The capital gains from trade are not enough: Evidence from the environmental accounts of Venezuela and Mexico

In principle, a country can not endure negative genuine savings for longperiods of time without experiencing declining consumption. Nevertheless,theoreticians envisage two alternatives to explain how an exporter ofnon-renewable natural resources could experience permanent negativegenuine savings and still ensure sustainability. The first one allegesthat the capital gains arising from the expected improvement in theterms of trade would suffice to compensate for the negative savings ofthe resource exporter. The second alternative points at technologicalchange as a way to avoid economic collapse. This paper uses the dataof Venezuela and Mexico to empirically test the first of these twohypotheses. The results presented here prove that the terms oftrade do not suffice to compensate the depletion of oil reservesin these two open economies.

Cerambycidae (Coleoptera) coletados na Venezuela na copa de Matayba (Sapindaceae) e Vochysia (Vochysiaceae)

Cerambycidae coletados em Surumoni, Amazonas, Venezuela, com o auxílio de uma grua, por armadilha de interceptação de vôo e armadilha luminosa nas copas de Matayba guianensis Aubl e Vochysia sp. resultaram em novos registros para 14 espécies e descrição de quatro novas: Erythropterus urucuri sp. nov. (Heteropsini), Eriphus ruBELLus sp. nov. (Trachyderini), Lissonotus kuaiuba sp. nov. (Lissonotini) e Acyphoderes itaiuba sp. nov. (Rhinotragini).

A new species of Leschenaultia Robineau-Desvoidy (Diptera, Tachinidae) from Venezuela and new geographical records

Leschenaultia barbarae sp. nov. is described from Cojedes state, Venezuela. This species is similar to Leschenaultia bicolor (Macquart, 1846) but can be distinguished from this species by the combination of the following characters: anterior tarsal claws longer than second tarsomere of the same leg, and cerci, in lateral view, finer and no so strongly curved back as in L. bicolor (Macquart).

Novo registro e novas espécies de Cerambycinae (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) de Trinidad and Tobago e da Venezuela

Novas espécies descritas de Trinidad and Tobago: Plocaederus dozieri sp. nov. (Cerambycini, Cerambycina), Anelaphus trinidadensis sp. nov. (Elaphidionini), Piezocera rufula sp. nov. (Piezocerini), Assycuera marcelae sp. nov. and Ceralocyna venusta sp. nov. (Trachyderini, Ancylocerina). Neocompsa pallida sp. nov. (Ibidionin) é descrita de Trinidad and Tobago e da Venezuela. Ommata (O.) gallardi Peñaherrera & Tavakilian, 2004 (Rhinotragini), descrita originalmente da Guiana Francesa, é registrada para Trinidad and Tobago.

En aquest treball hem analitzat què és l’espai públic a partir d’un recorregut històric i la importància que en ell juguen els drets i llibertats fonamentals. El límit de la salvaguarda de la seguretat que s’aplica a aquests drets en l’espai públic suposa la reducció d’aquest espai que en principi seria un espai que deuria existir pel caràcter públic d’aquestes llibertats i drets que, segons la nostra constitució, son inherents a la dignitat de l’home. En canvi, a partir de tota la jurisprudència recollida, ens trobem davant d’una reducció d’aquest espai entès com una concessió per part de l’Estat d’uns drets a l’individu que aquest pugui exercir amb uns límits determinats.
