Poem (manuscript copy owned by Jonathan Remington and Benjamin Parker), 1782

Paper notebook lacking covers with a handwritten copy of John Davis's 1781 Commencement poem titled “Poem. ” The verso of the last page is inscribed: “Benj’a Parker’s property Given him by Remington March 4th 1782.” The last page has a Latin phrase, "Finis cum fistilo jig," and the phrase, "He that has [some] hair cannot wear a wig."

Hand-sewn binding. Interleaved pages with biographical notes of varying length, usually on one to two alumni per page. Annotations are sporadic and generally note profession (such as "Juris" or "Med.") or residence. Annotations in different hands.

1818, Catalogus senatus academici, eorum qui munera et officia gesserunt, quique alicujus gradus laurea donati sunt in Universitate Harvardiana, Cantabrigiae, in republica Massachusettensi.

Hardcover binding. Includes loose handwritten notes with biographical information. Bound with Catalogus eorum qui adhuc in Universitate Harvardiana ab anno MDCXLII ... gradus laurea donati sunt ..., 1813, a published alphabetical index of Harvard graduates; an additional handwritten, alphabetical index follows with the names of members of the Classes of 1814-1818. A list of "Mem. of those persons who have deceased since the last edition was printed in 1818" includes death dates through 1820.

There are handwritten asterisks next to the names of alumni who died after the Catalogue's publication through 1785. The 1781 class list includes the annotations for "Tutor."

Lectures on Hebrew and Oriental Literature, delivered in Harvard College between the years 1765 and 1782, by Stephen Sewall, AM, AAS Hancock Professor, Volume 1 1765-1767

The volume contains handwritten copies of lectures delivered by Sewall to students, an 1780 letter from Antoine Court de Gébelin written in French and glued into the front inside cover, a preface to the set of lectures, an autobiographical sketch of Sewall, and the statutes governing the Hancock Professorship of Hebrew and other Oriental Languages.

VIII. Harvard College Papers, 1st series, Volume 8, 1815-1820 (bulk 1815-1819)

The eighth volume of College Papers contains original documents dating from 1815 to 1819, spanning the tenures of president John Thornton Kirkland and treasurer John Davis. Much of the volume consists of general administrative correspondence exchanged between Kirkland and Davis. It also contains a document from 1820.
