The development of technology for structural composites has as one of its ends form a set of materials that combine high values of mechanical strength and stiffness and low density. Today, companies like Embraer and PETROBRAS and research institutions like NASA, working with these materials with recognized advantages in terms of weight gain, increased performance and low corrosion. We have developed a systematic study to determine the bond strength between composite carbon fiber / epoxy and fiberglass / epoxy laminate both bonded to a carbon steel which are widely used in the petrochemical industry and repair. For morphological evaluation and bonding between materials of different natures, ultrasound analysis, optical microscopy and stereoscopy were performed. To simulate actual conditions, the composites were subjected to conditioning by using heat shock temperatures from -50 to 80 ° C for 1000 cycles for composite carbon fiber / epoxy composites and 2000 cycles for fiberglass / epoxy . The use of composites studied here proved to be efficient to perform repairs in metallic pipes with application petrochemical, as when exposed to sudden changes of temperature (-50 ° to 80 ° C) cycling at 1000 to 2000 times, its mechanical properties (shear and tensile) practically do not change

The paper presents the radiometric parameters determined by the medical physicist during routine radiotherapy planning service in cases of breast cancer . The contours of the breast volume in patients undergoing radiation breast tumors at the Hospital das Clinicas, Faculty of Medicine , UNESP, Botucatu ( HCFMB ) during the year 2012 were analyzed . In order to analyze the influence of physical and radiometric parameters for the determination of the dose distribution of irradiated breast volume , four measurements of isodose curves were prepared in four different heights breast , and compared with the isodose curves plotted computationally . In the routine of planning , the medical physicist must determine the isodose curve that gives the best dose distribution homogeneity in the irradiated volume . The choice of the treatment plan can be done by dedicated computer systems , which require significantly costly investments available services having better financial support . In the Service of Medical Physics , Department of Radiotherapy , HC FMB , we use a two-dimensional software for determination of isodose curves , however , this software is out of date and frequently becomes inoperable due to the lack of maintenance and it is a closed system without feasibility of interference from computer professionals . This fact requires manual preparation of isodose curves , which are subject to uncertainties due to the subjectivity in the clinical interpretation of medical radiation oncologist and medical physicist responsible for planning , plus dispendiar significant calculation time . The choice of the optimal isodose curve depends on the energy of the radiation beam , the geometry and dimensions of the irradiated area . As lipases (triacilglicerol acil hidrolases, E.C. 3.1.1.3) constituem uma classe de enzimas que catalisam a hidrólise de ligações ésteres dos triacilgliceróis de cadeia longa, operando na interface óleo/água. Em meios orgânicos, dependendo da quantidade de água, essas enzimas podem catalisar reações de esterificação e transesterificação, atuando como biocatalisadores da síntese de óleos e gorduras. As lipases destacam-se em processos industriais, nos quais são utilizadas como aditivos na produção de detergentes, de papel e celulose, na indústria de laticínios, de cosméticos, entre outros. As lipases microbianas são de maior interesse para aplicação em biotecnologia e em química orgânica, sendo necessária a prospecção de novas fontes de lipases com propriedades distintas. O presente trabalho avaliou a influência de diferentes meios de cultura, do tempo de cultivo, de fontes de carbono e sua concentração, de fontes de nitrogênio, agitação, pH e temperatura sobre a produção de lipase extracelular pelo fungo filamentoso Penicillium janthinellum, isolado de solo de região de Mata Atlântica. A avaliação das melhores condições de cultivo foi realizada através da análise da atividade enzimática, acompanhada pela determinação do íon ρ-nitrofenol liberado na hidrólise do substrato sintético ρ- nitrofenil palmitato. Os experimentos foram realizados em frascos de Erlenmeyer de 125mL contendo 25mL de meio de cultivo, inoculados com 1mL de suspensão contendo 107 conídios, e incubados a 28°C com agitação de 160 rpm e pH 5,5. Entre os quatro meios de cultura testados, o melhor resultado (0,476 ± 0,04 U/mL), com 5 dias de cultivo, foi verificado com o meio 2 composto por (g/L): bacto-peptona 5,0, extrato de levedura 1,0, NaNO3 0,5, KCl 0,5, MgSO4·7H2O 0,5, KH2PO4 2,0 e azeite de oliva 10,0)... The goal of this paper was to select among the attributes surveyed soil, one with better representation to explain the variability of the technological components of sugar cane. The study was conducted at ETH Eldorado Plant in Rio Brilhante, MS, in the agricultural year 2011/2012, in a Oxisol, which was installed a geostatistical grid for data collection of soil and plant, with 80 sampling points, a 80 ha area. From the standpoint of linear and spatial TCH has been explained as a function of volumetric moisture. The volumetric moisture collected at a depth of 0.00 to 0.20 m, which had values between 0,24 to 0,270 m(3) m(-3), resulted in sites with the highest productivity of sugar cane per hectare from 64 to 70 t ha(-1). To aid future studies aimed at precision agriculture, which will use the same attributes as those of the future works, the values of ranges of spatial dependence to be used should be between 81 and 487 meters.

In the seeds of pioneer plants, the application of treatments for breaking dormancy, and selection by colour and size, are strategies for obtaining seeds of less dormancy and better germination performance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the physical and physiological aspects of seeds of the tall fringe-rush (Fimbristylis dichotoma) on germination and dormancy. To do this, the seeds were submitted to the following treatments in three studies: (i) control, immersion in H2SO4 (98%, 36N) for 1 minute, immersion in KNO3 (1, 2 and 3%) for 15 minutes, seeding on a substrate moistened with KNO3 (0.2%) and exposure for 5 and 10 hours in a forced air circulation oven at 40 and 70 degrees C; (ii) classification of the seeds by colour (light and dark) and application of the following treatments: control, immersion of the seeds in H2SO4 (98%, 36N) for 1 and 2 minutes, immersion in KNO3 (5% and 10%) for 15 and 30 minutes and seeding on a substrate moistened with KNO3 (0.2%); (iii) classification by size (0.60, 0.50 and 0.40 mm) and germination on a substrate moistened with KNO3 (0.2%) or distilled H2O. The seeds were evaluated by germination test, first count and germination speed index. Moistening the substrate with KNO3 (0.2%), and heat treatment at 40 degrees C for 10 hours improve performance in seeds of the tall fringe-rush. Light-coloured seeds do not display dormancy. Medium-sized seeds of the tall fringe-rush show better performance in terms of percentage and speed of germination.
