de espécies, índice de Shannon e índice de Pielou também variaram conforme a época de coleta, sendo, no verão, estabelecidas maiores diferenças entre as diferentes coberturas vegetais estudadas do que no inverno. O índice de Pielou foi a variável mais estável e, portanto, mais apropriada para o estudo da dissimilaridade entre as coberturas vegetais em termos de distribuição dos grupos de fauna.

El DLM-Forum on Electronic Records és un fòrum internacional multidisciplinari, organitzat per la Comissió Europea, que té per objectiu impulsar els projectes per a la millora de la gestió dels documents electrònics en les organitzacions i per a la conservació d'aquests a llarg termini. Al mateix temps, el DLM-Forum esdevé un punt de referència bàsic per a la coordinació de les polítiques de gestió dels documents electrònics que es porten a terme als estats membres de la Unió Europea, per a l'establiment d'estàndards de gestió i de conservació a escala comunitària, i per a la implicació dels agents del sector privat en la recerca de solucions a la problemàtica dels documents electrònics. El present informe exposa l'origen d'aquesta iniciativa, en descriu les dues edicions celebrades fins ara i les perspectives de futur del fòrum.

Del 6 al 8 de maig de 2002 es va celebrar a Barcelona la tercera edició del DLM-Forum on Electronic Records, el fòrum internacional multidisciplinari que té per objectiu la millora de la gestió dels documents electrònics a les organitzacions i conservació a llarg termini. Aquesta edició ha estat marcada per una participació més activa de la indústria de les tecnologies de la informació i de les comunicacions, i per la presentació dels resultats d'iniciatives del DLM-Forum 1996. El present informe descriu la gènesi i el desenvolupament del DLM-Forum de Barcelona, i n'indica els assoliments més remarcables.

Supplemental Information to the August 2008 Cultural Heritage and Records Retention Task Force Report, August 2008

The Rebuild Iowa Cultural Heritage and Records Retention Task Force respectfully submits its report to the Rebuild Iowa Advisory Commission (RIAC) for its consideration of the impacts of the tornadoes, storms, and flooding on Iowans and their cultural, historical, and arts institutions and organizations and records collections and archives. As the RIAC fulfills its obligations to guide the recovery and reconstruction of Iowa, the cknowledgement that culture and records as Iowa’s identity is important, and that if these items of cultural heritage vanish from Iowa’s landscape, the items that Iowans associate with their history, traditions, and sense of place also disappears. Iowa is certainly not the only state that has experienced this type of disaster; however, many states have not recognized culture and records as critical concerns as part of the recovery and rebuilding process. When rebuilding Iowa stronger, smarter, and safer, quality of life is an important consideration for attracting new residents, making it a necessity to keep culture alive and thriving in Iowa. Additionally, the cultural arts constitute a vital economic industry, providing employment to thousands of Iowa’s citizens and generating millions of dollars in local and government revenue across the state. In the case of records, these items are irreplaceable and provide important information for the daily workings of government and life in our state, and maintain vital records of Iowa’s heritage and traditions. This report provides background information on the damages incurred in Iowa from the disasters and additional context for policy and rebuilding discussions. It also offers recommendations to the RIAC for steps that might be taken to address the significant and important challenges faced by Iowa’s cultural, historical, and arts institutions and organizations; individual artists and other cultural workers; and records retention entities and officials. Se acompaña de un catálogo actualizado de toda la fauna estudiada hasta el presente en dicho yacimiento ampliándose con especies hasta ahora no citadas de Crustceos y Equínidos halladas por nosotros

Boring activity of Epibionts in an Early Holocene molluscan fauna of Spanish Catalunya

Using X-Ray techniques, the boring activities of various Invertebrates on Bivalvia of wmian age were studied. Emphasis is placed on the boring activity of Porifera and their apparent preselection of the species bored, based on: a) the mineralogical composition, and/or b) the microstucture, andlor c) some special environmental conditions, or d) combinations of these three posibilities.
