Estudio de la influencia de la nutrición y genética maternas sobre la programación del desarrollo del tejido adiposo fetal (Estudio PREOBE).

BACKGROUND. Maternal genetics and feeding before and during pregnancy, different maternal metabolic pathologies, as well as nutrient intakes of newborns in their first months of life may be involved in the obesity aetiology and its long-term consequences. The possible role of these and others factors, the mechanisms and the effects on the metabolism, and the development of this disease need further research. OBJECTIVE. To acquire more knowledge about foetal adipose tissue development and the influence of genetic, dietetic and environmental factors on the risk to suffer from obesity. METHODOLOGY. Four study groups have been established with 30 pregnant women in each one: 1) control group; 2) mothers with glucose intolerance/gestational diabetes; 3) women with low weight gain during pregnancy, and 4) women with overweight/obesity at the beginning of the pregnancy. The magnitudes to be studied are: 1) dietary intake; 2) life-style habits; 3) physical activity; 4) anthropometry and body composition; 5) haematological study; 6) biochemical study (lipid and metabolic biomarkers); 7) immune function profile related to nutritional status; 8) psychological profile; 9) genetic biomarkers, and 10) microbiological markers; all of them in relation to the development of the foetal adipose tissue in the first stages of life and the risk of suffering from obesity in the future. CONCLUSION. This project, coordinated by the Department of Paediatrics of the School of Medicine in the University of Granada, and with the collaboration of well-known and expert research groups, tries to contribute to the knowledge about the obesity aetiology in infancy and its subsequent development in later periods of life.

Perspectivas en el diseño y desarrollo de productos para nutrición enteral

Enteral nutrition is a technique that even though it was used in times immemorial, in the last 25 years has suffered a considerable development, from being considered a secondary therapeutic weapon destined only to feed the patient, to occupying an important status that goes beyond the single act of nourishing. The quantitative composition but overall the qualitative one, is object of an interesting argument in which a profile allowing the modulation of certain aspects of the organism response through the supplementation with different nutrients is searched. That includes from the keeping of the intestinal trophism and of the anti-bacteria intestinal barrier, so important to avoid the frightening multiple organ dysfunction, up to the lessening of the Systemic Response Inflammatory Syndrome (SRIS), going through the immuno-modulative feeding concepts, specific-feeding, pharmaco-nutrient or eco-nutrition. In this new dynamic not only certain nutrients such as glutamine, arginine, nucleotides, omega-3 fatty acids and many antioxidants have acquired importance, but also the manipulation of other molecules of a non- nutritional nature, such as hormones, cytokines and blockers. These aspects that imply passionate ways of investigation for the future are born from the better knowledge that is being acquired from such a severe pathophysiology processes such as sepsis and the organism response before fast and severe aggression; therefore, the modulation of that response through changes in the quantitative and qualitative formulas composition is being attempted.

Cambios emocionales y alteraciones en la Inmunoglobulina A (IgA) tras el tratamiento psicológico en mujeres víctimas de violencia doméstica

The aim of this study was to determine the benefits of a psy-chological treatment in women victims of mistreatments in psychological health and in the immune system. The participants in this study were 60 women users of the Equality Area of the City Council of Malaga. We set two groups of women up in relation of whether the women attended or not to the given therapy. Psychological variables (self-esteem, depression and anxiety) and levels of Inmunoglobulin A were evaluated before and after the treatment. The results showed differences between all the vari-ables before and after the treatment, with better valuation after the treat-ment. These differences were not shown in women that did not assist to the therapeutic sessions, and even, the values of depression and immu-noglobulin A levels were worse. We found also differences in the values of these variables when the two groups were compared. Women that re-ceived the treatment showed fewer indicators of psychological alterations and higher levels of immunoglobulin A than the women that did not assist to the sessions; in the pre-treatment these differences were not shown. La asesoría de empresas Ribas Álvarez tiene, actualmente, un problema con la gestión de documentos internos, que se realiza mediante correo interno y una aplicación sencilla de indexación de archivos (HTML); sin ningún tipo de supervisión ni restricción. Esta empresa dispone de un cierto número de trabajadores, los cuales pertenecen a diferentes secciones (privadas o públicas) dentro de la empresa. La información que circula dentro de la empresa, no tiene ningún tipo de seguridad pudiendo cualquier trabajador, disponer de ella aunque no le sea de utilidad. Se quiere crear una aplicación que cumpla con las necesidades que la empresa desea para la administración y gestión de documentos internos, con un control de usuarios y seguridad de acceso a esta aplicación. El objetivo básico de la aplicación seria la creación y gestión de una intranet de control y seguimiento de documentos para una asesoría de empresas

En esta memoria se recoge toda la documentación que se genera en las etapas de desarrollo de un proyecto software: recogida inicial de requerimientos, análisis, diseño, implementación y validación. El software a desarrollar es un aplicativo mobile multiplataforma usando un framework de desarrollo ágil. El objetivo de dicha aplicación es crear una red para compartir información entre usuarios sobre el precio y la localización de los mejores souvenirs en cualquier parte del mundo.

Desarrollo de una unidad de adquisición y monitorización de datos para un vehículo de automoción

El control de cualquier sistema pasa por una correcta e exhaustiva lectura de losparámetros que lo definen, por ello es básica la lectura de las diferentesvariables físicas que lo componen, en nuestro caso estamos hablando de analizarel funcionamiento de un motor de un vehículo de automoción.La unidad que es objeto de este proyecto realiza una lectura, almacenamiento yposterior monitorización de los datos captados por los principales sensores quecontrolan la gestión del motor de un vehículo de automoción, con objeto depoder analizar las lecturas de los sensores y el funcionamiento del motor tantopor parte de un técnico (mecánico o técnico en automoción) como por parte deun usuario.Para poder realizar estas operaciones se ha diseñado una tarjeta de adquisiciónde datos que incorpora una memoria donde se almacenan y posteriormente sevisualizan con un software en LabVIEWTM conectándola a un PC vía un puertoUSB.
