INTRODUÇÃO: O clareamento dental representa uma manobra conservadora na recuperação estética de dentes com alterações cromáticas. Contudo, os tratamentos clareadores são passíveis de causar efeitos adversos, quando não bem planejados e executados. OBJETIVO: Este estudo avaliou a influência do gel clareador no aumento da temperatura intra-câmara pulpar através da técnica de clareamento dental fotoativado realizado em consultório. MATERIAL E MÉTODO: Um incisivo central superior humano foi seccionado na porção radicular 3 mm abaixo da junção cemento-esmalte. O canal radicular foi alargado para permitir a introdução do sensor do termômetro na câmara pulpar, a qual foi preenchida com pasta térmica, favorecendo a transferência de calor das paredes dentárias para o sensor do termômetro digital com termopar tipo K (MT- 401A) durante o clareamento. Três agentes clareadores fotossensíveis (peróxido de hidrogênio a 35%) foram utilizados, sendo: Whiteness HP (FGM), Whiteness HP Maxx (FGM) e Lase Peroxide Sensy (DMC). Um aparelho fotopolimerizador de led (Flash Lite - Discus Dental) foi empregado para a ativação dos géis clareadores. Seis ciclos de clareamento foram realizados para cada grupo testado. Os resultados foram submetidos à ANOVA de um critério e ao teste t (LSD) (α<0,05). RESULTADO: A menor média de variação de temperatura (ºC) foi observada com o Lase Peroxide Sensy (0,20), enquanto que a maior com o Whiteness HP (1,50). CONCLUSÃO: Os géis clareadores Whiteness HP e Whiteness HP Maxx interferiram significativamente no aumento da temperatura intra-câmara pulpar durante o clareamento, sendo esta variação dependente do tipo de gel clareador empregado.

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo principal analisar as mudanças nas formas de venda e consumo do açaí na Região Metropolitana de Belém (RMB), e sua relação com a identidade de lugar de seus consumidores. O interesse pelo tema teve origem na observação da ocorrência da globalização do açaí, alimento base da dieta das populações amazônicas de origem ribeirinha que hoje é largamente consumido fora da Região Amazônica, em padrões muito diferentes daqueles nela estabelecidos. A escolha da RMB como lócus de pesquisa se justifica pelo fato de que nela se concentra alto consumo de açaí, nos padrões tradicionais e nos modernos, suscitando questionamentos sobre os efeitos dessa convivência na vida cotidiana dos que a habitam. Teoricamente, a pesquisa articula a definição de identidade de lugar de Abe-Lima (2012) com as elaborações de Henri Lefèbvre (1991) sobre a vida cotidiana no mundo moderno e com teoria dos circuitos econômicos de Milton Santos (2008). Metodologicamente, foi adotada uma estratégia multimétodos, envolvendo pesquisa documental, um painel de especialistas com 5 entidades de acompanhamento da produção de açaí, observações pautadas na etnografia urbana em 9 locais de venda e entrevistas semiabertas com 40 consumidores de açaí, maiores de 18 anos e residentes na RMB, recrutados por meio de cadeia tipo bola de neve. Além dos roteiros de entrevistas, foram utilizados como estratégias de coleta de dados diários de campo e fotografias. O conjunto dos dados foi submetido à técnica da análise de conteúdo temática, com eventual apoio do software QDA Miner Lite. Os resultados situaram a globalização do açaí em meados da década de 1990, momento de intensificação dos efeitos da metropolização em Belém, como o aumento populacional, a segregação espacial e a imposição de um ritmo de vida mais acelerado. As análises apontaram que tal processo significou a entrada do açaí no circuito superior da economia, com um processo produtivo mais organizado, utilizando mais tecnologia e envolvendo maiores volumes financeiros, atingindo escala industrial. No entanto, prevalece na RMB o processamento artesanal, em estruturas de pequeno porte, construídas em alvenaria, de organização simples e controle financeiro ausente. O consumo público aumentou, com grande número de locais especializados na oferta de açaí, em caráter de entretenimento, sendo incipiente a adesão a novos acompanhamentos, como granola e aveia. A preferência pelos acompanhamentos tradicionais, como farinha d’água ou de tapioca, açúcar e peixe, permanece, assim como pelo consumo privado, no âmbito da casa, que tem sido favorecido pela disponibilidade do serviço de entrega, recurso recente. A frequência geral de consumo diminuiu, em função do aumento de preço e de mudanças na rotina, como aumento da distância entre local de trabalho e residência. A pesquisa permitiu reafirmar a importância do açaí na vida cotidiana dos belenenses que o consomem, para os quais ele funciona como elemento de distintividade, continuidade, autoestima e autoeficácia, em estreita relação com aspectos próprios da metrópole. Por esse motivo, torna-se preocupante que o acesso a açaí de qualidade, nos padrões desejados pelos indivíduos, esteja tornando-SE privilégio inacessível aos consumidores de menor poder aquisitivo. Assim, espera-se que o conjunto de dados contribua para a compreensão da importância de políticas públicas voltadas ao açaí que considerem melhor as demandas daqueles que o consomem.

Examining three bleaching systems, this in vivo clinical trial evaluated the relationship among tooth sensitivity, light activation, and agent concentration, and it correlated dental sensitivity with tooth thickness.Materials and Methods: Eighty-seven volunteer patients were included. Inclusion criteria were the presence of anterior teeth without restorations as well as the absence of a previous bleaching experience and absence of non-carious cervical lesions or dental pain. Exclusion criteria included pregnancy or breastfeeding, a maximum of TF3 hypoplasia, tetracycline-fluorosis stains, malpositioned teeth, orthodontic treatment, periodontal disease, and/or analgesic/anti-inflammatory intake. Patients were randomly assigned to three bleaching groups: Group A (n=25) was treated with 15% H2O2 and nitrogenous-titanium-dioxide and was light activated (Lase Peroxide Lite, DMC, SaoCarlos, Sao Paulo, Brazil); Group B (n=27) was treated with 35% H2O2 and was light activated (Lase Peroxide Sensy, DMC); and Group C (n=35) was treated with 35% H2O2 (White Gold Office, Dentsply, 38West Clark Ave., Milford, USA) without light activation. Tooth sensitivity (TS) was self-reported by the patients using the visual analog scale (VAS) at baseline (TSO), immediately after treatment (TSI), and at seven days after treatment (TS7). In 46 patients, tooth thickness was determined by computed tomography. TSO, TSI, and TS7 were compared between the A and B groups to determine the effect of concentration and between the B and C groups to determine the effect of light using analysis of covariance. The correlation between tooth thickness and TSI was determined by Spearman Rho test (SPSS 15).Results: Eighty-seven patients were evaluated at baseline, and 61 were evaluated at seven days. Separated by groups, tooth sensitivity, expressed as VAS value at the time points TS0, TS1, and TS7, respectively, were as follows: Group A: 13.76 +/- 13.53, 24.40 +/- 25.24, and 5.94 +/- 5.5; Group B: 15.07 +/- 18.14, 42.4 +/- 31.78, and 8.68 +/- 17.99; and Group C: 10.80 +/- 14.83, 31.51 +/- 29.34, and 7.24 +/- 9.2. Group A showed significantly lower tooth sensitivity than group B at TSI (p=0.032). No differences were observed in the tooth sensitivities between groups B and C. No correlation was encountered between tooth thickness and tooth sensitivity immediately after treatment (Rho=-0.088,p=0.563). The median tooth thickness was 2.78 +/- 0.21 mm.Conclusions: Increases in the concentration of bleaching agents directly affect tooth sensitivity, and LED/laser activation and tooth thickness are not correlated with tooth sensitivity after dental bleaching.

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo desarrollar un análisis de varios factores relacionados al poeta y escritor francés Charles Perrault en su trabajo de transposición de los cuentos populares de la cultura oral a la cultura escrita. Aquí analizamos el contexto histórico en que vivió el autor, así como las condiciones sociales y económicas que generaban un determinado estilo de vida en aquel momento, es decir, el período pre-revolucionario, los abusos cometidos por las clases altas contra el pueblo y la búsqueda de la burguesía por promoción social. Analizará cómo todos estos factores, de alguna manera, han contribuido a la formación de una recepción favorable de Los Cuentos de mi Madre la Oca por la élite cultural de la época y del siglo siguiente. Con base en los estudios sobre la vida del poeta francés, también se ofrecen algunos acontecimientos personales y familiares que conforman la historia de la creación de su famosa colección. Por último, será analizada la categoría del narrador y su importancia para el sentido propio de la obra

The study evaluated the influence of light curing units and immersion media on superficial roughness and microhardness of the nanofilled composite resin Supreme XT (3M/ESPE). Light curing units used were: XL 3000 (3M/ESPE), Jet Lite 4000 Plus (JMorita) and Ultralume Led 5 (Ultradent) and immersion media were artificial saliva, Coke®, tea and coffee, totaling 12 experimental groups. Specimens (10mm x 2mm) were immersed in each respective solution for 5 seconds, three times a day, during 60 days and so, were submitted to measure of superficial roughness (Ra) and Vickers hardness. Data were subjected to two-way ANOVA test (p<0.05). Results showed that only the light source factor showed statistically difference for hardness. It was observed that the hardness of the composite resin Filtek Supreme XT (3M/ESPE) was influenced by the light source (p<0.01) independently of the immersion media (p= 0.35) and the Jet Lite 4000 Plus (JMorita) was the light curing unit that presented lower values. In relation to surface roughness, it was noted no-significant statistical difference for light source (p=0.84), when specimens were immersed in different beverages (p=0.35).

Aims: The study evaluated the influence of light curing units and immersionmedia on superficial morphology and chemistry of the nanofilled composite resin Supreme XT (3M)through the EDX analysis and SEM evaluation. Light curing units with different power densitiesand mode of application used were XL 3000 (480 mW/cm2), Jet Lite 4000 Plus (1230mW/cm2), andUltralume Led 5 (790 mW/cm2) and immersion media were artificial saliva, Coke1, tea and coffee,totaling 12 experimental groups. Specimens (10 mm 3 2 mm) were immersed in each respectivesolution for 5 min, three times a day, during 60 days and stored in artificial saliva at 378C 6 18Cbetween immersion periods. Topography and chemical analysis was qualitative. Findings: Groupsimmersed in artificial saliva, showed homogeneous degradation of matrix and deposition of calciumat the material surface. Regarding coffee, there was a reasonable chemical degradation with loss ofload particles and deposition of ions. For tea, superficial degradation occurred in specific areaswith deposition of calcium, carbon, potassium and phosphorus. For Coke1, excessive matrix degra-dation and loss of load particles with deposition of calcium, sodium, and potassium. Conclusion:Light curing units did not influence the superficial morphology of composite resin tested, but theimmersion beverages did. This study evaluated the influence of light sources and immersion media on the color stability of a nanofilled composite resin. Conventional halogen, high-power-density halogen and high-power-density light-emitting diode (LED) units were used. There were 4 immersion media: coffee, tea, Coke® and artificial saliva. A total of 180 specimens (10 mm x 2 mm) were prepared, immersed in artificial saliva for 24 h at 37±1ºC, and had their initial color measured with a spectrophotometer according to the CIELab system. Then, the specimens were immersed in the 4 media during 60 days. Data from the color change and luminosity were collected and subjected to statistical analysis by the Kruskall-Wallis test (p<0.05). For immersion time, the data were subjected to two-way ANOVA test and Fisher's test (p<0.05). High-power-density LED (ΔE=1.91) promoted similar color stability of the composite resin to that of the tested halogen curing units (Jet Lite 4000 plus--ΔE=2.05; XL 3000--ΔE=2.28). Coffee (ΔE=8.40; ΔL=-5.21) showed the highest influence on color stability of the studied composite resin. There was no significant difference in color stability regardless of the light sources, and coffee was the immersion medium that promoted the highest color changes on the tested composite resin.

Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) are chemical substances extraordinarily toxic and persistent in the environment. Due to these properties, POPs are targets of the Stockholm Convention which aims to provide means to eliminate production and use by encouraging the reduction and, where possible, eliminating the release of these contaminants to the environment. One of the articles of this _Convention aims to assess the basal levels of such substances in the environment to monitor both the reduction of release to the environment, and to assess human exposure, using analyzes of milk and air for example. Although efforts to control POPs production and release to the environment have been made, data about their levels in Brazil are still scarce, mainly in the atmosphere or indoor environment. Considering the permanence of people inside its house, this study presents a method for POP extraction from XAD-2 sorbent employed in indoor air sampling, with identification and quantification by GC-ECD. GC-ECD linear range of the studied analytes, congeners of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) (28, 52, 101, 118, 138, 153 and 180), DDTs and their metabolites (DDDs, DDEs) and endosullan (isomers c - and 13 - and metabolite endosulfan sulfate) ranged between 0.5 and 16.0 ng mL-I with r2 > 0.967. The method developing consist of selecting the extraction solvent system by agitation (90 rpm, 1 hour) with n-hexan,e (2 mL) or n-hexane:acetone (1:1, v/v) (2 mL), concentration the extract with a gentle N2 stream, and evaluation of breakthrough with passage or air through the fortified XAD-2 cartridge before extraction, employing a low volume air suction pump (Pump Model 224 universal-PCXR8; 5-5000 mL min-1, SKC Inc., Eighty Four, PA, USA), Calibrator Dry-Cal DC-Lite (BIOS, Butler, NJ, USA)). Dental avulsion is the most severe type of traumatic tooth injuries because it causes damageto several structures and results in the complete displacement of the tooth from its socketin the alveolar bone. The ideal situation is to replant an exarticulated tooth immediatelyafter avulsion because the extraoral time is a determinant factor for treatment successand for a good prognosis. However, it is not always possible. The success of replantationdepends on a number of factors that may contribute to accelerate or minimize theoccurrence of root resorption or ankylosis, among which is the type and characteristicsof the medium used for temporary storage during the time elapsed between avulsionand replantation. Maintaining the tooth in an adequate wet medium that can preserve,as longer as possible, the vitality of the periodontal ligament cells that remain on rootsurface is the key to success of replantation. Recent research has led to the developmentof storage media that produce conditions that closely resemble the original socketenvironment, with adequate osmolality (cell pressure), pH, nutritional metabolites andglucose, and thus create the best possible conditions for storage. Syftet med denna uppsats är att genom kvalitativa intervjuer belysa om barn med svensk bakgrund i lågstadieåldern (d.v.s. 7-9 åringar) har fördomar mot personer med invandrarbakgrund. Med ordet fördomar benämner vi uppfattningar och föreställningar om en annan grupp som stör personens kritiska tänkande. Personer med invandrarbakgrund benämns som en person som är född utanför norden och skiljer sig från den svenska normen utseendemässigt. Vi har också jämfört två klasser en utan och en med fler elever med invandrarbakgrund för att se om det visade någon skillnad i attityderna mot invandrare i de olika klasserna. Fem barn i vardera klass blev intervjuade. Barnen fick svara på ett antal relativt öppna frågor angående deras inställning och kännedom om personer med invandrarbakgrund. Elevernas svar analyserades utifrån tidigare forskning om barns utveckling och fördomars uppkomst. Utifrån barnens svar kunde vi se att de hade fördomar mot personer med invandrarbakgrund. Då de båda klasserna jämfördes visade det sig att de var väldigt lika, men att man kan urskilja vissa små skillnader, dessa skillnader visade på att eleverna i klassen utan elever med invandrarbakgrund var lite mer fördomsfulla. Vi fick fram att snällhet var viktigt samt att förstå varandras språk. Barnen är också väldigt medvetna om hudfärg.
