This Masters thesis studies the possibilities that social media tools can bring to help knowledge management in software development companies. It will introduce the most popular tools of social media and their usage possibilities in companies, not forgetting the possible downsides. One relevant aspect in this study is to investigate the possibilities of social media to help converting existing tacit knowledge into explicit. The purpose of the work is to create a proposal of social media utilization for a mid-sized software company, which has not utilized social media tools before. To be able to create the proposal, employees of the company are interviewed and a survey is executed to analyze the current situation. In addition a pilot project for trying out new social media tools is executed. The final result of this thesis introduces a tailored solution for the target company to start utilizing social media in its documentation and knowledge sharing processes. This new solution consists of multiple individual suggestions that are categorized and prioritized based on the significance and benefit that they bring to the company.

The objective of this thesis was to study the role of capabilities in purchasing and supply management. For the pre-understanding of the research topic, purchasing and supply management development and the multidimensional, unstructured and complex nature of purchasing and supply management performance was studied in literature review. In addition, a capability-based purchasing and supply management performance framework were researched and structured for the empirical research. Due to the unstructured nature of the research topic, the empirical research is three-pronged in this study including three different research methods: the Delphi method, semi-structured interview, and case research. As a result, the purchasing and supply management capability assessment tool was structured to measure current level of capabilities and impact of capabilities on purchasing and supply management performance. The final results indicate that capabilities are enablers of purchasing and supply management performance, and therefore critical to purchasing and supply performance.

OBJETIVO: avaliar a acurcia da mamografia para o diagnstico de microcalcificaes mamrias suspeitas, com as classificaes do Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS TM) e Le Gal em comparao com o resultado histopatolgico utilizado como padro-ouro. MTODOS: foram selecionados dos arquivos dos blocos cirrgicos, 130 casos operados com mamografias contendo somente microcalcificaes mamrias, inicialmente classificadas como suspeitas sem leses detectveis ao exame clnico. Estas foram reclassificadas por dois examinadores, utilizando as classificaes de Le Gal e BI-RADS TM, obtendo-se diagnstico de consenso. As bipsias foram revistas por dois patologistas e foi obtido diagnstico de consenso. A leitura das mamografias e a reviso das lminas foram feitas em duplo-cego. As anlises estatsticas utilizadas neste estudo foram o teste do chi2, o modelo Fleiss quadrtico para VPP e o programa Epi-Info 6.0. RESULTADOS: a correlao entre a anlise histopatolgica e mamogrfica, usando BI-RADS TM e Le Gal, mostrou a mesma sensibilidade de 96,4%, especificidade de 55,9 e 30,3%, valor preditivo positivo (VPP) de 37,5% e 27,5% e acurcia de 64,6 e 44,6%, respectivamente. Quando discriminamos por categorias de BI-RADS TM, obtivemos VPPs: categoria 2, 0%; categoria 3, 1,8%; categoria 4, 31,6% e categoria 5, 60%. Os VPPs pela classificao de Le Gal foram: categoria 2, 3,1%; categoria 3, 18,1 %; categoria 4, 26,4%; categoria 5, 66,7% e no classificvel, 5,2%. CONCLUSES: observou-se uma maior preciso com a classificao de BI-RADS TM, porm no se conseguiu reduzir a ambigidade na avaliao das microcalcificaes mamrias.

Day surgery has gained a large popularity during the last decades. In Finland, 57% of the elective procedures, and 50% at Turku University Hospital, were already conducted on day basis during 2012. The steady growth of day surgery is mostly due to an increased safety in perioperative care and cost-effectiveness. The development of surgical techniques and anaesthetic methods has advanced the modern day surgery and extended the repertory of the procedures for use in day surgery operations. Day surgery also offers certain benefits like reduced risk for hospital-related infections, stress and confusion. Patient satisfaction, regarding several issues, is high. Most concerns and complaints are related to postoperative pain, nausea and vomiting pain and nausea. Pain can hamper recovery and pain management is a crucial factor for hospital discharge. Appropriate pain treatment is effective, safe, easy and economical. A procedure-specific approach and an individually planned, multimodal analgesia should be the basis of modern pain management. The main aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of anaesthetic technique and methods in pain treatment of orthopaedic day case surgery, and following conclusions were made. Unilateral spinal block was achieved using hyperbaric bupivacaine with a small dose of clonidine but clonidine prolonged the block. Continuous subacromial bupivacaine was found to be safe but conferring only moderate efficacy in pain care after shoulder arthroscopy. Transdermal fentanyl, 12 g/h, as part of multimodal analgesia, offered a safe and easy option to pain management in this patient group. However, after forefoot surgery, it did not reduce pain any further. In general, pain scores in all patient groups were low and the need for rescue opioid moderate.

Digitalization has been predicted to change the future as a growing range of non-routine tasks will be automated, offering new kinds of business models for enterprises. Serviceoriented architecture (SOA) provides a basis for designing and implementing welldefined problems as reusable services, allowing computers to execute them. Serviceoriented design has potential to act as a mediator between IT and human resources, but enterprises struggle with their SOA adoption and lack a linkage between the benefits and costs of services. This thesis studies the phenomenon of service reuse in enterprises, proposing an ontology to link different kinds of services with their role conceptually as a part of the business model. The proposed ontology has been created on the basis of qualitative research conducted in three large enterprises. Service reuse has two roles in enterprises: it enables automated data sharing among human and IT resources, and it may provide cost savings in service development and operations. From a technical viewpoint, the ability to define a business problem as a service is one of the key enablers for achieving service reuse. The research proposes two service identification methods, first to identify prospective services in the existing documentation of the enterprise and secondly to model the services from a functional viewpoint, supporting service identification sessions with business stakeholders.
