The effects of information presentation on real estate market perceptions

The study seeks to identify systematic differences in perception of the real estate market caused by the frames through which people obtain market information. We operationalise the frames through manipulation of data presentation in a commercial real estate market report, selectively controlling time scale, proportionality distortion and negative value presentation. Our findings suggest that such differences are real and their effects should be taken into account in the design and interpretation of market reports.

This note presents the special issue on Experimental and Behavioral Economics. The volume includes some recent contributions from these correlated disciplines –empirical the former and theoretical the latter– and their potential contribution to the intersection of Economics with Psychology and Sociology. The project “El papel de la comparación social en las decisiones económicas bajo incertidumbre” (Junta de Andalucía, P07-SEJ-03155)” provided us with inspiration and financial support to publish this volume.

Unusual Presentation of Brain Aspergillosis in Chronic Granulomatous Disease

Aspergillus is a frequently observed pathogen in patients with chronic granulomatous disease. We report on a patient with chronic granulomatous disease and severe brain aspergillosis with an unusual presentation and favorable course. We discuss the impact of this infection on morbidity and mortality, adequate therapeutic management, and the need to investigate a possible fungal infection, despite nonspecific signs. Systemarkitektur för presentation av geografiskinformation- Utredning av Informationssystem och produkter

Banverket Trafik has a responsibility to make sure that the companies who traffic the Swedish railroad have the correct information about the status of the railroad. One of Banverket Trafiks information systems (Opera) presents the train’s actual position on a map and provides the user with physical information about the trains. Due to increasing demands on the information systems, Banverket Trafik needs to update the present system architecture in order to manage the increasing demands on map graphics and map functions. This paper analysis the information system Opera on the basis of theory and support of methods and discuss problems and demands for Opera. Further we investigate three GIS products to se if they meet the demands. Information about the products was gathered from both supplier and independent users to get a just picture of the products potentials. This paper comprises a suggestion of new system architecture that meet these needs. The suggested system architecture is capable of handling the map graphics and the map’s functions of more than one information system. Hopefully more than one information system will use the suggested system architecture as a map service.
