Composting is considered a process that enables adding value to organic solid waste turning them into organic fertilizer. In this process, factors such as mishandling the windrow, failed to control the temperature, aeration and moisture content will result in the quality of waste decomposition, and thus affect the quality of the final compound. Decentralized systems such as home composting, composting in restaurants, food courts and schools are one of the solutions for valuing these waste in a non expensive way and with greater quality. For this purpose, the project aims to analyze the conditions for composting of solid waste of the University Restaurant of Rio Claro- SP, through two different composting systems: manual revolving windrow and static pile. It was found that in University Restaurant (RU) on average 33% by weight of the total waste generated in the property are capable of composting. In this sense, in order to investigate the preliminary process operation parameters were mounted one manual windrow composed of 100% of the UR waste and a static pile composed of 60% of the UR waste and 40% of pruning and grass residues (PG). This study analyzed the manual revolving windrow and static pile systems for the parameters: moisture content, pH, C / N ratio and temperature. The study of the proportions of the PG and UR waste pointed to the need for pruning and grass residues addition for composting, considering that the manual revolving windrow composed by 100% of the UR waste had no satisfactory performance due to low temperatures measured during 60 days analysis. The best ratio for manual revolving windrow method analyzed in this study was 60% of the UR waste and 40% of PG waste, in dry weight. From this proportion a static pile was assembled, composed of 60% of UR waste e 40% of PG waste from the maintenance activities of the green area of the university. Introdução: a eliminação de bactérias dos canais radiculares é essencial no tratamento endodôntico de dentes com polpas necrosadas, desde que bactérias não só causam, mas também mantêm, as lesões periapicais. Objetivo: analisar in vivo a influência de soluções irrigantes (NaOCl 1%, NaOCl 2,5%, solução salina estéril 0,9%) no tratamento de dentes de cães com lesão periapical crônica em sessão única. Métodos: quarenta canais radiculares de três cães da raça Beagle permaneceram expostos à cavidade bucal para permitir a contaminação e a formação de lesões periapicais crônicas. Em seguida, os canais radiculares foram preparados biomecanicamente. Durante a instrumentação, três soluções irrigantes foram utilizadas: G1 – NaOCl 2,5%; G2 – NaOCl 1%; G3 – solução salina estéril 0,9%. O grupo controle (G4) não recebeu tratamento nem selamento coronário. Os canais radiculares foram obturados com cones de guta-percha e Sealapex. As aberturas coronárias foram seladas com IRM e amálgama. Após 6 meses, os animais foram sacrificados e blocos de tecido processados histologicamente para serem corados com hematoxilina e eosina, ou Brown e Brenn. Resultados: não houve diferença histológica significativa entre a utilização de hipoclorito de sódio a 1% ou 2,5% (p>0,05), mas houve entre eles e a solução salina estéril a 0,9% (p<0,05). Conclusão: concluiu-se que o uso de soluções irrigantes com potencial antibacteriano (hipoclorito de sódio a 1% e 2,5%) proveu condições mais favoráveis ao processo de reparo.

Automated Production Systems Development involves aspects concerning the integration of technological components that exist on the market, such as: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), robot manipulators, various sensors and actuators, image processing systems, communication networks and collaborative supervisory systems; all integrated into a single application. This paper proposes an automated platform for experimentation, implemented through typical architecture for Automated Production Systems, which integrates the technological components described above, in order to allow researchers and students to carry out practical laboratory activities. These activities will complement the theoretical knowledge acquired by the students in the classroom, thus improving their training and professional skills. A platform designed using this generic structure will allow users to work within an educational environment that reflects most aspects found in Industrial Automated Manufacturing Systems, such as technology integration, communication networks, process control and production management. In addition, this platform offers the possibility complete automated process of control and supervision via remote connection through the internet (WebLab), enabling knowledge sharing between different teaching and research groups.

The purpose of a water treatment plant (WTP) is to provide quality water to the population in the municipality where it is operate, being directly linked to the health of the community. The efficiency of a water treatment is directly related to the quality and reliability of the methods used. The analytical results of any laboratory test or calibration is a critical process for any company today. A tool used to assist in a quality management system process is ISO/IEC 17025:2005. Given the above, the objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of an ETA located in Lençóis Paulista-SP, using the analytical results obtained by physical, chemical and microbiological determinations in the period 1-30 October 2015. Such determinations are grounded in compliance with current Ordinance 2914 the Ministry of Health and the Quality Management System, which is required for all laboratories carrying out laboratory tests for control and surveillance of water quality for human consumption

Marchantia polymorpha develops under environmental conditions of high relative humidity and shading. As this habitat is the usually used in nurseries for the growth of seedlings of native tree species that species grows very quickly among developing tree seedlings and causes severe losses. This study was undertaken viewing more efficient either physical or chemical methods for the control of M. polymorpha. Two experiments were conducted under greenhouse conditions. In the first acetic acid (10, 20, and 40% of concentration), oxygenated water (50 and 100%) and the herbicides glyphosate (1,680 g AI ha) and fomesafen (375 g AI ha-1 ) were applied to the seedlings. In the second, the treatments consisted of soil previously submitted to a temperature of 105 °C for 48 hours, soil submitted to solarization in black plastic and in transparent plastic bags for 30 days, preemergence application of diuron (1,750 g AI ha-1 ) and trifluralina (1,575 g AI ha-1 ). The visual evaluations of the methods were performed 7, 14, 21, and 28 days after the application (DAA) and at 60 and 120 DAA, respectively, for the first and the second experiment. Only diuron and trifluralina resulted in a 100% control of M. polymorpha 120 DAA.
