Introduction: The triangular index and the Poincaré plot (or Lorenz plot) are the best known indexes obtained from geometric methods. The triangular index (TINN, RRtri) represent the global variability of the subject and SD1, which reflects the parasympathetic component, SD2, index of global variability and its relationship (SD1/SD2) are obtained from the Poincaré plot. Despite the literature showing changes in the cardiovascular system during and after the resistance exercise (RE), aspects related to autonomic modulation of heart against these conditions have not been explored yet, so it is important to evaluate this behavior. Objectives: Analyze the acute effects of RE on the cardiac autonomic modulation during recovery (REC) through analysis of geometric indices of heart rate variability (HRV), applied with different intensities and muscle groups in healthy and active young. Methods: Were evaluated 24 young, 22.25 ± 2.4 years and 24.47 ± 3.08 kg/m2, underwent an experimental protocol of five stages, in the first stage was conducted a test of one maximum repetition (1RM) in upper limbs (UL) and lower limb (LL), and the following steps were initiated interventions to 40 (E) and 80% (F) of 1RM. Conventional resistance training (TRC) is capable to generate muscular responses according to provided stimuli, as, training volume and intensity. The TRC results in force gains in general. Studies aim this gain to neural adaptation initially, followed by hypertrophy gains. However, studies that used TRC associated to blood flow restriction (RFS) found rise in force and hypertrophy without necessarily detecting rise in neural activity. A influência da música nos estados emocionais e psicológicos em esportes coletivos

O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar a associação entre música e atividade física no que diz respeito ao bem-estar psicológico e o estado de ânimo de participantes de esportes coletivos. Confirmam os estudos, que os benefícios da prática de atividade física juntamente com a música são muitos e inegáveis. Os participantes de esporte coletivo, por estarem sempre em contato com muitas outras pessoas e sempre sofrendo muitas influências de todos os lados (meio e pessoal), foram os escolhidos para o estudo. A literatura disponível e estudada apóia a idéia de que uma pessoa que esteja na presença de uma música de seu gosto, se estruturando de forma correta, pode se sentir mais motivada e psicologicamente preparada. A diferenciação dada nesse estudo foi à idéia de colocar a música “preferida” e “nãopreferida”, assim conseguimos avaliar a influência positiva e também a negativa dada pela música. Por meio de questionários passados pré e pós a atividade física, fizemos a análise, e a conclusão foi o que os estudos já diziam, de que existe uma clara influência da música tanto nos aspectos do humor, quanto nos psicológicos, positivamente e também negativamente. Considerando tudo isso, a idéia de existirem mais trabalhos para o aprimoramento de treinamentos com a presença da música ideal é o foco do estudo.

Análise da influência da concentração de feixeis de fibras de bambu em ensaios de piso

Bamboo has one of the highest growth rates among plants, however, its lignifications (which confers resistance) takes around a few years and, therefore, certain physical characteristics and mechanical, that depend on this process will only be acquired between the three to six years old. In addition, bamboo also has significant density variations in different parts of the stem, both in the radial direction as the axial. In particular the radial direction, where the density found in the inner and outer (near the bark) of a single stem can range on average from 0.5 to 0.9 g/cm3. Thus, the application of bamboo as a floor, there to examine whether both sides of the bamboo (internal and external), provide resistance properties required for that purpose. In this study sought to characterize and quantify the influence of the concentration of fiber bundles in the inner and outer sides of rules or bamboo strips of bamboo flooring through testing service. Analyses performed were based on ASTM D 2394- 83 for wooden floors and derivatives. This was necessary because of the absence of a specific prohibition of the use and testing of floors made of bamboo and its products. The data were analyzed by ball indentation test shooting, test for resistance to abrasion, indentation test for stress / load treadmill test and by indentation loads applied to small areas - test the jump. The results of the tests were extremely friendly bamboo, even this presents considerable differences between the resistances obtained from assay of the cover of the inner and outer face, being comparable with those of many commonly used to manufacture wood flooring. Aplicação de engenharia tecidual na elevação de seio maxilar: uma revisão sistemática da literatura

The purpose of this literature review is to present the state-of-the-art on the application of tissue engineering techniques in sinus lifts procedures, reporting the influence of these techniques in increasing bone height and volume in the maxillary sinus, and the osseointegration of the implants installed in the grafted areas. PubMed and Scopus databases were searched using the keywords “scaffold” OR “engineered tissue” AND “sinus augmention” OR “sinus floor elevation”. In the initial search 463 articles were selected, of which 19 were selected abstracts reading, with nine papers selected by the end, for evaluation of the application of tissue engineering techniques in sinus lift procedures. Despite the positive results of tissue engineering procedures in sinus floor elevation reported in the selected articles, further studies are still needed, for a better standardization of experimental models and materials used, leading to definitive conclusions about the effects of the application of tissue engineering procedures on bone formation in maxillary sinus lifting procedures.

Influência do gênero na demanda visual por mapas em escalas diferentes em sistema de navegação e guia de rota

This work investigates the gender effect on visual demand of drivers for dynamic maps at different cartographic scales presented In-Vehicle Route Guidance and Navigation System (RGNS). A group of 52 subjects (26 males and 26 females) took part in an experiment performed in a low-cost driving simulator. the driver's task consisted of navigating in an unknown route using a RGNS prototype which presents maps at two different cartographic scales. This paper replicates the known phenomenon of significant relationships between gender and performance at visual-spatial tasks issue. Our results show that drivers of different genders present distinct levels of visual demand both due to the cartographic scales and maneuver complexity variation. These discussed results are based upon individual differences in terms of spatial ability and spatial anxiety.

Numerous studies in physical education and music's area have been conducted to improve the quality of life and health of people, all of them under physiological, psychological and social fields. Thus, when properly analyzed, both Areas are connected, because the movement itself, main subject of physical education, has a close proximity to the rhythm, an essential element of music. That's why it is important to discover the benefits of this relationship, because, in many of its practices, physical education makes use of music, for example, in aerobic gymnastic and dance classes. As a consequence, this study aims to investigate, through literature, the influence of music in physical activities and its imprinting in the states of mind and body of practitioners, as well as clarify the criteria for choice of songs that are used in such practice. This research occurred under literary explore, done through theoretical analysis of the thematic. At first place, a contextualization of the auditory system and its relationship with the music and the perception of sound were made, then the main theme was explored. The music, even before generate and influence motor and psychic movements in the human body, is already moving in space, because it is formed through vibrations of molecules. It is decoded first as a movement from the ears, and then decoded as sound, when in the brain. It is important to worry about sounds at high intensities and also with those which are outside the hearing thresholds within physical activities involving music, because they may be harmful to health and also to states of mind. As far as music and movement is concerned, they are closely linked, and the human being has an instinctive sense of rhythm that can be seen when listening to music, because the motor cortex is also activated. A importância da geometria dos implantes para o planejamento em reabilitação oral: revisão de literatura

The design of implant structure is still a questioning to the professionals, while their variations can to influence of stress distribution favorably to bone. Therefore, the aim of study was to review addressing the topic of osseointegrated implants design establishing answers for the patient oral rehabilitation, according variations existing on the market. It was conducted a detailed search strategy by the PubMed/ Medline and Bireme, it was used as descriptors: “dental implants cylinder”; “dental implants thread”; “dental implants geometry”, until May 2014. From 798 articles, after review were selected 18 articles and 1 specific area book. The results were divided to compare design of implant and threads for further discussion and conclusions. Thus, conclude that the threads implants are best used because of its advantages with respect to the stress distribution and stability primary. The variations of the differents types of threads, have influence for stress distribution.

Biofilmes orais como um possível fator de risco ao câncer bucal: revisão da literatura

Introduction: much studies regarding risk factors associated with oral cancer. Factors such as smoking and alcohol and solar radiation are well established, but others, such as bacterial influence in the development or progression of a tumor still remain unexplained. Interest in the possible relationship between bacteria and different stages of cancer development has increased since the classification of H. pylori by the WHO as a definite carcinogen. Subsequently, links between infection and the onset of cancer in various sites in the body were discovered. Review of literature: this literature review attempts to show the influence of poor oral hygiene, with consequent bacterial accumulation as a possible important risk factor for the initiation and development of mouth cancer, and correlate the possible mechanisms by which bacteria can initiate or promote carcinogenesis. Conclusion: there is much evidence that bacteria in the oral cavity and periodontopathic are present in tumor tissue, however, still can not affirm that these bacteria initiate or promote carcinogenesis.

Influência da clareação sobre a polpa dentária

Tooth bleaching is the most common treatment and more conservative to get a smile with white teeth. However, the tooth sensitivity has been a major adverse effects caused by this treatment, which raises questions about the effect of bleaching the pulp. Therefore, we performed a literature review in order to study the relationship between bleaching agents and their possible effects on the dental pulp. We review various articles showing that the peroxide compound used to whiten teeth, penetrates through enamel and dentin until the pulp chamber causing changes of variable intensity or induce pulp necrosis. Moreover, we found that the higher the concentration of peroxide in the bleaching agent, and the greater the contact time with this dental structure, the greater the damage caused in the pulp. Although several studies show that the bleaching agent hydrogen peroxide-based pulp can make changes, there are still many gaps to be filled.
