EASL Clinical Practice Guidelines: Wilson's disease.

This Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) has been developed to assist physicians and other healthcare providers in the diagnosis and management of patients with Wilson's disease. The goal is to describe a number of generally accepted approaches for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of Wilson's disease. Recommendations are based on a systematic literature review in the Medline (PubMed version), Embase (Dialog version), and the Cochrane Library databases using entries from 1966 to 2011. The Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system used in other EASL CPGs was used and set against the somewhat different grading system used in the AASLD guidelines (Table 1A and B). Unfortunately, there is not a single randomized controlled trial conducted in Wilson's disease which has an optimal design. Thus, it is impossible to assign a high or even a moderate quality of evidence to any of the questions dealt with in these guidelines. The evaluation is mostly based on large case series which have been reported within the last decades.

Exact results for Wilson loops in arbitrary representations

We compute the exact vacuum expectation value of 1/2 BPS circular Wilson loops of TeX = 4 U(N) super Yang-Mills in arbitrary irreducible representations. By localization arguments, the computation reduces to evaluating certain integrals in a Gaussian matrix model, which we do using the method of orthogonal polynomials. Our results are particularly simple for Wilson loops in antisymmetric representations; in this case, we observe that the final answers admit an expansion where the coefficients are positive integers, and can be written in terms of sums over skew Young diagrams. As an application of our results, we use them to discuss the exact Bremsstrahlung functions associated to the corresponding heavy probes.

Doença de Wilson e Gravidez: Relato de Caso

A doença de Wilson (degeneração hepatolenticular) é distúrbio autossômico recessivo raro que usualmente ocorre entre a primeira e terceira décadas de vida. Caracteriza-se por depósito excessivo de cobre no fígado e cérebro e é fatal se não diagnosticada e tratada precocemente. Os autores descrevem um caso de gravidez e doença de Wilson, mostrando a evolução satisfatória de uma paciente que fez uso da D-penicilamina até a sétima semana de gestação, quando a suspendeu por conta própria, e após a vigésima semana gestacional. A mãe evoluiu sem sinais de descompensação clínica ou obstétrica. O recém-nascido não apresentou nenhuma intercorrência e encontrava-se bem no final do primeiro ano de vida.

Caracterização morfológica de sementes, plântulas e da germinação de Dimorphandra wilsonii Rizz. - faveiro-de-wilson (Fabaceae-Caesalpinioideae)

Objetivou-se estudar a morfologia de sementes e plântulas de Dimorphandra wilsonii Rizz. caracterizando-se as sementes interna e externamente e os processos de desenvolvimento e de diferenciação dos estádios das plântulas. Foram também determinados a curva de embebição das sementes, o peso de mil sementes e o número de sementes por quilograma. Um quilograma de sementes possui, em média, 2.560 unidades. Estas apresentam tecido de reserva, no qual o tégmen está fortemente aderido e os tegumentos são duros e impermeáveis à água. A morfologia de sementes e plântulas fornece subsídios que facilitam o reconhecimento da espécie.
