Inclusión laboral de personas catalogadas como discapacitadas. Algunas reflexiones para un debate necesario

El presente artículo expone algunas reflexiones respecto a la inclusión laboral de personas catalogadas social y culturalmente como discapacitadas. Su contenido se estructura a partir de la pregunta: ¿por qué la participación de esta población en el mercado laboral se concibió y aún se concibe como problemática? En primer lugar, se esbozan dos posibles respuestas a este interrogante y se las presenta en forma de tesis. Posteriormente, se examinan los programas nacionales de promoción del empleo, orientados a este sector poblacional, focalizando el análisis en las tesis anteriormente expuestas. Finalmente en las conclusiones se plantea que si bien la pregunta que estructura el artículo puede interpretarse como ingenua, constituye una pregunta fundamental al reflexionar sobre el fenómeno de la discapacidad y su vinculación con el mercado laboral, desde un enfoque de derechos humanos. A su vez se expone que las dos tesis propuestas revelan las principales barreras a la empleabilidad e inserción laboral de esta población. Se alude a las barreras culturales, es decir, al conjunto de representaciones sociales, ideas y concepciones sobre la empleabilidad, la discapacidad, las personas definidas como discapacitadas y sus posibilidades de empleabilidad, arraigadas en el imaginario colectivo. Se afirma que abordar estas barreras es fundamental ya que supone aproximarnos al núcleo profundo de la problemática.

Micro atividades para a aprendizagem de programação

A forma de lecionação das disciplinas de introdução à programação tem sido objeto de preocupação, discussão e de estudo em reuniões de avaliação do funcionamento dos cursos da área da Informática em muitas instituições de ensino superior. O trabalho descrito neste artigo pretende dar um contributo para o sucesso dessas disciplinas, procurando contribuir para aumentar a motivação e a autonomia dos alunos na resolução de exercícios de programação. A proposta consiste na realização de micro-atividades baseadas em webquests, onde o aluno tem acesso a conteúdos criteriosamente escolhidos para suportar, numa segunda fase, a elaboração de um conjunto de tarefas de complexidade crescente. Dois protótipos foram testados em contexto de sala de aula e os seus resultados analisados e discutidos.

Volumetric interactions of a series of α-amino acids in aqueous magnesium chloride solutions at 278.15, 288.15, 298.15, and 308.15 K

In this work, the partial molar volumes of glycine, l-alanine, l-valine, l-serine, and l-threonine in aqueous solutions of magnesium chloride at 0.0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.7, and 1.0 molal are addressed between 278.15 and 308.15 K. Volumes of transfer were obtained, following the rank serine > glycine a parts per thousand threonine > alanine > valine. Differently, the hydration numbers follow the sequence serine > valine > alanine > threonine > glycine, and dehydration of the amino acids is observed, rising the temperature or salt molality. The data suggest that interactions are mainly pairwise, between the ions and charged/hydrophilic groups of the amino acids. Within the Friedman and Krishnan formalism, a group-contribution scheme has been successfully applied to the pairwise volumetric interaction coefficient. Finally, the dehydration effect of MgCl2 on glycine, alanine, and serine has been predicted applying empirical correlations developed before, showing satisfactory results.

How relevant is the origin of human capital for immigrant wages? Evidence from Spain

The objective of this article is to analyse the role played by the different components of human capital in the wage determination of immigrants in the Spanish labour market. Using microdata from the Encuesta Nacional de Inmigrantes, we find that human capital of immigrants acquired in Spain presents higher returns than human capital obtained in home countries, reflecting the limited international transferability of the latter. This result is reinforced by the strong heterogeneity observed in wage returns to different kinds of human capital across immigrants from different origins and, in particular, by the fact that immigrants with the higher returns to human capital acquired in their home countries are those coming from other developed countries and Latin America, the two regions more similar to Spain in terms of development and/or culture.
