The Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau (DKP) equation for massive spinless bosons in the presence of a nonminimal vector smooth step potential is revised. The problem is mapped into a Sturm-Lionville equation. The reflection and transmission coefficients are obtained and discussed in detail. Furthermore; we show that Klein's paradox does not show its face in this sort of interaction.

The Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau (DKP) equation, in the scalar sector of the theory and with a linear nominimal vector potential, is mapped into the nonrelativistic harmonic oscillator problem. The behavior of the solutions for this sort of vector DKP oscillator is discussed in detail.

The Klein - Gordon and the Dirac equations with vector and scalar potentials are investigated under a more general condition, V(v) + V(s) = constant. These intrinsically relativistic and isospectral problems are solved in the case of squared hyperbolic potential functions and bound states for either particles or antiparticles are found. The eigenvalues and eigenfuntions are discussed in some detail and the effective Compton wavelength is revealed to be an important physical quantity. It is revealed that a boson is better localized than a fermion when they have the same mass and are subjected to the same potentials.

A few properties of the nonminimal vector interaction in the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau theory in the scalar sector are revised. In particular, it is shown that the nonminimal vector interaction has been erroneously applied to the description of elastic meson-nucleus scatterings and that the space component of the nonminimal vector interaction plays a peremptory role for the confinement of bosons whereas its time component contributes to the leakage. Scattering in a square step potential is used to show that Klein's paradox does not manifest in the case of a nonminimal vector coupling. Determining the spin and the parity quantum numbers of the recently discovered Higgs-like boson at the LHC is a matter of great importance. In this Letter, we consider the possibility of using the kinematics of the tagging jets in Higgs production via the vector boson fusion (VBF) process to test the tensor structure of the Higgs-vector boson (HVV) interaction and to determine the spin and CP properties of the observed resonance. We show that an anomalous HVV vertex, in particular its explicit momentum dependence, drastically affects the rapidity between the two scattered quarks and their transverse momenta and, hence, the acceptance of the kinematical cuts that allow to select the VBF topology. The sensitivity of these observables to different spin-parity assignments, including the dependence on the LHC center of mass energy, are evaluated. In addition, we show that in associated Higgs production with a vector boson some kinematical variables, such as the invariant mass of the system and the transverse momenta of the two bosons and their separation in rapidity, are also sensitive to the spin-parity assignments of the Higgs-like boson.

In the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), we discuss the possibility of the lightest Higgs boson with mass M-h = 98 GeV to be consistent with the 2.3 sigma excess observed at the LEP in the decay mode e(+)e(-) -> Zh, with h -> b (b) over bar. In the same region of the MSSM parameter space, the heavier Higgs boson (H) with mass M-H similar to 125 GeV is required to be consistent with the latest data on Higgs coupling measurements at the end of the 7 + 8 TeV LHC run with 25 fb(-1) of data. While scanning the MSSM parameter space, we impose constraints coming from flavor physics, relic density of the cold dark matter as well as direct dark matter searches. We study the possibility of observing this light Higgs boson in vector boson fusion process and associated production with W/Z-boson at the high luminosity (3000 fb(-1)) run of the 14 TeV LHC. Our analysis shows that this scenario can hardly be ruled out even at the high luminosity run of the LHC. However, the precise measurement of the Higgs signal strength ratios can play a major role to distinguish this scenario from the canonical MSSM one.

We study the production of three gauge bosons (W(+)W(-)Z(0) and W(+)W(-)gamma) at the next generation of linear e(+)e(-) colliders operating in the yy mode. We analyze the total cross sections as well as several kinematical distributions of the final state particles. We find out that a linear e(+)e(-) machine operating in the rr mode will produce 5-10 times more three-gauge-boson states compared to the standard e(+)e(-) mode at high energies.
