A regulação política da sexualidade no âmbito da família por saberes e instituições médicas brasileiras : 1838-1940

Esta tese tem como objeto a regulação política da sexualidade no âmbito da família por saberes e instituições médicas brasileiras (1838-1940). Orienta-se pelo interesse em analisar continuidades e descontinuidades na construção de objetos, estratégias e táticas políticas direcionados para a regulação higiênica e eugênica do casamento e da sexualidade infantil. De inspiração foucaultiana, inscreve-se no campo da história dos saberes e está subsidiada por um conjunto heterogêneo de documentos (teses, artigos de periódicos, livros, anais etc.) circunscritos, majoritariamente, ao campo da medicina. Analisa a constituição de uma defesa higiênica dos casamentos no pensamento médico novecentista, voltada para remanejamentos das figuras de esposa e marido na nova configuração de família que começava a se esboçar no Brasil, contrastando-a com a regulação católica da moral sexual colonial. Em seguida, descreve a visibilidade higiênica que a medicina dará a infância no século XIX, problematizando especificamente o interesse pelo tema da masturbação, que articula simultaneamente a família, centrada na figura da mãe, e a escola na convocação de zelar pela criança. Partindo das contradições sociais que se apresentaram na construção do projeto liberal nacional a partir da década de 1870, discute a apropriação do discurso da degenerescência pelo saber médico-psiquiátrico brasileiro, que propiciou uma leitura da brasilidade marcada pelo excesso sexual e pela condição degenerada da miscigenação, a fim de pensar as condições de possibilidade para a emergência do projeto de eugenia matrimonial institucionalizado nas primeiras décadas do século XX e toma como táticas a campanha pela compulsoriedade do exame pré-nupcial, o combate aos casamentos consanguíneos, o controle do contágio venéreo e o aconselhamento sexual dos casais. Analisa a campanha de educação sexual, cuja pretensão de instituir uma sciencia sexual no Brasil, de legitimidade controversa, tinha como horizonte viabilizar uma profilaxia sexual que mitigasse a produção da criminalidade, das perversões sexuais e das doenças nervosas, bem como os desajustes familiares, a partir da fabricação de um novo objeto, qual seja, a sexualidade infantil, no qual incidirá uma nova pedagogia. Nesse particular, aponta particularidades discursivas da difusão das idéias freudianas entre higienistas brasileiros. Finalmente, sinaliza a constituição da higiene mental da criança como um novo domínio para a psiquiatria brasileira, que tomou a intensa circulação afetiva intrafamiliar como ponto de ancoragem para um projeto de normalização social, ainda centrado na eugenia, mas já atravessado por uma psicologia da adaptação.

Auditoría energética en un edificio de viviendas

[ES]Este trabajo tiene como objetivos realizar la auditoria energética de un edificio de viviendas y planificar un proyecto de posibles mejoras para aumentar la nota obtenida. La certificación se ha llevado a cabo mediante el programa CE3X, programa homologado por el Ministerio de Industria. La calificación del edificio ha sido 89.8 G y tras implantar las mejoras se ha conseguido una puntuación de 14.8 C, de acuerdo con la actual normativa europea. También, se adjuntan varias imágenes sobre el funcionamiento del programa CE3X además del certificado real obtenido. La planificación y el presupuesto de las mejoras están incluidos en este documento.

The polarization of the recoil proton in ETA photoproduction

We measured the recoil proton polarization in the process γp → pη at the 1.5 GeV Caltech electron synchrotron, at photon energies from 0.8 to 1.1 GeV, and at center-of-mass production angles around 90°. A counter-spark chamber array was used to determine the kinematics of all particles in the final state of the partial mode γp → pη (η → 2γ). The protons' polarization was determined by measuring an asymmetry in scattering off carbon. Analysis of 280,000 pictures yielded 2400 useful scatters with a background which was 30% of the foreground. The polarization results show a sizeable opposite parity interference at 830 MeV, 950 MeV, and 1100 MeV.

Photoproduction of charged pion pairs from hydrogen at energies up to 1500 MeV

Charged pion pair photoproduction has been investigated up to a gamma energy of 1500 MeV, using the Caltech 12-inch heavy liquid bubble chamber with a small diameter, high intensity photon beam passing through a central beam tube gaseous hydrogen target surrounded by the sensitive Freon. Scanning, analysis, and data reduction techniques have been developed to deal with the problems of two-vie stereo, hidden event origins, absence of magnetic field, and the range-energy and multiple scattering relationships that occur in the heavy materials. Roughly 5700 pictures have been scanned and analyzed, yielding 754 acceptable events. Cross section and parameter distributions are generally consistent with the results of previous experiments. A statistically insignificant “bump” was observed in the dipion mass spectrum in the region of 500 MeV, the disputed σ meson mass. This region was investigated as carefully as the limited statistics would allow; dipion angular distributions are consistent with isotropy, and there is indication that some of the events in this region might come from decay of an intermediate N*₁₁ (1425) into a proton and dipion.

Experimental study study of antiproton-proton annihilation into a pair of charged Pi-Mesons or K-Mesons for incident antiproton mementa in the range from 0.72 GeV/c to 2.62 GeV/c

The cross sections for the two antiproton-proton annihilation-in-flight modes,

ˉp + p → π⁺ + π^-

ˉp + p → k⁺ + k^-

were measured for fifteen laboratory antiproton beam momenta ranging from 0.72 to 2.62 GeV/c. No magnets were used to determine the charges in the final state. As a result, the angular distributions were obtained in the form [dσ/dΩ (Θ_C.M.) + dσ/dΩ (π – Θ_C.M.)] for 45 ≲ Θ_C.M. ≲ 135°.

A hodoscope-counter system was used to discriminate against events with final states having more than two particles and antiproton-proton elastic scattering events. One spark chamber was used to record the track of each of the two charged final particles. A total of about 40,000 pictures were taken. The events were analyzed by measuring the laboratory angle of the track in each chamber. The value of the square of the mass of the final particles was calculated for each event assuming the reaction

ˉp + p → a pair of particles with equal masses.

About 20,000 events were found to be either annihilation into π ^±-pair or k ^±-pair events. The two different charged meson pair modes were also distinctly separated.

The average differential cross section of ˉp + p → π⁺ + π^- varied from ~ 25 µb/sr at antiproton beam momentum 0.72 GeV/c (total energy in center-of-mass system, √s = 2.0 GeV) to ~ 2 µb/sr at beam momentum 2.62 GeV/c (√s = 2.64 GeV). The most striking feature in the angular distribution was a peak at Θ_C.M. = 90° (cos Θ_C.M. = 0) which increased with √s and reached a maximum at √s ~ 2.1 GeV (beam momentum ~ 1.1 GeV/c). Then it diminished and seemed to disappear completely at √s ~ 2.5 GeV (beam momentum ~ 2.13 GeV/c). A valley in the angular distribution occurred at cos Θ_C.M. ≈ 0.4. The differential cross section then increased as cos Θ_C.M. approached 1.

The average differential cross section for ˉp + p → k⁺ + k^- was about one third of that of the π^±-pair mode throughout the energy range of this experiment. At the lower energies, the angular distribution, unlike that of the π^±-pair mode, was quite isotropic. However, a peak at Θ_C.M. = 90° seemed to develop at √s ~ 2.37 GeV (antiproton beam momentum ~ 1.82 GeV/c). No observable change was seen at that energy in the π^±-pair cross section.

The possible connection of these features with the observed meson resonances at 2.2 GeV and 2.38 GeV, and its implications, were discussed.

Photoproduction of ETA mesons from hydrogen at photon energies between 0.8 and 1.45 GeV

We measured the differential cross section of the process γp → pƞ at the 1.5 GeV Caltech electron synchrotron, at photon energies from 0.8 to 1.45 GeV, at various angles between 45° and 100° in the center of mass. A counter-spark chamber array was used to determine the kinematics of all particles in the final state of the partial mode γp → pƞ (ƞ → 2γ). Analysis of 40,000 pictures yielded 6,000 events above a background which varied with energy from 5% to 30% of foreground. The cross section shows an energy dependence confirming earlier results up to 1000 MeV, but with improved statistics; it then remains roughly constant (at 50° C.M.), to 1.45 GeV. The data show a small angular variation, within the limited range covered, at energies between 1000 and 1100 MeV.

Noras e sogras: sobre relações familiares, conflitos e imagens

O presente trabalho tem como foco o parentesco por aliança, sendo esta uma relação que se estabelece sem o privilégio da escolha, tão cara aos indivíduos na contemporaneidade. Neste sentido, busca avaliar como se dá o processo de integração e inserção da nora na família por aliança e a percepção da sogra diante da chegada, na família, deste novo membro feminino; como os cônjuges, pivôs do parentesco por aliança, imprimem ritmo à relação com a parentela e ainda, que estratégias constroem para superação de tensões e conflitos. Os efeitos dos diferentes pertencimentos sociais sobre estas relações é um ponto que deve ser considerado na medida em que as trocas materiais são, muitas vezes, responsáveis pela aproximação dos indivíduos na família. Vale ressaltar as imagens de família como instrumento rico para análise das relações.
